  1. OOOOOOOOhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!! Will we get repair shop units?! This would be a great way to show the problems encountered by the Pz VI units (since they were so powerful yet sooooooooooooo slow, defensively they were best employed in small packets across a wide front; unfortunately, this put them a long way from their central maintenance facility).
  2. So, no doctrinal restrictions on OB mix-mastering? What I have in mind are things like, "these guys didn't concentrate their tanks until June 1942, they always parcelled them out to the infantry" or, "these guys always had a minimum of one company no recon".
  3. I'm hoping we finally have a use for those German radio cars...you know, whichever PSW just has an MG and was primarily used as a rolling lightly armoured radio link.

  5. ...and if this was in the FAQ, I missed it (I love how a FAQ was generated prior to any non-developer folks asking questions ): I know the CMC turns are supposed to be 60' each, so what happens if opposing units hit one another at the 1' mark in that 60'? Does the battle resolution AI take over until the end of the 60', then generate the CMBB battle? Or does the game jump in 60' quanta, so this will never be an issue? If so, will there still be some aspect of the engine that sets up the CMBB battle with casualties/morale hits from the initial contact?

  12. In the battles I've set up, I've used the "closed top AFVs only" approach mentioned by JasonC. One also has a "withdraw the top HQ so it can report" exit VP. I don't know if they're out there in webland right now, with the demise of the Scenario Depot...I guess they're in the rescued compilation at CMMODS. The names are: WBRP - Company Town (a CMBB battle with three versions, two vs AI & 2-player only) WBRP - Charnelwood (a CMAK battle with one AI & the 2-player versions) WBRP - Take the Rhino by the Horn (another CMAK battle which is 2-player only) If you want them, just send me e-mail.
  13. You're correct, there is no specific bonus for units. I do give just the general bonus. What I do is get the scenario going and then have both sides ceasefire. The difference in VP is caused by the unexitted units. I just balance it to zero with the Axis Bonus mechanism. Not great, but the best I could come up with. What I really need is a third Should Exit for Points option in the editor, "Should not exit for points but the designer wants the player to think it should."
  14. I've made...ummm...two battles now that have: 1. Exit Points for one or both sides 2. no expectation that those units will be able to exit (I do it to reflect orders & FOW). So, I give a balance bonus to make up for the huge VP hit that will occur for not exitting them. It's also a good way to boost the VP value for that unit and really give an incentive for cautious use.

  17. This was one of the first ones I played in CMBB. Fortunately, I knew the rockets would land all over hell's half acre (hmmm...that might actually be too tight for a rocket grouping) so I targetted the pre-set barrage to land near the Soviet edge; still ended up pummelling some of my own guys. Under no circumstances should you try to use them to help your front line. Just hope that they mess up the Russkie backyard.
  18. Yeah - one of my few disappointments with CMBB was the lack of Commissars...such grand chrome they are.
  19. Really! Do you mean historically, or in the CM games? This is the first I remember seeing anyone mention this. Pilot quality in CM should affect mistaken attacks...but date :confused:
