Speaking of adorable, the British do build some of the cutest things.
I just want to hug it and squeeze it, and call it George. -

Not much to say about the M5 except it's the best light tank of the war.
Period. -
...and the video closeups of that beauty should rustle the jimmies of the Cold War players.

That Matilda II is just a darling isn't she? While so many early war British tanks were crap, that one most assuredly was not.

One really cool thing to see was the AA setup for the 88mm FlaK. I have long arms so I got some closeups, but I'm still a little foggy on the details of the mechanical computer. It seems to be a regular naval rangefinder attached to a ground mount.

That's where the news TV camera was set up.
I think they were going to do a video feature about the M1A1 they have here.

That is an actual SCUD missile. I got some close ups when I was shooting video.
It's funny because all the internal markings are in Cyrillic, and it was in Iraqi service. I wonder if they had to teach all the guys to read Cyrillic, or if they just gave them translated operating manuals.

They have the floor divided into themed areas with a bit of information on placards and stuff, but there's not a whole lot to go on.
That guy was giving a tour to some news people who were doing a feature or something. He knew his stuff, and I found out later he's one of the guys who does maintenance work on the vehicles here.

"The last Buick off the line"
I'm glad they do a feature about the work of American factories during the war, but they don't put much information behind it showing how truly remarkable it really was. After WW1 there was a very quiet movement by the federal government to catalog and quantify the production capacity and capability of pretty much every factory in the entire country, so when it came time to convert to war production they could do so very quickly, and allocate production tasks to those most capable of carrying them out.
The more I study it the more impressed I get. Most other countries had to make major sacrifices to get their production to meet their needs, but the USA outproduced everyone without breaking much of a sweat.

Here's an unusual view of a sherman.

I'm heading down there tomorrow and I'm bringing a couple of cameras.
Stand by for LOTS of tank pictures and other stuff, I'll be spending two days there and I should see everything. -
I'm sorry I've been gone. Circumstances beyond my control kept me quite busy.
It's almost like a significant portion of the population had some reason to stay home as much as possible while ordering lots of packages from the internet.
I dunno what that was about, but once I finish buying a new PC for video editing I'll be producing videos again. -
I only ever play a scenario seriously once. I play ironman and only keep one save I overwrite every turn. The maximum amount of time I can 'rewind' is thus limited to 60 seconds. So if I want to 're-roll' my turn I can do that (or if I forgot to give an order I intended to, etc.), but I cannot go back to fifteen minutes ago and move down another approach route.
Whatever result I get at the end, is what I get. If I get my butt kicked fair and square I give a friendly nod to the scenario designer and move on. I may play it again from the other side just to experiment or see what was the situation from the other side, but I don't take those seriously and I rarely finish them. Once I've seen what happens in a scenario it's difficult for me to go back and do it again given I've already seen it once, I wouldn't feel it was 'fair'. -

Since when shoot Pixeltruppen at surrendering troops? Do you have to target them manually?
It usually takes a few seconds for a surrender to 'register' so during those few seconds, surrendering troops may be shot.
I don't know if there's any soft factors that adjust this tendency, or if it's the result of something else. Maybe the spotting cycle has to complete before the status is updated.Anyway, I checked out the CMMODS and I can't find those sweet IS-2's with the slogans on their turrets I keep seeing in pictures. Can anyone PM me a link or something?

And on the videos regularly I see that you are not taking your advice.
Advice, as always, is conditional.
Sometimes, you just need to kick that door down and shoot him in the face.On 5/25/2021 at 4:20 PM, Falaise said:I think I feel the disapproving gaze of General Jack Ripper planted just behind me his cigar planted in his mouth swinging his head negatively.
I often do this when watching videos of other people playing.

Always nice to see see a bit of canister action.
It doesn't work so well point blank against the firing slit of a wooden bunker, but it seems pretty much perfect for all other applications.

Watching tanks roam around the NTC scenarios like ships at sea was a picturesque and relaxing way to spend my weekend.
Thanks. -

Maybe if it showed the path thi AI intends to take when you pput waypoints. Would help too when there is a long strip of impassible ground and they will have to go around it (right in front of the enemy, of course).
There's only two types of ground impassible to infantry, so you'll likely not see it much, and it will be obvious when you do.
The trouble is some types of rubble or flavor objects can be used to block a door and make it impassible, and you won't know until your guys refuse to use the door.
Personally I think if the scenario designer wants to block a door, he can simply not put the door there in the first place.
