paternal side: my father was in the US-infantry in the ETO (just managed to get in in 1945).
maternal side: my grandfather was a lt. in the Wehrmacht artillery from 1939 to the battle of the bulge, where he was captured by US forces. his three brothers were all captured by the soviets during stalingrad (and survived!).

this one reminds me of "frühlingswind" in the sense that the scenario introduction depicts the battle as desperate american "last stands", when actually the american forces are easily up to the task.

thx for your test!
it confirms my feeling that bogging has been reduced in CMAK.

here is my short AAR: contains spoilers )
played as italian vs. AI. I rushed all my troops except for the tankettes (which i moved to the oasis on the left) up the pimple just behind the rocks (infantry among the rocks). the AI advanced its troops "charge of the light brigade"-style into my amassed tanks. feeling that due to scenario balance mathildas were bound to arrive, i moved up the 75mm autocannones to the front. the mathidas trundled into this trap and were greeted by massive steel mayhem. incredibly I still couldn´t KO a single mathilda, though after the battle i checked and all mathildas had cannon damage and were in panic. 66-34 victory
one strange thing i noticed: the autocannone 75mm does not appear to have a setup time and it can even fire while moving!

Haven´t found Cpt. Blackadder yet...

The Churchill MkI and IV share the same textures. The MkI should have a hull-mounted howitzer in front, not a MG.

Is BFC being forced to use a distributor in europe?Originally posted by Russkly:I went with BFC.
Don't like idea of distributors taking a cut -

If it weren´t worth it they wouldn´t do it, right?

In the CMAK demo: line of defense. One of my hidden schrecks is spotted by a M5 and fired upon at close range (20m). The unit stands up, aims, destroys the M5, and just for good measure takes out a sherman over 100m away before being annihilated by the rest of the sherman-borg pack

I bought CMAK yesterday (CDV version). my only criticism so far is the whopping 634MB setup.exe.
Dunno if this was CDV´s bright idea or BFC´s. I have a reasonably fast computer (AMD XP2800, 512MB DDR). after clicking setup.exe my computer went into deep freeze (DVD drive running at top speed and CPU usage 100%) for something like 8 minutes until it finally managed to start installing. I really wonder what people with less memory/CPU power will do.

First try was axis, and ended in a massacre/draw. I tried a long distance tank battle hoping for the effect of better geman targetting and that the green american tank troops would chicken out like their russian counterparts in CMBB. this was not the case. when i played the americans I was able to confirm this. my green sherman crews happily blasted away although they were being targetted and hit by several PzIIIs.
my second try as axis ended in total victory, as I remembered to use smoke screens. I also raced forward to take out the grants quickly before the shermans arrived. i then hid my PzIIIs behind the house and waited until the AI made its usual mistake of sending out its tanks piecemeal (out of the orchard).
playing the americans is fairly easy and if I hadnt stupidly left my grants out in the open (in stead of hiding them in the orchard with the shermans)a total victory would have been possible.

Since Crete is included in CMAK, will there be crashed gliders or airplanes to litter the landscape with?
Bombers and/or fighter planes as (destroyable-> is that a word?) objects would be cool too. I´m thinking of a hypothetical invasion of Malta or something like that

the new VIA-hyperion 4in1 drivers appear to solve the problem. but I still have to play a few games to be absolutely sure.

have same problem, as posted a few days ago.Originally posted by Hpt. Lisse:Mad Matt,
After playing this wargame for 2 1/2 years now, (and proud to say the only continous computer game I've engaged in for anything longer than a month), there's definately a 1.02 bug. Check the audio stuff first. My system was rock-solid until this patch - hell, a few times, my roommate would print on a networked printer through me while playing the game - causing a graphical slowdown, but never a crash.
I have been through ALL reasonable Nvidia (4600 Ti, Win 98SE) drivers, 29.42, 30.87, 41.09 etc. I was using 41.09 when I downloaded the patch, and now after 10 - 30 minutes, I hear that Windows "Ting!" and we're frozen.
The only reason I protest is that I have changed NOTHING. Even the most recent anti-virus update says "clean". And there's too many other people starting to report the same thing.
Thanks for your time.
Hpt. Lisse
only difference: running win2k
no solution found yet
if you find a solution plz mail, thx: yossarian0815@chello.at

it is PanzerkampfwagEnOriginally posted by Nightshade:PanzerKampfwagon is the same thing in German. They call them Panzer (to save time I would imagine !) literally 'armoured...'
correcting this because Panzerkampfwagon sounds very funny in german

had a variation of your problem: the UBER AT-gun
I was advancing on a german 75mm AT gun from 2 sides with russian sherman tanks. the AT GUN wasnt pointing at either tank yet, and both my tanks had LOS (range of under 100m). then suddenly it dipped out of LOS for both tanks. next turn it appeared killed one tank, and dipped out of LOS after firing, turned undetected, and appeared again next turn killing the other tank. wish I had taken some screenshots
anyway, further on in the game I turned the soviet national anthem on at max volume on my stereo and human-waved the offending AT-gun.

my system:
AMD 2100
Geforce 4 T4200
running Win2K
tried reinstall, but that didnt help

you can fire into factories with a tank if you put it in front of a gate.
