  1. August 15 NM B99 F99 I100 A100 G 99 AH 99 O100

    East Prussian Front: No combat so units Dig in and await the Russians. Hindenburg is unretired.

    Polish Front: Russians Invade NE Aus-Hug and take her oilfields but no combat. AH digs in and prepares for the valulted Russian Steam Roller.

    Serbian Front: Belgrade is pounded again and falls, heavy thrust into eastern Serbia.

    Western Front: Brussels is hit by 3 IC and falls; FR IC takes 3 hits and crubles by Lille; CV units push forward and take Lille, Calais and Arras: NW France is in germanys hands, for now. Eastern battle line entrenchs while in contact with French units.

    1914 battle plan: Schlieffen

    East Prussia Front: Garrisoned citys and prepared battle lines.

    Polish Front: Garrisoned citys and prepared for Russian Steam Roller

    Serbian Front: Attached Belgrade with 3 Corps and push units in on the flanks.

    Western Front: DOW Belgium and destoryed her two forward Detachments (DT) but had to use all my close troops to do this, just dinged the capital but pushed Calvery (CV) units to the edge of Lille. Heavy push in the center of Frach but no combat. Eastern flank moved to contact with French units and destroyed forward Infantry Corps (IC), but suffered heavy damage.

  3. Starting a PBEM game of SC WW1 and felt it would be fun to share it with everyone else, dont see this done offen anymore but was common back in the SC2 days. We both are pritty new to the game so I dont expect grand stratagy to be a desiding factor but who makes the least number of mistakes. This will be New World vs Old World but I mean to make this my first step back to being Champ of North America (take that Rambo!).

    Std game, no house rules, normal setup, V1.01. Iron as Central Powers : Derek as Allied.

    Not everything posted here will be 100% true, dont want to give away how damaged my units might be after combat ect... Hopefully we are able to fight to near 1918, but as we are new this could end earlier.

    Havent posted in some time, nice to see that HC continues to put out great games with BF. I noticed a few of the old times in the other forums but mostly everyone looks new, been along time since the christmass riot on the forums (Hey Rambo, still banned?).'

  5. Dont forget you need one of them to bump Albaina up to 10. Unless you take Egypt its implortant to take Greece to stop the allies using it as a second front and with 1-2 chits in dipo the Allies can offen bring Yougo to thier side. You dont have to use fully teched str 10 units. If axis minor or Itlian unit gets mauled and you need to operate them out dump them in Yougo and it will provide the needed ZOC. You can also allow the Yougo partsians to control the MT hex releaving you of having a garison there. Once a unit pops up, destroy it with air (or after it moves out) for the exp and dont retake the MTs leaving them as allied.

    2 cheap corps for garisson of the two countrys 200 MPs

    16 MPPs for each + 5 for Albaina = 37 MPPs .... you will make back what you put in less then a year after capture. Add in the plunder, minus out that Greece normally produces much less and it still a MPPs gain some time in 1942 I would think.

  6. While I never liked the star trek telaporter system of moving units. Some of the other changes I'm not sure I would enjoy. I felt for a game the scope we had basic units were just fine and players could 'tweak' them with tech. WaW adds a whole scope or additional units. The change for armor I thought was a good one, but giving strat bombers two attacks seamed over the top.

    So I guess from my reading and playing (demo only) SC2 is the better of the two however WaW does add more 'flavors' for players to mess with. I'm unsure how this all effect game play.

  7. If you want to look at what its, and the Third Riech still here today then I think we could start at one of the biggest decision points in the war.

    Summer 1942 attack in Russia.. specficly the attack on Stalingrad.

    What if Hitler had not taken direct command of the war in the east. That the attack that summer stayed as planed and Armys (6th and 4th pz) had not been mixed up, that 'taking' Stalingrad would have been done the army way.. after 1-2 weeks and control of the high ground west of the city where artilery could close the river (done in early sept I think).

    Offen its stated here that the axis could not have won the war. But if at this point (and Midway in the PT) some better decisons had been made the end result could have been greatly different.

    One result of the above possablitly would be the 6th army parked on the western edge of the city and fresh to block any counter attack from the east or south. The 4th Pz could have spilled south on along the rivers edge and physicaly cut the Caucass (sp) from the main body of Russia. The winter of 42/43 would see the Germany army (and allies) sitting behind a huge river from the sea in the south to just short of Moscow, unit could mop up the area in the south were the local might have welcomed the 'liberators' from soviet oppression (unlikely, look at the Ukraine). The battle field would have look greatly different in 1943 - enough for a axis victory in WW2 and Hitlers Germany surviving till today?

  8. I find that taking Sweden is primarly usefull only if the allies have taken Norway.

    1) Its easy to drive them out of Norway with supply from Sweden

    2) Once you have a link through Finland the extra MMPs from Norway (now 10) make up for the cost of the invasion

    3) You gain slighly to the axis force pool

    4) Normally in the mid summer of 1940 you dont have that many other places to use your units unless your attacking Spain, or England.

  9. I have never seen these types of ships purchased in a game.

    Due to mass production wouldnt it be cheaper to build X number of tanks with the same material vs a battle group? And while the navel units have indivadual names, in the game perspective dont they represent many other smaller units. After all if we went the route that they are one ship, the subs are horidly over priced, but as a Wolf Pack, or US sub division they fall closely into the right price.
