  1. Thanks Uberfunnybunny, I did a search and found your old post. Sorry to post a similar topic, but it's happened consistantly to me every few games since I've been playing BCR. After reading through everyone else's replies, I'm guessing it has something to do with ammo and morale...yet, I've had battles where I had tanks with at least half ammo, infantry, etc. I think it would make sense to cause an auto ceasefire if ALL your troops were out of ammo. My morale has always been really high. I had one battle auto ceasefire from the first turn no matter what I did. I believe I had 40% ammo as default and the enemy had 70%. I wish someone had a concrete conclusion on this. It's the only thing ruining an otherwise excellent game for me.
  2. Hey dudes, I've noticed in many quick battles I've played lately the game ends before the time limit is up and it says on the AAR that both sides have agreed to a ceasefire. The manual states that your global moral will cause this to happen if it goes below 25%...blah, blah, blah... When this happens, my sides' moral has never been below 75%. In this particular battle, my moral was at 82% and the enemies was at 70-something. It was an Axis probe, although I've seen this happen on various types of battles. Anyone know what causes this???
  3. Hey man, There is no specific amount of mines in a minefield. From what I understand, your troops have a chance to get hit...like 50/50 or something like that. I think you can nullify the effects of a minefield by nailing it with artillery.
  4. No dudes!!! If you look at your halftracks closely, you'll see they have a transport capacity. Some say a number like "7", and there are others that say something like "7(full squad)". As long as you pick the ones that say full squad behind them, you can fit a full squad. I believe the 250/1 and the 251/1 can hold a full squad. Just look at the requisition screen carefully and you'll see. Hope this helps...
  5. It's just as dangerous, but much, much cooler than in CMBO. Some planes can be very effective, like some of the dive bombers, and some of the planes are virtually useless. I've had mostly good experiences with them. Hope that helps.
  6. I read a huge biography on Hitler by Joachim C. Fest...Hitler despised the use of chemical weapons b/c like someone in this post said, he was exposed to chemical weapons in the first war. He apparently thought it was a despicable and unhonorable way of fighting a war. Strange idea considering this is the same man who slaughtered millions of people because he was a crappy, unsuccessful painter.
  7. I couldn't find it anywhere...tried searching on google, tried searching in this forum, just about all the major CM sites. It seems the only place you could get it was the Badco site which doesn't seem to be around anymore. Doesn't look to promising. Unless someone who still has it would post it somewhere, maybe the new mod database... please!!!
  8. What is the end turn randomizer??? Just curious...
  9. Hey Souljah1, 1st Cav, huh? What's up, bro! I was stationed there A co, 13th sig from 95 to 97. When were you stationed there?
  10. Hey Lawyer, A bunch of the BMP's are the same...I've used a lot of the CMBB mods from the new mod database and they work fine. Just take a look before you do anything. Also, some of the readme files let you know if it's compatable. http://cm.cozog.com/
  11. Once again, thanks for the great info guys!!! I'm afraid this game has officially destroyed any hopes of getting out of the house for the weekend...again. "We tried to tell ya...We tried to tell ya!! Hooah!!"
  12. Thanks guys, appreciate the info!!! Duty First!!!
  13. Hey guys, I just bought Combat Mission a few days ago and I am completely amazed!! I originally refused to buy this in spite of the good reviews, because I didn't think it was possible to make a decent 3D strategy wargame. I can't believe just how wrong I was. I spent four years in the army and have been dying to play something like this since being exposed to real world tactics and equipment. Anyway, I just have a few questions that hopefully some of you can answer: 1)I'm looking for a link to the most detailed face mod that some of you could suggest. 2)Air support...seems that it's not very usefull despite the high cost...I had purchased a couple of fighter bombers in one battle and they continued to fly overhead and shoot at a knocked out enemy halftrack. Had similar experiences every time I used air support. 3) Wondering if anyone else likes using defensive structures when on the defense(barbwire, mines, etc) and how you employ them. 4) Has anyone bought the field manuals available on this site? I want to check out a couple of them, but don't want to waste money...I used to have a bunch of manuals like this from correspondence courses in the army, but I got rid of them. Oh, and one more...5) Suggestions on online resources for platoon to company level tactics used by tanks, infantry, combined arms, stuff like that. Well, that about covers it...looking forward to posting more in the future as it seems most people in here are pretty helpful. Thanks dudes. 1st team!!!
  14. I was in the army and let me assure you that low crawling is very, very tiring. I think the longest distance I ever covered was about 50 meters or so and I was exhausted. For any of you who haven't done it, imagine laying your entire body flat on the ground with your arms and legs spread out. Your kevlar is pressed into the dirt with your head facing sideways and you have to slide your entire weight along by pushing with one foot and one arm at a time. It is extremely difficult even for a fit, well fed, well rested soldier. I can only imagine how tiring it would be for an unfed, unrested Russian or German soldier during WWII.
