  1. Playing TCPIP, the allied player, specifically the USSR has developed a strange occurence. He cannot build any more land units. As we continued to play, this became no air units and then no units at all. The Urals are cut off from the south of russia, but are connected to the mideast, Iraq has been taken. We have save files from both Allied and Axis if u want to look them over. Thx and have a happy holidays!
  2. Rambo, I feel for ya. BlitzKreig is Lighting War for a reason. Hard hitting, explosive, measured strikes into the enemy. Knocking em down and keeping em down. But to watch in slow-mo their response rather, than going min for min is frightfully boring. As an icon, u have created these Rambo-stiens. Plodding forward, picking and re-picking units, looking at all the combinations in hopes that one will knock u off the pedastal, your legend has created. I suggest u buy multipule computers so that u can play multipule games of SC, like chessmasters do in the park. Keep up the fire!
  3. Sent an E-MAIL to HUERISTIC. Hopefully will get a reply tonight. Also here is my Email Brad Tennant, in case u need to get a hold of me. Tennozan@hotmail.com Those about who are about to play, Salute you!
  4. Read your AAR and thought you deserved at least one post acknowledging the effort of your writing.
  5. Every saturday i meet with a group of gamers to play board wargames. Recently it has been "War Between the States", with modified rules. I agree that the social interaction of gaming can be minimal when using a computer as the platform. But then everything has a price. Humans being what they are tend to bring to the table habits that some of us wish to leave behind or not. Example Smoking, drinking, cussing, farting, superior attitutes, freakish behavior, lack of sanity and sanitation, ect. The computer is just plain moronic as an opponent. So we as gamers are probaly the most tolerate of all humans, which is why we look forward to killing these cardboard or electronic pieces, and breaking the will of our fellow gamers. Nothing in this life is Free, That is why i'm Infantry!
  6. What about the name of the Leader on the HQ unit rather than a flag? Is this possible? I would like to look at map and see who i have in charge. Thx
  7. My wish list for counters is short. Add to all the units, the same set of dots u use on the Aircraft to quickly see the level they are currently at. If it could ever be possible, All HQ's should have the picture/head of the leader on it, rather than the flag. Thats my requests. Thanks again for the great mod!
  8. Is it possible to Draw in Roads or Railroads, connecting the cities and ports? I know they would have no effect on play but could give the map something it is missing. I really like the "dirty" look u are giving the landscape. Keep it up! You are quite the Artist! thx for the work you are putting in on the mod.
  9. Playing TCPIP I asked my opponent what his tech was looking like, so we could compare. It is Aug 44 he is the allies. UK Tech 4 Industrial, armor. Tech 3 Fighters Tech 2 Anti-tank USA Tech 4 Industrial, Long Range Tech 3 Fighters, Armor, Anti-tank USSR Tech 2 Fighters, Anti-Tank Germans Level 4 Fighters, armor, Long Range and Industrial Level 2 Anti-Tank Level 1 Anti-Aircraft Italy Level 3 Fighters, Anti Tank, Industrial tech I do not know the details of Allied tech but this was mine. Axis sci breakdown, Germany Antitank 2 Tanks 2 Longrange 1 Anti Aircraft 1 Fighters 2 Industrial 2 Italy Anti-tank 2 Fighters 2 Industrial 2 There were times of drought but over all during the game we were close. At one point UK had tech 3 Fighters while Italy and Germany had tech 1. Most of the time 1 tech level difference prevailed. For information purposes, my machine hosted and game was played for 3 sessions. 1 Retrival error caused Germans to lose a tech level in Anti-Tank, When reloaded with autosave. Remember without bad luck some of us would have none.
  10. Greetings, Having stumbled upon this thread, i can not help but contribute my thoughts to everyone elses. First i am retired US Infantry/Scout. One of the many classes taught during my Basic training was a Geneva Convention class of the rules of warfare. I really don't remember the exact name. But what i took away from that class has stuck with me always and forever. We as Soldiers are governed by lawfull orders. If an order is given and we as American Fighting Men realize it is unlawful, we are obligated to refuse to carry it out. This was taught to me when i was a private, straight out of civilian life. As i earned the rank of Sgt. something new was introduced into my thought processes. That of Mission and Men. At what point does one cancel out the other. When is the mission more important. When are the Men more important. The bull sessions between myself and others in the infantry, questioning our lives and what it is worth compared to any other life on this planet would spin off into so many fragments as to be surreal in scope. I had and still hold to my plan, that if a mission were to be compromised, Do not execute any non-combatant, or POW. That life spared is a voice in favor of life and mercy. A face of compassion that has the potential to stop violence rather than continue it. A mission cannot be successful if too many men are lost to accomplish it. Men cannot suceed in a mission if it places them morally on the wrong side of what they are brought up to believe in. As the present becomes history and is digested by the future, whatever is done in the face of exsisting laws will be how we are judged as humans. Whether it is within the framwork of rules of warfare dated 1960, 1830, 1500, or 1000 makes no difference. It will always be the indiviual that makes the final desperate decision of life and death. As a soldier schooled to the profession of War, it is even more important to set a higher standard. A code and honor above reproach so that the common man and woman respect the law as much as the warrior in arms. I'll finish by saying, Debate about how to conduct future wars should be discussed. What Laws should be added, Especially in view of the changing face of war. Our ancestors had no idea what war would be like in 2002. We have no way to see what it will be like in 2150. But our thoughts will have an impact on those in the future and any laws we can implement to save the lives of those we do not know but are responsible for is very important. Thx for ur time, i'll check back in from time to time, but mostly i hang out in the SC forum and General topics. -------------------------------------------------- Be loyal to your King. Be obedident to your parents. Be honorable to your friends. Never retreat in battle. Make a just Kill. (Hwarang Warrior's Code of Conduct Korea, c. 6th century)
  11. BriantheWise said, My two book Suggestions: Author, Sven Hassel, Served in Penal Unit while part of the Wehrmacht during WWII. "...brutally honest and wickedly funny series of stories." Books written 14 total 3 i have read, The Legion Of The Damned SS-General Monte Cassino (The Beast Regiment) This is excerpt from biography, Go here for complete biography of author. http://smith.webhostme.com/hassel/biography.asp With the Old Breed: At Peleliu and Okinawa by Eugene B. Sledge, Marine Rifleman with the First Marine Division. This book is a must read that speaks with a voice of truth and emotion, "...of one man's experiences in the meat grinder", of the Pacific War.
  12. WarMovies that i will make time to watch or have playing in the background during gaming session. 1. "Hell to Eternity", True Story about a US Marine that is fluent in Japanese, and is able to talk Enemy soliders into surrendering during the Battle of Saipan. 2. There are others, but these deserve mention and I did not include any of the latest Warmovies, cuz they are so recent. Tried to keep it at 10. I failed. I'd like to add Victory at Sea Historical Film footage and Music & Sharp's Rifles Napoleon era, With Wellington in Spain No wargamer should be without these.
  13. Many of the questions and concerns posted here have vexed me as i play SC. These Things i know:  1. Closer to Hq is better 2. Higher rating HQ seems to take charge of 5 units before next 5 are chosen. Example, I have 11 units and 4 HQ's in France. Mainstein takes 5, Rommel takes 5, Model take 1, Weiss gets nothing. Answer Send 1 Hq somwhere to utilize its command Rating, and build 4 more units asap. 3. HQ has 5 supply rating if no port/city is accessible. Do all u can to open a port or clear a way to friendly lines or to a city. And even that may not help if to far away. Chaining can help in this circumstance. 4. Never invade without an HQ. Your Supply level will drop to zero next turn and no HQ support is available. 5. Protect HQ's when retreating or u may find your army without leaders and cut to pieces before the next line can be developed. I would like to see the following someday, the ability to permanetly assign units to a HQ, 4 types of Leaders Air, Sea, Land and Political, Rename Leaders. It is fun to dream.
  14. Larger CW, French and German Navies! Fewer Full strenght units at start! Different Starting Technology For combatants! Every nation starts with a Scientist and more! Super Special Secret Axis Weapons! Soviets, when activated are Ready to Defend Mother Russia. USA Industry is geared for War! Go to Strategic Command HQ http://ww2n.com/schq and download this 39campaign scenario. Try it if you want a change from the vanilla 39campaign, and tell me what you think.
