  1. Well, maybe I should just take it as another sign that my poor little mac is starting to show its age. I got that thing the first week the B&W G3s hit the market. It more than did the job for first three years or so, but lately most games that have hit the market have minimum sys requirements that are a bit higher than mine. Anyways, I will try tweaking the memory partition one last time and if I find the will power to do it I might just try a clean install on my 9.2 system software. I know that I have gotten CMBO to work just fine in the past but for some reason it is now showing the same probs that CMBB has, so maybe its something that I have tossed into the system software that I am just not taking into account. I don't know. Thanks for all your help everybody, I really do appreciate it!
  2. All of my RAM I have had shipped to me over the internet. It is something that I have added piecemeal over the years so I couldn't even begin go guess as to who I have ordered all of it from. I went through and checked the extensions that I thought could of been causing this problem and I didn't see anything suspicious. However I came across an extension labeled "Classic Rave". I am not sure if it was the Combat Mission games or something else, but I could of sworn that I have seen somewhere that you should remove this extension...anyways I took it out and rebooted. The problem remains. Now on to my memory partition. I changed the partition to read minimum: 55000 Maximum: 59000 This also did not solve the problem. Wish I could think of something else, but I am at the end of my rope here.
  3. Okay, I have been doing a bit of troubleshooting and here is what I have found: The game continues to lock up with virtual memory off and on. During the lock ups I cannot hear any noise from my computer at all. I don't hear the HD making sound or the CD-ROM spinning up. There really isn't any pattern as to when the lock ups occur. They can happen during any phase of the game. Allthough they seem to be more common when I am doing a Quick battle, but I will have to double check this one to be sure. I don't know what else to add about this problem. When it happens everything freezes. I cannot esc to the desktop and even the background noise in the game dies. Sometimes if I am using my mouse to move my view of the battlefield, while I am rotating/moving the screen I will hear the sound effects stop as if it is going to freeze, but the game will not freeze untill I am done moving the mouse.Oh yea, and I am also using OS 9.2.2 I just thought of something else. Could having this game on a partitioned drive affect it in some way? I originaly had CMBB on a seperate drive from my 9.2.2 system software when I first experienced this problem. Then I tried installing it on the same partition as my system software hoping it would fix everything, but the problem remains. Hope this helps somewhat because I am at a loss as to the cause of this.
  4. I am not sure if this has been addressed or not, but I did a search for it and didn't find anything. Well, the problem is that when I go to play CMBB or CMBO on my mac, periodicaly during game play the game will just lock up for anywhere between 10 and 60 seconds. Afterwards it may play fine untill the next round in which it does it again. Has anyone had any experience with this glich? System Specs: 300mhz B&W G3 ATI Rage 128 graphics (yes, this card sucks) 320 mb ram Oh, by the way. If any game designers or creators read this, excellant work on the Combat Mission series! And just one more thing....is there anything new on whether or not these games will ever be playable on OSX? I know the lack of Rave support is holding it back but I was wondering if there was any news of anything in the works...?
