Aberdeen Proving Grounds Open Again
GJK replied to Croda's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
It's been my experience that having the name "Proving Grounds" is somehow related to becoming lost or otherwise unsustainable..... -
I want to know what "mod" this is?: Sorry, I went snooping again

Hope he didn't mean to post the "HamsterGere" image that he has in his directory there. Actually Noob, your pic images weren't uploaded at all, that's why we couldn't see them. Would you mind uploading and trying the link again? [ November 06, 2002, 07:13 AM: Message edited by: GJK ]

Temp place to download RealColors Mod
GJK replied to GunMod's topic in Combat Mission: Barbarossa to Berlin
Yeah, sorry Rob, I was actually poking fun at the use of dial-up modems for internet access -vs- highspeed users which I probably shouldn't have done in the first place. Moving on.... I was going to suggest usenet if a reliable webhost hadn't been found. There is a little bit of a learning curve, but not much more than the other "tools" that are starting to be used around here; ICQ, Kazaa now, etc. Retention is an issue and it does depend on individual newsproviders. Mine will retain most posts for around 4 days. Others will vary. At any rate, once I can get a copy of this sucker, I will post it to alt.binaries.w-software where I've been posting my mod collection on a regular basis along with "Citizen" (real name escapes me at the moment). That is unless Gunslinger would rather it not be posted to usenet. If anybody would like any information on using usenet, what you need, how to do it, etc, feel free to contact me and I'll give a lesson. -
Temp place to download RealColors Mod

You can download things using your computer and a phone line? -
I look forward to that one Abbott, your scenarios that I've played so far have been really well thought out and made. Great job!

Do you have a 12th level or greater Paladin player-character that you'd be willing to trade? [ November 04, 2002, 10:25 PM: Message edited by: GJK ]

Is there a wizard or something that I have to kill first before I can get these Amulets? Why isn't this stuff documented? BFC, fix or somefink!

Is this for CMBO or CMBB? And how the hell do I bring up the command console? And how many bots come in companies and platoons and such? Why can't it just say "10 bots"? And how come only one other person can join in my multiplayer game? How the hell do you have a frag-fest with just the two of you? Where is my civic-center? How do I increase my population? I need more workers! What good are tanks if I can't get in a fire the damn guns! Has anybody made any descent skin mod aside from that ugly grey jumpsuit thing? I'm looking for something that looks like plastic, sort of like the Batman uni from the movies. Cape would be kewl too! God, this game is lacking sooooo much, why do I waste the time with it?

Wrecks Rules for CMBB - Beta now available
GJK replied to Biltong's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
With all these advancements since the days of D&D and non-computer role-playing games, would it be fair to use a simple computer program to calculate the random number? Or must I try to dig up a 10-sided die from the box of original board wargames I have stored in the attic? -

RealColor Mod for CMBB Finished!
GJK replied to GunMod's topic in Combat Mission: Barbarossa to Berlin
Gunslinger, great looking mod, looking forward to it. As far as the Mac folks go, there's the free Stuffit for Windows (Stuffit is the Mac version of Zip - sorta). Stuffit -
They look, um, good. Not sure about the blue though, looks too much like a Christmas tree for my tastes. And the lettering, do the trees in Eastern Europe really have a sign that reads "Tripod" on all of them? Or is that just a watermark so that nobody steals your images? Sorry, being a smart-azz....

Where did you get the CMBO Scipio sound mod from? Maybe I can work with that and come up with something for CMBB (unless Scipio has objections?)
-
I just noticed that I left a letter "a" at the end of the filename. You'll obviously need to remove that before copying them over to your .wav folder.

I've uploaded my version of the Tank MG's as a comparison to http://cm.cozog.com/. Added some depth, echo, flange to the stock sounds. I'm open for suggestions.

What's Cookin' in the MOD Kitchen?
GJK replied to AndrewTF's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
I still want to see a "hands" mod. Why isn't there any fingers? Is it hard-coded into the game or can it be done? Or am I just being too picky -
