  1. The game Amona-Ludi ended long ago with 1 point victory for Amona (Axis).
  2. A while ago, I reported my game against Ludi1867 as finished with a 1 point victory for me (axis).
  3. With too much free time, I am searching for opponents again. AOD 1.03.1, prefer to play Allies. I am quite experienced, but of only moderate skill. If interested, send your first turn to: kliomene@gmx.de Options: hard builds ON everything else up to you.
  4. In a singler player game of AOD 1939 world at war as Axis, I came upon the following: In May 1942, Allied AI oprated a strat.bomber of US to the US mines on the bottom of the map in the Pacific, and in June bombed the Jap mines there. At this moment the game crashed. I can provide the save game file.
  5. Hi Hubert. Seems I am to stupid to install the hotfix. I followed your instructions, but instead of installing the exe just makes a new folder of AOD inside my AOD installation with the exe. What am I doing wrong? The hotfix is definitly not installed, as I keep getting file read errors from opponnts turns.
  6. Game begun: PGTomli (Axis) - Amona (Allies) now in January 1940.
  7. I experienced the same in a single ladder game. There, supply of AXis units is 0 to 2 and readiness/ morale still over 100. Incidentally, I never experienced this before in any other SC game. Strangely, StratLays and my game are against the same opponent. I dont think it is a balance issue. I think it has to do with fair play. Enough said.
  8. An afterthought on island hopping: Maybe if naval and ambhib supply would somehow be tied to distance from a friendly base. Any thoughts?
  9. 1. Agree with Catacol about Paras and London. 2. I didnt demand to reduce Jap fleet, rather to enlarge US allowable carrier builds. (But not with land attacks by carriers in mind. Actually its quite hard to kill a jap unit with high AD tech in Tokyo or Seoul by carrier air. In my game against Clausewitz, I attacked Tokyo by LAND BASED air from Northern Japan. 3. Regarding Japan, In global Gold the Japs had an alternate capital in OSAKA, and only after that was taken too, the capital tranfered to Seoul, so Japan actually had 3 capitals. Dont know why this feature has been removed in AOD. It would make taking out Japan surely tougher. 4. About Ashes Fall point on island hopping: I DONT know any reason why the US should island hop. This is a weakness of the game, I agree.
  10. I agree with that. For playability, at least one of Tokyo and Seoul should be a bit inland, and Italy definitly needs a second capital.
  11. Hi Hubert, can do this, but are currently busy. Expect turn and instructions within 24 hours.
  12. I have the needed file from the turn before and can just replay it and reproduce the attack on the fighter, if the file is needed.
  13. Sorry Bill, what Stratlay is saying all the time is that they are NOT included in the Chinese MPPs. The event for those mines down there southeast of New Zealand dont seem to work for China.
  14. Incidently, in my ladder game as Allies against PGTomli he did the same diploing of Spain and Turkey and got diplo hits in about 10 (!) consecutive turns on both Spain and Turkey, Spain joining him in Fall 40 and Turkey in Summer 41. Hungary and Romania joined early too, if I recall it right. I also noticed that he was very successful very quickly with research. And my post about air defense tech was originated from playing experience against him, were countless air strikes were not able to kill a single german ground unit with air defense 2 but low morale/readiness. I have learned now from experience in other ladder games, that on average only 10 to 15 allied air strikes are needed to kill a germn ground unit even if it has AD tech 3, not only 2. I noticed too in the ladder game Axis ground/naval/air units with supply 0, 1 or 2 and readiness and morale levels of over 100/140, which held these levels over several turns without their supply getting better. I have NEVER observed this in a game of the SC series before, having played over 200 games against human opponents in the last 11 years, including the great Terif himself. PGTOmli kills very much Allied units each turn while his own units only seldom loose any steps at all. This is quite astonishing, as neither his tactical game play nor his operations or strategies show more than average skill level. I would also like to mention that in his ladder game against Baron, Baron felt inclined to surrender with AXIS (!) in December 1940 (!). But, Stratlay, continue playing, you will prevail nonethelss, given your great skill. In my game, Turkey joined him too, and he started Barbarossa already in April 41 (with nearly all tanks and Mech ready and fully upgraded - yes, he has always much MPP too early), he needed till August 42 nevertheless to take Moscow. Oh, did I mention that naval traps against him never work, but his own traps always do? Or that he somehow seems to know the position of your every unit on the map?
  15. Oh, sorry, havent read all the posts before last december.
  16. Maybe this would even be best for all central and south american countries. Let them join Allies historically, unlless Axis diplos them. That would balance historical accuracy with more options for the players to explore historical whatifs.
  17. No need to apologize. German language has a lot of difficult and silly grammar rules and exceptions, making it hard for foreigners to get it right. Anyone who ever heard a German speak English with this cruel German accent knows the Germans dont do any better if they themselves have to speak a foreign language. "Muller, GesTTTapo. TTTTis nottt allowttt. You are arrestttett."
  18. On my game against Lofty12: He is unexperienced, it was his first PvP match in SC ever. Did a Sealion in Summer 40, conquered British Isles by December 40. Barbarossa steamrolled over Russians in 41, took Moscow, Leningrad, the Caucasus and Voronezh in Spring 42, Russians down to about 20 units to 100 German, Stalingrad would have fallen in 2 to 3 turns too. Japs secured Southern China by November 40, Pacific offensive took everything including Hawaii in December 41, Advancing into India in Spring 42. USA made in June 42 only 390 MPP, UK 150, Russia about 200. Delhi would have fallen in the summer, I was preparing assault on Australia to take Canberra, the last victory objective. The game would probably have ended automatically with a decisive Axis victory in Spring 43. LOfty12 fought bravely, and I admire him for not giving up the ladder altogether. I am sure he will learn very quickly.
  19. Okay, that explains it. But I disagree with this solution, as Mexiko had a leftist government in the 30s and later a conservative with close relations to USA. Never was it as far pro-Axis as it is here at start of the game. Having all the south american countries join Allies over time, but Mexiko not at all unless you diplo it, is highly unhistorical.
  20. Amona (Axis) - Catacol Highlander (Allies) - November 1943 Clausewitz (Axis) - Amona (Allies) - September 1945 Amona (Axis) - Lofty12 (Allies) - Lofty12 conceded the game in June 42, 2 point win Amona. PGTomli (Axis) - Amona (Allies) - August 1942 Amadeus (Axis) - Amona (Allies) - May 1941
  21. The event to help Free France is broken in global gold like it was in AOD. I take it the AOD event was just copied from Global Gold. The cost of 50 MPP per turn for 4 turns is in fact deducted for 6 turns, so helping Free France costs UK not 200, but 300 MPP. (A bit funny no one ever noticed that in the last years) Its a quite simple change needed in the event script. ( Making a 4 out of a 6, to be exact)
