  1. Bloody hell, you can't keep a good man down. I hope there are more guns. And tanks. And explosions. And burning things. There definitely aren't enough of these in the original. Famous. I can die a happy man. In other news, Mikey, Axe and MG have been otherwise engaged ... drinking/burning, kissing up to the in-laws-to-be and attempting to identify an arse from an elbow, respectively. And finally, any other maggots I've been playing are far too sensible to post here, so you're going to have to take it from me that they all regard me as an evil tactical genius who could have taught Zhukov a thing or two... On a vaguely related note, I can recommend this map for a small ME that doesn't suck half as much as these QBs usually do.
  2. "The soundtrack for your stylish, mysterious, dangerous life. For Spies and P.I.'s too!" really sounds rather groovy. When I grow weary of my Schifrin and Barry soundtracks, or Duane's twangin' gee-tar, I'll check it out. Apologies for my complete lack of turn-sending last night ... I was mourning Timmy's heroic defeat. I'll endeavour to do better today. Chin chin, Teddy
  3. Ah, Simon le Bon ... bon viveur, yachtsman, fashion guru, modern poet and 20th century icon I prefer to watch his "progress" from the comfort of my drawing room ... that way I've always got a stiff drink to hand. I've also been practicing my best Gareth Hunt "coffee bean shake", to emulate my sporting hero next time I wish to apear all mean, moody and magnificent. Quick updates: Cheery Waffle is turning ugly, with Dave's StuG-shaped "assault gun?" giving my brave tankers a suspiciously hard time. He swears blind it's a Kubelwagon on steroids, but judging from the craters the damn thing is leaving everywhere I have my doubts. Still, I'm hoping to "turn up the heat" on the Krauts in the village... Meanwhile, my battle with the "Sultan of Gaminess" - aka, mike_the_wino (the maggot) - is reaching its crux. My "light tanks" appear to be outclassed by his "light tanks" and I'm starting to wish I'd perused the shopping list more carefully to get more bang per buck. Or simply bought a few KVs... Axe is discovering the drawbacks of PBEM and AAR-writing with a complete muppet. Having mistyped or completely forgotten my password after a night on the gin, we're having to go back to the setup phase. *sigh* And as for MG, the mold encrusted non-TNT chucker, I think I will have uninstalled CMBB to make way for CMAK before our monstrous encounter is completed. Toodle pip, Teddy
  4. People stare and cross the road from me And jungle drums they all clear the way for me Can you read my mind can you see in the snow? And fiery demons all dance when you walk through that door Don't say you're easy on me you're about as easy as a nuclear war Cos the dream that strings the road with broken glass for us to hold And I got so far before I had to say... I've absolutely no idea, old chap. Teddy
  5. Hey maggots, aren't we supposed to start a new thread?   Turns out to Dave, Mikey and MG. Nothing exciting to report in any of them so far, although judging by the size of the next [/] Cheery Waffles movie that could all be about to change. Teddy
  6. Ah Nippy, you've inspired me to recite a little Franklin P. Adam... Poetry is modern, And poetry is "free," And poetry's "expression," And Poetry is Me. And poets all are busy, And poets have no time To waste on words melodic, Or spend on silly rhyme. For Poetry is freedom From metre's utter fetters, And poetry is lines that don't Begin with capital letters. Teddy
  7. If you would stop entertaining Widow Palm and her five lonely sisters long enough to send me my next move, I could package the infamous scenario with my reply. Chin chin, Teddy Edited to add:  [ June 25, 2003, 03:34 AM: Message edited by: Edward Windsor ]
  8. Well that's cleared up any lingering doubt Dave and I may have had about what we were facing, maggot.   I wish I'd never posted bail for you now... Apologies to any maggots I neglected last night - that would be my aforementioned opponent and, surprisingly, MG. I was weary after a long day at Wimbledon, helping young ladies perfect their ball control, and was too tired to do my TNT chucking justice. Turns out tonight. Toodle pip, Teddy
  9. I'd like to second that emotion, especially as we're obviously playing at a slower pace ... knowing what horrors await doesn't make it any easier to plan the next move - I'm on tactical overload as it is, without having to choose my doom. Although I'm really going to have to pay more attention to what you maggots post - until Dave pointed it out, it had completely passed me by you were talking about Cheery Waffle. Teddy Edited to add: Did Axe really just ask mike_the_wino to come on his honeymoon?!?!?! [ June 23, 2003, 02:00 PM: Message edited by: Edward Windsor ]

  11. Didn't get an invite ... Chuck and Wills are still sulking after the St Andrew's fiasco Teddy
  12. By all accounts it was a splendid evening ... until comedy terrorist Soddball staged his little stunt.   Thank goodness security ejected him before he could start his Le Petomane act... Teddy [ June 23, 2003, 11:11 AM: Message edited by: Edward Windsor ]
  13.   I sent it to the hotmail address in your profile, Scoop. I'm too busy fishing olives out of my vodka martinis to go hunting down email accounts.   You'll have to wait until tomorrow now - I'm "on a mission" tonight. Teddy
  14. Maggot, you're almost making me feel guilty for my weekend of beer, barbecues, golf, paddling pools and badminton (as an international man of mystery I have to try my hand at many things) ... if it wasn't for the fact I took a little time out to ensure there was a turn waiting for you in your inbox  MasterGoodale is obviously too busy pulling his plonker to click "play" and watch the latest movie in our 3,000pt Axis attack  Dave H is a couple of hundred pages ahead of me in the latest trial of endurance that J K Rowling has inflicted on the literary world. If only unoriginal, badly written drivel was always so handsomely rewarded, as contributers to this "thread" we'd all be able to give up the day jobs. Still, the most recent installment of the boy wizard's adventures do help pass the time while I'm waiting for you maggots to get your acts together, and I will be very upset if my fellow Cheery Waffler reveals the ending  Axe2121 is maintaining radio silence after I shipped him a scenario for our AAR. He is, of course, a maggot. Teddy
  15. By all means friend http://community.battlefront.com/uploads/emoticons/default_biggrin.png' alt=':D'> And thanks for the compliment!</font>
  16. I still really enjoy Elsdorf, played as the Allies - a rare chance to use heavyweights in a reasonably balanced encounter. Just make sure you use the most recent version. Teddy
  17. Bloody hell - there's more    Teddy
  18. Nice work, Ligur. Amusing and educational - a rare combination. Would you mind if I preserved that on my website to save it being lost in the threads of time? Yours, Teddy
  19.    At the glacial rate MG plays, I've probably got a slot for a smallish CMBB encounter if you're interested in producing an AAR. Maggot.
  20. He'd better get a move on - I'll be playing CMAK by then Teddy Edited to add:  [ June 18, 2003, 08:32 AM: Message edited by: Edward Windsor ]
  21. You had my sympathy, but then you lost me on the third one, maggot. Check your inbox  BTW Can anyone give me a rough idea how long it generally takes to see through an encounter with the vomit encrusted, maggot banging, non-TNT chuckin', KV-lovin' faggot? Teddy Edited to add:  [ June 18, 2003, 06:37 AM: Message edited by: Edward Windsor ]
