  1. Don´t deploy (but use "face") if you want the HMG to be able to fire from behind bocage.
  2. A quick test: You can have a linear barrage between two TRPs even if they are further than 100m from each other. You can have area fire with the the center of fire within the 50m radius. You can even have larger than 50m radius area fire with the center of the strike in one TRP and the edge in the radius of another TRP. This was the case in my PBEM. I think this covers all possibilities. Not sure why it didn´t work in my PBEM.
  3. In a current PBEM I am trying a "rolling barrage" strategy in which I`ve placed TRPs on my advance route to supress or destroy enemy AT assets. As I understand this, the arty spotter does not require LOS to call in arty. This worked fine on the first 2 TRPs in my advance. Now on the third TRP my arty isn´t coming in and the spotter has started a pointless spotting round routine (the spotter is in the groundfloor of a building miles from the action and can´t possibly see anything). This has brought my advance to a standstill and ruined my strategy. I have to add that in this one TRP location the center of the strike is not exactly on the TRP. bug or do TRPs only work if they are exactly centered on the TRP?
  4. FMB, great campain, I´d say it´s the first CMx2 campaign that I have played that actually felt like a campaign. I really liked the way you get whittled down as the campaign progresses. SPOILERS (possibly) I played tactical victories until the taking of le Rouselle. There I had a minor defeat due to two (broken) american soldiers hidden in a corner. I replayed the last 10mins of that one to get myself another tactical victory. I only had one tank left then for the final battle in which I only managed a minor defeat, but a campagn victory nonetheless. my only gripes: Immobilized tanks that are otherwise functional would be nice to have in the next battle if it is fought on the same map. Don´t now if this is technically possible. I would have had three additional tanks in the last map ) Maybe (in your next campaign? ) ) you could make it more clear when and if your units and artillery will get new ammo. and one last question, why aren´t the recon units (Pumas etc.?) in the last two battles?
  5. I have to add some historical perspective here ) for the mac heads. The reason everbody wanted the blue bar (back) is that in ante-blue bar CMSF, you had to wait the full minute for the turn to play out in WEGO which was a major PITA in single player. In multiplayer it is/was irrelevant.
  6. What i don´t get: Why are reviews important to people who already have a strong opinion on the game based on the demo?
  7. The exponential growth of spotting info makes the files grow IMO. Then when the bullets fly all those trajectories are added on top of that, hence the shift to a larger file in the middle of the game often signals that the sh*t has just hit the fan )
  8. I killed a panther in the demo with a direct hit on the turret with an 81mm mortar round.
  9. I play iron with some opponents, warrior with others and i´ve never run into a "Oh i wish I had played this on another setting"-moment.
  10. I started a thread some time ago about the warrior mith the same capability. somebody did some testing. IIRC the vehicle did call in arty faster but it was a rather marginal effect. I think the range where these specilized vehicles really come into their own is way outside the size of CM maps.

  12. etiquette wise, 0 min artillery only if my opponent agrees specifically or if it´s sprecifically mentioned in the briefing.
  13. Has anybody seen this happening in CMBN? IIRC it happened in CMx1.
  14. Get rid of the kevlar trees. (!!!) Maybe I misunderstand penetration ) , but I see M10 and sherman turrets holed by panthers with no effect on the crew very often. Might have been lucky crewmen, but no casualties seems unlikely IMO.

  16. Were the tanks that got gun damage hull down? I have this nagging feeling that being hull down with a panther or tiger might be detrimental if your opponents are close enough for precise hitting and most hits are on or close to the gun.
  17. Just stating that nobody knows the real state of the containment vessels. The real reason that this hasn´t been worse than it already is is that the wind was blowing out to sea at the right moment. That IMO is pure luck, not an engineering feat. As for deaths and stuff, I say compare when it´s over.
  18. The answer to 4 is: click on the destination waypoint and click on deploy. They´ll deploy on arrival then. also works with hide, target etc. edit :too slow )
  19. This can´t be stated with any certainty. Considering that we´ve gone from "The plant will be up and running in a few weeks" to confirmed multiple meltdowns, I would be careful with the optimism.
  20. This forum is google searchable, so the more everbody whines/rejoices the larger the likelyhood that some beurocrat will stumble over our blatherings find a way to tax us for downloads. ;O) On steam we already pay euros (pounds?) for dollars despite the weakness of the dollar...
  21. Detection is by hitting a mine, possibly by loitering in the vicinity, but I´ve never seen it happen. After marking the mines , other units can move through the minefield albeit not faster than at "move" speed.
  22. In CMA the Carl Gustav HE rounds are great for killing BMPs.
