  1. I'm in the last stages of a "The Eagle Has Landed" Scenario bassed on the last battle from the movie. 1/2 American company vs (20) Elite and fanatical Germans with a 15 minute time limit. Could do with a play tester as I am thinking of changing the time limit to 10 minutes with a variable ending time.
  2. I can't wait for 1 meter by 1 meter action spots (or smaller) being able to set squad formations (wedge, line etc) and spacing more terrain types more flavor objects etc etc etc I know! ten years from now, but I am happy with that time line
  3. Here is an idea for a map: from http://www.battlefront.com/community/showthread.php?t=97115 (The Carillon Nose (137th Infantry) - Campaign In Progress) Time scale per turn should be 1 hour: 1) battles set for 65 minutes players play till 65 minute mark, 2) Battles can end early by agreement. eg attacker reaches his cas limit and defender is not going to counter attack 3) a player can call for reserves at any point during a game (arrival times is then worked out on strat map and added to the next battle) Force Reserve's pool: Create a reserve depot on the strat map where all requested reserves travel from. Can also be used as the supply depo if you can follow a road back to the supply depo full supply if not each battle lowers your supply. Victory Conditions: You need to set a victory condition eg capture bridge and hold it for 8 hour, there could be some smaller missions as well eg capture cross roads or small villages on the way to the final objective.
  4. Why not put some small land islands to represent the landing craft in shallow ford. Place a small wall right around to give a little cover will act a bit like the landing craft walls.
  5. Hiding a sherman in a stand of trees and targeting an 88 ATG in the distance. Only to see my first few shells hit a tree 100m away, until the tree is destroyed and clears line of sight for the Germans. Needless to say they chose that time to return fire turning my sherman in to a pile of burning metal. This is the only game I know of where every round is tracked. "Because close enough is not really good enough" great job bf
  6. I tried it on WITP AE and both snipping tool and irfanview both take the screen shot correctly. The only thing I can't take a screen shot of is CM Normandy, this is very strange. Has Anybody on Windows 7 Prof got screen shots to work?
  7. BlackAdder Goes forth Lt George: "If we do happen to step on a mine, Sir, what do we do ?" Edmund Blackadder: "Normal procedure, Lieutenant, is to jump 200 feet in the air and scatter oneself over a wide area." I use the Mark Mines takes time to do, sign will lighten and then go green. If you run a tank over it you will here the snap, crackle and pop just dont have any troops close by when you do it.
  8. First I tried the PrtScn Button (but that would only capture the desktop) Then I used Windows 7 Snipping Tool (Tried all 4 methods Free-Form Snip, Rectangular Snip, Window Snip and Full-Screen snip all methods take great desktop screen grabs) Finally I tried Irfanview (Tried Capture Area: settings 1),2),3),4),5) and 6) and I was still ony getting the desktop. I would have thought 4) Foreground Window - Client Area would have done it.) I have WITP AE on my machine I will try taking a screen grab of this while in play and see what happens. It may be an all over thing or just CM Normandy
  9. I can't get any screen grab tool to get the CM Normandy window. They all default back to the desktop. Loaded IrfanView and tried the snipping tool both with the same result I'm using Windows 7 Professional is there a step I have left out or is it just me!
  10. I hope now that we have the game some of these scenarios people are working on will be donated to the ROW. Winecap would love to here from you. also BUMP
  11. WEGO the only way to go. RT works in CMSF where one side is opening a can of whoop ass on the other and the fact that half your force is not even needed in a fight most of the time. P.S I preffer to play humans as they are less predictable.
  12. You are right about it being diffrent against a human. In my game as the Americans I came down the right side with my armour Not from the default left corner) would have appeared right behind your Panthers. Now that would have ruined your day. The AI just can't change to face these attacks properly, does the minute by minute well.
  13. Wego and RTS will use the comand diffrently Wego Hunt = the old move to contact and die I tend to use it only for the last 10 - 20 meters of a move to get the final positioning of a unit and then only if it will do the hunt command in the last 5 - 10 seconds of the turn. ie. A tank moving up to a hull down position stops as soon as he can see the enemy. (should be a good hull down position)
  14. Here is my take on how the ROW could be run this time 1) create the 'Tournament' = 72 players total [RoW VI].* 2) Each player plays all 7 scenarios.* 3) Nabla scoring system used to work out axis mean score's and allied mean score's.* 4) Nabla Scores allocated on distance from mean. 5) Each players top and bottom scores dropped.* 6) final 5 scores added togeather and turned into a ladder. Top player is the winner !!! Woohoo start again. *1 number players does not matter, long as it is even number of players. *2 Split group into two groups group 1 gets 3 Axis 4 allied, group 2 get 4 Axis 3 allied scenario's * this is from my understanding of how nabla worked in ROWIII, IV and V *3 scoring system works out the average/mean of the scenario (eg axis 5 allied 95 is the average/mean result) *3 scoring can also leave games out where a player dropped out. *5 like olympic diving, removes walkover scores. Don't know if this would work, it would help to stream line the tourney and give every body an idea where they fall in the CM:BN world.
  15. Interesting: A reason for dead men laying on their backs could be due to buddies/medics rolling them onto their backs to administer first aid and moving on once they know they can't do anything. leaving them on their backs.
  16. ROW games are hard to cheat in, the game files are sent out with the game parameters already set and a generic password assigned per side. FOW is covered by ROW scenarios not having been played before (ie designed just for the ROW) and the fact that no one talks about them until all games are finished. Plus I don't think any of the players would ever be invited back if they did cheat.
  17. The idea in Iron is that you dont change your view from ground level, use the next keys to go to next unit, then you can rotate the camera and give orders. Works best in wego.
  18. Calling Kingfish, Rune, Holien, Spanish Bombs, WineCap or any of the other guys who had a hand in running the ROW. I am looking for current links or copies of the ROW Rules, The Nabla scoring system, and any other files used to run the ROW also will there be any scenario's that could be used for the ROW in the initial release or will we need to wait for user built scenario's. to see if we have all the tools to set up the ROW BN fav post from Row IV (this what a game should do to you)
  19. Been around a long time just not a lot to say! As you can see from the sig played a lot of ROW games and even made it to the finals once.
  20. Now that we have a release date, I hope to see a lot of the old Row players and Senario designers start returning.
  21. Where do we sign up for the next round. i.e. all us non finalists
