  1. Wake up! Eichenhitler has already admitted that it is a Swastika. Comma.
  2. Uh, now that's lame even for your standards. BTW, just to inform you, I am not German, I'm just from a German-language country. No need to dig up national prejudice. And sure, you're doing all this GD stuff because, well, they had cool uniforms. Oh yea, cool uniforms is why we should celebrate Nazi shock troops. Not Nazi admiration, no no. It is cool uniforms. As said, I don't give a f@ck if your mate matt bans me from his trailer park home by dialup. I can't stand all this borderlining Nazism anyhow.
  3. No I don't cause they simply ain't got hammer&sickle buckles as their sig pics. There's a difference between historical realism and Nazi (or Commie)-admiration.
  4. Whoh, if that ain't sexy? All those Nazi admirers trying to get me out of the door as soon as any way possible. It's "Juden raus!" for the guy raising uncomfortable questions. I'm really sorry that serious discussion has failed and that nothing will change. I'm not comfortable with hammer&sickle mods either, but the problem is that they are so few compared to all the Swasti-lover-delights offered. And, after having read all the hateful posts directed towards me above, please nobody tell me the **** about how cool camoed German hardware was and how this attracts modders.
  5. Sorry, Eichi. I do not regret any of my previous posts cause I don't give a f@ck on how blurry you make your swastika. It just has no place in a signature picture and you are damaging the reputation of the game we both play. All I can tell you is to go to hell and not forget to take your swastika buckle with you before your daddy matt also closes this topic. 6. If you think that brightly colored proudly displayed swastikas got a place in entertainment software the two of us indeed got a problem. I do not accept those no matter if you kick me out of this board or not. At least I'm no swastika-waving hypocrite like you and toe the line of my beliefs.
  7. Oh, what makes you so mad? That I point my finger at potential Neonazi activity? What is your problem? Did your mother get her head shaved in 1945 or what? I this you knocking on the door yelling "Juden raus!". You confirm my worst fears I had about this issue.
  8. @Brightblade: I'm fully aware of the fact that the Iron Cross is not a Nazi symbol as such and that one could state, if one forcedly ingores the historical lines connecting the 2nd Reich to the 3rd Reich, that the Nazis abused it for their own warmongering purposes. But the real question is where historical interest ends and undue Nazi-military admiration begins. And I, forgive me, take the point of view that our community suffers from a share of interest turned Nazi-admiration. Proof? Well, just download some Über-SS or Über-GD scenario offered. If this is justification enough for lowbrows like Stevie above to call me names, well then it may be. Just marks the point I make brightly: (Mostly) juvenile Nazi-admiration turning aggressive and extinctionist once someone blows the whistle on them.
  9. Ok, I accept and believe your claim that you do not have any p o l i t i c a l sympathies for Nazism. Just to get things right: I had a second look at your sig pic (or buckle or whatever) and it still looks like a swastika to me. Just tell me if it is a swastika or not. If it's not, I will immediately call a truce and apologize for all swastika-realted criticism. However, I think that there's some Wehrmacht-admiration coming through on your site and got the impression that your scenarios fall into the Über-German genre. It is important for me to state that the Wehrmacht(-leadership) was as much a part of the Third Reich state as e.g. the Nazi party itself or the GeStaPo. Most individual soldiers may have managed to stay clear from warcrimes, but the leadership from operational level upwards was knee-deep into warcrimes and knew what was going on. Just have a look at the Babi-Yar massacre or numerous other incidents in the East. I therefore think that we should pull the break a little on overmodding German vehicles and soldiers, cause it makes our community look bad and may damage CM as such. Wargaming isn't actually a socially-accepted pasttime over here and it doesn't help wargaming when it can be linked to bright swastikas on HT sprites.
  10. Good point, but those crosses on Eichenbaum's site are WWII origin. Also did the Bundeswehr judge the WWII style iron cross to be politically linked to Nazi and Wehrmacht warcrimes, why they went for a differnt design that kept the tradition, which is perfectly ok for me.
  11. Err, oops. I have to correct myself. Meant the post in an ironic way, maybe that didn't come through. But indeed I suspect Nazi-admiration to have, on a sideline, sometimes something to do with covert-homosexuality. Which of course doesn't mean that every homo or even a larger number of them is pro-Nazi. I mistook you for the creator of this mod that bugs me: which had me go harsher and faster on the trigger on you than necessary. Sorry. Ya know, all those Nazi mods that numerically exceed the other Nation's stuff by such a great margin just bug me. As for your question about my position on homosexuality: I oppose and fight the radical homosexual agenda with democratic means, but I have nothing against homosexual individuals.
  12. Nope, sgtgoody, the Bundeswehr on purpose did go for a noticeably different than WW2 iron cross marking. They won't have to turn themselves in, neither would I However, them naming a garrison after Gen. Dietl is indeed an unnecessary issue on an otherwise AFAIK whiter than white file.
  13. Dear Matt, since you call me names, criticise me in a ad-hominem style in topics you close right afterwards and try to restrict free speech and justified political criticism I have to resort to reposting your words as a screenshot in order to be able to answer. So much for fairness and unbiased administration. Now back to the facts: Ok, a guy with a swastika in his sig pic and Nazi military insignia all over his site does not give you any reason to think he might have anything to with (Neo)Nazism? You prefer to call this 'promotion of the game'? Excuse me, but I'm from a German-language country where a site like Eichenbaum's is definitely illegal. Please, please, Matt, forgive me for having concerns about Neonazism. I start to wonder if Dutch law enforcement (I think I read somewhere that Eichenbaum is from the Netherlands, correct me if I'm wrong) has as liberal views on this issue as you do and also wonder if I should ask them to check my concerns about the website in question. I will refrain from commenting on your calling me an idiot and just want to suggest you might want to ban yourself for a little while for that. Next, you're rambling about an uncalled attack. Well, let me answer to this that I exercise the right to personally criticise Nazis, Nazi-admirers and ppl I suspect may be such persons anywhere and at any time. Your hollow 'power' being the administrator of this board does in no way intimidate and prevent me from doing so, cause, as we all know, if I wanted to, I could register under a different nick the very next minute. I'd however prefer to keep my nick in order to seriously discuss my concerns. Instead of strong words like: ... boot your off this forum so quick that it will make your mother dizzy ... This conduct by an administrator does not help anybody. Ok, posting in the wrong thread is a ... bannable offense in itself .... All right, if you say so. Ever checked your own site for swastikas? Your last paragraph is the most interesting one. You frankly state that (Neo)Nazism is of no concern to you and the owners of this site. I think that indeed is an interesting confession. I admit that I shouldn't have gone personal on Eichi when my concerns are of larger scope and seriously apologize for any namecalling I did. But, I will not rest to bring up the issue of Nazi-admiration, Neonazism and related stuff in this community no matter if you ban me or not. Maybe, the result of this discussion, if you refrain from interfering with your administrative 'power', is that my concerns are unfounded, which I actually hope will be. But looking at all those brightly-swastikaed HTs that are modded, Eichenbaum's site and other indicators I fear they are not. [ August 17, 2003, 06:30 PM: Message edited by: reinald@berlin.com ]
  14. Nah Juju, you're just a covert-homosexual attracted by blue eyed Landsers wearing the latest in black leather fashion.
  15. Jerk, wow. I'm mightily impressed by your wit and humor. Is that all Eichi's second identities or Nazi-admirer friends got to offer? And who again is calling names "Steve"?
  16. Well, Ruthless, if that ain't a swastika you sure need some good glasses. And, as you may have noticed, Eichi isn't denying that it is one. My animosity stems from the simple fact that he's spreading Nazi insignia and Axis admiration material. Why not have a look at two more screenies from Eichi's website: The site is at least Nazi-military admiration all over. Geez, don't tell me you also don't see the tons of iron crosses and steely-eyed Überlandsers?
  17. Hey, is this you on the run Eichi? If you can't stand the heat, take out the swastikas and Axis admiration of your web-appearance. And, having a tiny no-Nazism symbol at the bottom, as nearly all pro-Nazi and Aixs-admirer homepages have, won't cover up either. If you are against Nazism, then why not simply quit having a swastika in your sig and why not quit spreading Axis-admiration dung like e.g. your scenarios? (BTW, contrary to your power-fantasies you're not an admin of this board and can't close topics just because you get spanked.)
  18. Ya know what, Eichenbaum, I've been to your site too and you're an Axis admiring Nazi. And it shows. No horsie-sprites will help you out of that. Sigh, whenn will the wargaming genre finally get rid of all that aenemic underachieving Nazi kids? [edited: typo] [ August 17, 2003, 12:17 PM: Message edited by: reinald@berlin.com ]
  19. A well fitting retort in mindset and tone for someone like Eichenboy having a swastika in his sig pic.
  20. Now what do we have here? The usual Axis admiring pampered Eichenboy resorting to half-truths and lies once not everyone around caters to his half baked wishes? It is correct that the scenario is too big and I myself consider it a failure, which actually proves the point I make. Furthermore the scenario has TWO Finnish bataillons in it, but they only arrive after serious depletion and therefore the player will never come close to having to command the three full bataillons you're rambling about. First, you try to prohibit me from posting further comments in this thread, then you try to box me out of it with unfair half-truths. I get the impression that your problem is beyond CM and the units in the game, your problem seems to be one of character. Maybe Pa should have bought that pony 5 years ago and therefore have spared serious gamers from having you around.
  21. What furthermore irritates me is your oscillating between a mission oriented snatch-the-General FPS and a grand strategy game. No game can fill both slots. I got the impression your wish list is not well thought over. Whinnie!
  22. Ok, ok, to be constructively critical of Eichenbäumchen's demands: May I sugest that a great many good strategic and operational level games are actually available for free like e.g. "War in Russia" by Matrix Games: War in Russia WiR does get strategic implications of supply and air power quite well. I'm sure there are other hex-based games that fill any grand-scale special interests one may have. Don't see why a perfect tactical simulation like CM should be forced onto the operational level. I actually see CM fail at it many times when scenarios grow too big, i.e. IMHO over bataillon. Soon degenerates into a chore to micromanage all those teams. Now add horseback messengers, supply carts and mine dogs and you have a game nobody will want to play.
  23. Heck, Eichenkoffer, get it: CM is a TACTICAL WARGAME. If you want to play general with supply management, operational recce n stuff head somewhere else. You are in the wrong game.
  24. I ventured a little into scenario design and enjoyed it albeit the results were mediocre at best. Found it too time consuming to create really good scenarios with mapmaking, historical research and stuff and therefore quit. Just playing is 'cheaper' fun after a long workday. But I do comment on every scenario I play that hasn't enough reviews yet at the Depot and encourage other to join me in doing so. Makes it a lot easier for scenario-sluts like me to pick a good one and I assume it helps designers to improve.
