  1. I have been away for a (long) while, so maybe I've missed the backdrop to this thread. Regardless, my 0.02: While all scenario designers are no doubt interested in feedback and pointers regarding how to make more interesting and playable scenarios, I *strongly* object to the tone used by Jason! I think it is extremely rude to attack people who commit time to designing scenarios for others to enjoy. Sure, offer critique - but don't dare tell them they have no place in the community and should "crawl away under a rock and stop pollute the scenario sites". I thank ALL scenario designers for their efforts. If I find scenarios I dislike, I am mature enough to accept that tastes differ and move on.
  2. Wow - talk about timing. However, my original problem persists as I see the ratings for the CMBB scenarios seem to have been lost (all are 0.00). Oh well, can't get it all can you.
  3. Hi all! I've just come back from a 2+ year pause. No idea why I stopped playing CMBB to start with - too little time I guess. Now, with the scenario depot gone, I have downloaded all the rescued scenarios - but I have a hard time selecting which to play. I can't seem to remember my favourites either. So, is there a site where scenarios are voted upon (like I seem to remember the depot having), or have someone created a list (however short) of fave scenarios? Thanks in advance! Dan
  4. Hi! The arcs move with the unit, so if you want to cover one side the method you describe is perfect. However, the arcs don't rotate with the unit, you have to take that into consideration when doing shoot n' scoot for example. You don't want your intended target left outside the arc once you have moved your tank into position... Cheers!
  5. Hi! Is it possible to get AA in CMBB on a mac (1ghz DP - Geforce4mx)? If so...how? Sorry for the ignorance and many thanks in advance! Cheers, Herr Flick
  6. Hi! First of all, many thanks to Biltong and the BCR team - you're doing a wonderful job! Now for my question: has anyone tried adapting the rules to allow a two-player campaign? My current PBEM opponent rightly noted that it would be great fun to play it as a PBEM campaign. If one were to disregard the improbability of two battlegroups constantly clashing throughout the period, it would probably work? Please feel free to rid me of dilusion if I'm totally out there. Cheers!
  7. Many thanks! I thought I had looked everywhere - missed the B&T times though. Either I didn't search well enough or it is quite hard to find. Cheers!
  8. I've stumbled upon several references to a great pack of modded Panthers by a Krawsydog (or similar). However, I can't seem to find it anywhere. Are there other resource sites than cmmods? TIA!
  9. We ARE much better educated (speaking of Swedes here - top scorers in the survey). Cheers!
  10. OK, I will try the hull-down distraction whil flanking tactic once more - perhaps I will get lucky this time. Thanks!
  11. Hi! I fully confess to being totally new and clueless regarding CMBB. However, I thought I knew a thing or two about tactics. So, I played Lonely Country on the CD - and got totally slaughtered. A number of times. I play as allied and have tried a number of things. Advancing cautiously with infantry support in front. Flanking (both right and left) while distracting the kraut guns with a fake centre attack, etc. etc. It always goes pretty much the same: The Stugs sit titght and pick of my tanks one after one as they emerge from cover (however briefly). I simply cannot find a route with sufficient cover to get close enough with enough T34s to have a chance to outmanouver them. I would be very, very thankful for any help. Cheers, Herr Flick
  12. Please feel free to ignore this post - I just wanted to say hi to all you veterans! I stumbled upon the greatness that is CM on a wargamer site, downloaded the demo - and was hooked. Now CMBB is in the mail (hopefully) and I'll soon challenge the lot of you! Used to play quite a bit of ASL way back, along with the fleet series (anyone else remember those?). Good fun, but I'm very pleased to be able to get the wargaming fix without the gazillion markers.. Now - carry on, nothing else to see here! Cheers, Herr Flick
