The winter part shouldn't happen that late, I agree with you there.Originally posted by Kuniworth:I once had winter until late may and then mud until mid-july. Is that normal?
But rain/mud can happen at anytime, it may not be normal for that time of year, but it can happen.
-
Its realism, the chances if it happening are low, as in real life. You never know when your gonna have a unusually rainy summer, it does happen.Originally posted by Cheese Panzer:Agreed - those mid-summer mud turns are really jarring. Mud turns really need to stop completely by late May.

Personally, I wait for spring to invade the Low Countries.
However, another advantage with attacking during winter months is that the Allies have no real chance to launch a counter offensive.
It seems every time the Axis invade during winter, I (being Allies) can never seem to move my armies forward to attack, due to the mud/snow. So your chances of heavily damaging a German unit are pretty low, let alone destroy one. If you do counter attack, you'll only weaken your own units, allowing the Germans to achieve a breakthrough the next turn. And then your in a world of **** (like, "Paris by april" world of ****)......

But you sure do like Spain, I've had to spend A LOT of money keeping them from you.Originally posted by hellraiser:I do not use diplomacy on majors.

The ship was the Battleship "Yamato", it was Japan's biggest BB and was sunk off Okinawa towards the end of the war (never saw ship-to-ship action).Originally posted by jon_j_rambo:How about Yamamoto? Was that a ship or a dude? I know it was a Battleship of the Japs that went to fighting or something?
Admiral Yamamoto was CinC of the Japanese Navy. Smart guy, knew if he didn't win the war against us within the first 6 months, our industrial output would overwhelm Japan. He was right...... He was killed when we shot down his transport plane in 43 or 44.

**Update**
"ICQ Contact List" thread started, add your contact information (ICQ, AIM, email, ect) and start searching for SC2 opponents to play against.
-
ICQ Number: 258-206-767
Email: JTrapp86@gmail.com

One of the best ways to find SC2 opponents is ICQ (just as it was with SC1), so it would help a lot if everyone would post their ICQ number along with any other contact information you wish to include (email, AIM, ect). Thanks!

ICQ and Battlefront’s Opponent Finder Forum seem to be the best ways to find opponents, haven’t had much trouble finding people to play using those.Originally posted by Jim Mason:Now what? Do we meet up HERE or there?

**Update**
Since it seems a majority are in favor of allowing PBEM matches, the rules have been changed.
PBEM matches are now accepted on the SCHQ ladder.

Mainly because of reloads, it was the same with the SC1 leagues. Other than that, its all the same to me.Originally posted by Blashy:Why not accept PBEM matches as well?
It would be nice to have both types of players in the same league.
The game is the same, hehe.
We'll see what everyone else thinks, if a majority are ok with allowing PBEM, then it would be something I'd seriously consider.
I agree, it would be nice to have both....

Favorite: Paratroopers (extremely useful if you use them right).
Dislike: Rockets I guess....

Another benefit to taking Norway is position, it makes it a lot more difficult for the Royal Navy to prevent the Germans from entering the Atlantic. Yes, you have France for that once they surrender, but its nice to have other friendly ports available to you.
Not to mention, you can base aircraft in Norway. The British Home Fleet / Scapa Flow make nice targets for the Luftwaffe.
Also, UK/Russian convoys go right past Norway, just base 1 or 2 u-boats in one of the northern ports...

Yep, as for SC1 BF is the center court" </font>Originally posted by Sombra:</font><blockquote>quote:</font><hr />Originally posted by jon_j_rambo:

Anyone thinking about creating a SC2 league?
I know panzerliga has one, but I really do think we need one here at Battlefront, like we did with SC1.
Personally, I'd like to see Zapp or Kuni create one, both have experience in running SC leagues and have done a pretty good job in the past.
Any thoughts?

Great, get on ICQ.....Originally posted by jon_j_rambo:I'll take post #3.

I agree, there is no need for a separate arty unit.
I would rather see an extra unit created for destroyers (so the entire Home Fleet doesn't have to be used to chase down a single submarine flotilla) and / or a low-rate militia/garrison unit.

Where did you get "13 years old" from his member number? His member number is 10987.Originally posted by Concord Dan:Looking at your member number what are you? A 13 year old:) You do not understand or have failed to read the manual. Let's attack the poster.
Your juvenile drivel aside, do you really believe a HQ unit represents a single leader?
You silly newbies crack me up......
As for the HQs, the HQ unit represents a SINGLE LEADER AND logistical support, intelligence, communications, field hospitals, and every thing else you would find in the rear area of an army group.
Why else would the HQs have general's names and ratings? I highly doubt that the rating is for the support staff.

I'm up for it, send me the file when you get a chance, email in profile.
