  1. Put Katie Couric's happy little powerpuff ass out there to report; she'll tell it like it is.
  2. Matrix has a new ETO game just released that seems like a "Clash of Steel" remake. No pbem support at this point though ([in best Austin Powers voice] who does that any way, I mean seriously? ). Decision Games and there new "World at War" magazine series just came out with "Barbarossa: The Russo-German War, 1941-45" which is a medium complexity, single-mapper covering the entire war in the east. I'm in the process of making a VASSAL module for it so it could be Pbem'd or played over the net. Hoping to get some solo playing time in on this one this weekend. Check out game # 36911 on boardgamegeek.com for more info.
  3. Interesting comment to the story: LINK
  4. Anybody know where I can get one of those bumper stickers?
  5. Does it have to be a "computer" game or can it be a game played on the computer (i.e., boardgame via VASSAL)?
  6. 1. World in Flames (Matrix Games) 2. Computer War in Europe II (DG) 3. ASLSK HASL Modules that are in production (MMP)
  7. Also, can a link such as that at the top of the page (e.g., "Battlefront Forum > General Discussion Forum > General Discussion Forum") be added to the bottom of the page? It's a pain to read all the messages in the post and then have to scroll all the way back to the top to get a link back to the main page of the forum that I was reading.
  8. Will HTML be enabled for the forums? I *hate* posting in UBB (or whatever) code.....
  9. Ok, looked around....I don't like it. Put it all back the way it was and gimme back my post count!!! And fix me damn sig-line or SUMFINK!
  10. The cookie that is stored on your computer is set to expire after 100 days or so. Resetting your cookie by going to HERE and then logging back in will clear up the log in/download issue. The FTP protocol and opening of port 21 isn't needed to download from the site since the connection type for download isn't using FTP. However, it is common for most firewalls to allow a connection through port 21 because many sites do use FTP for transfers (such as when downloading game demo's). Let me know if you continue to have problems.
  11. As a tip, you shouldn't use spaces in your file name (some browsers correctly translate it to %20, some do not) and you shouldn't use foreign characters in the file name either (ex: ä). This long URL is bound to give browsers a fit: </font><blockquote>code:</font><hr /><pre style="font-size:x-small; font-family: monospace;">http://www.blowtorchscenarios.com/ B%E4ke%20Battles_Der%20Mensch%20on%20the%20Ost%20Front/B%E4ke%20Prelude%20at%20Pokhlebin/ Bäke%20at%20Pokhlebin%20Screenies/ Thumb%20Soviet%20cavalry%20attacking%20Pokhlebin.jpg</pre>
  12. Mad Russian's "HSG EW Tooth and Nail" features Panzer Grenadier Division Grossdeutschland. It can be found at the new Depot HERE.
  13. Search results for your parameters on TSDII: LINK.
  14. Fire in the East. You want large? Here's what you get: Game Components: <ul> [*]six 21" x 27" maps [*]over 2500 die-cut counters [*]a complete set of rules [*]a complete set of charts [*]two dice </p> Ooops - you said large "scale" and PeeCee. Ah well...
  15. Search for "beach" or "Normandy" on both TPG and TSDII, there's a few of them there (I only looked under CMAK, I'm sure that there's more for CMBO).
  16. I'd like to see BF.C give some official recognition to GJK's excellent hosting sites - a link to them from the BF.C site would be an awesome start. </font>
  17. Paradox Interactive publishing?
  18. LOL - yeah, since I make my own machinegun noises and bomb blasts while playing ASL, I guess that I can live with no sounds in the CMSF demo.
  19. Tried the first training mission from the demo the other day. I get the start up music and then the background wind/birds during the orders phase but no other sounds (weapons, menu clicks?). Any suggestions - I haven't tried updating my ancient sound drivers, but will try that next. System: Win2K Adv. Server with SP400 (ok SP4) PIV 2.0 GHz 1 gig RAM GeForce 6600GT video with latest drivers tons of free drive space Sound Blaster something or another card which has worked for years with no other issues.
  20. Yes, I've updated the software that I was using for the Java based IRC chat on the site. As I emailed Bruce just a bit ago, per the FAQ, if you get the following error: Then the rememdy is to update your version of the Java JRE that you have on your computer, which you can get at www.java.com
  21. Steve, There's a couple of problems with "loading" TSDII with TSDI scenarios: 1. Permission of the authors for the original scenarios would need to be sought, which isn't the real stumbling block, what is; 2. The details of each scenario are contained in a database. If it's not in the database, you can't search for it, it wont show on any lists, the number of downloads wont be counted, etc, etc. So, somebody would have to enter all that data into the database via the scenario upload function - and thus I leave it up to the original scenario authors to do so if they choose. And as Bannon mentions, there's some scenario packs on CMMODs that contain zip archives of many of those old scenarios that aren't on TSDII.
  22. Wings7: Sorry, I didn't get your inquiries but perhaps my spam filter flagged them for some reason. Try this: Log Out and then log back in on the screen that shows after you've logged out. Then try and download a scenario.
  23. Don't be such a stranger to TSDII, we enjoy having you when you do visit! GJK
  24. A book with the same name as Beevor's "Berlin" book but by Anthony Read was a good er, read: The Fall of Berlin
