  1. I just paid my taxes so am contributing my two cents on credit... If there is going to be a change in the LOS feature, than perhaps it should be aimed at making it easier to integrate LOS checks with the plotting of way points... I'd like to see a way to use the LOS tool to designate something like a movement reference point (MRP?), a point on the map which the game recognizes and which could then be used by any/all units by using a "move to MRP" command (just like arty using TRPs). For example, when doing a LOS check the player could have the option of either turning the LOS tool off, or (while the LOS check was still "on") the option of hitting something like "ctrl-R" to place a reference point onto the map. Such points could also serve an even broader function in terms of coordinating unit maneuvers in a way that the "Paste orders" feature cannot. -David [ March 18, 2003, 11:06 AM: Message edited by: ExMachina ]
  2. Major, It's a advert that I THINK came with the TO Scenario Pack. One was supposed to sign up in order to get a snail mail notification whenever Panzers East was released (I obviously didn't sign up even though I was very excited about PzE). Here's a link to the document: Panzers East Flyer It's interesting that even at this relatively recent date (ca 1995), there is no provision made for either email marketing or email support. -D [ March 01, 2003, 07:29 PM: Message edited by: ExMachina ]
  3. OK, who else out there never throws anything away?? I just found this in a box of "stuff"... Heaven help me should I ever have a basement! -David [ March 01, 2003, 04:55 PM: Message edited by: ExMachina ]
  4. Major, Is there any way to make the in-game artillery dialogue box look like the one on the Tacops “Products” section of this site (shown below)--i.e., *with* horizontal lines separating the different units? The layout in my game (v 4.0.4) lacks these lines, and I often inadvertently change the settings of the wrong unit. -David
  5. Am I missing something regarding how to add optional units in this scenario? The initial blue set up is all "off map" and the game wants me to add the optional units in the (non-existant), on-map grey box. Thanks, -David (hoping the answer is not terribly obvious)
  6. Thanks, Major. Just curious if they theoretically could be implemented. The more I play TacOps, the less I care about them (from a gaming standpoint, at least). Though, a Gulf War PBEM w/ Cobras (Hellfires but no laser designators of their own) vs. Iraqi armor would be historically accurate, I’d probably have bribe someone to play Red. -David
  7. I know these things have been on the wish list since at least 1996 (when I started playing the game) These seem to epitomize (more than any single weapon can) the fluid, decentralized, and networked nature of the modern battlefield. Can they be realistically implemented in the current game engine, or will they have to wait for another iteration? -David
