No worries.  It would be nice however if we did have the T-26.  And the T-28, T35 etc. etc.  Not to mention KV1 and KV2.  Oh no, I did just mention them 😉.

Or you go the other way and say that Barbarossa began in 1944 and use the kit and units you've got.  It might be quite interesting to see how 1944 formations matched in the 1941 battles.

@kohlenklau just started a project to create early war scenarios. IIRC, he plans to base it on CMFI. Anyway, search for his thread or contact Kohl for info.

    New mod available.
    https://www.thefewgoodmen.com/cm-mod-warehouse/combat-mission-battle-for-normandy/cmbn-other/jujus-ui-mod-v6-unification-mod/
JuJu has announced that he was stepping back from modding in the CM community after many years stretching back to the CM1 days. Ithikial has been handed torch to Ithikial to keep the mod going. This release unifies the separate game families together to make the process going forward a touch easier. The unification project doesn't mean the mods for each title will now look identical, the exact opposite, however the common elements like weapon slots and silhouettes will now carry across the game families. It also adds support for the "Rome to Victory" and "Fire and Rubble" modules. All WW2 games are included in the one download at the link below.
Please read the included Read Me in the download. For any bug reports, errors and suggestions for improvement please post them to this thread (no PM's please!): https://community.battlefront.com/topic/139356-future-of-jujus-ui-mod-project-unification/   Screenshots and file names are a big help to help quickly identify the problems.
    Thanks for downloading and enjoy!

I think as far as armor, only Panzer IIIG (in F&R) would fit and then some of the German armored cars/halftracks, but little outside of that. Soviets would be left without much but infantry, AT and artillery.

Double Deuce reacted to kevinkin in 1941 Scenario Feasibility??
There is the Stalingrad mod that goes back to late 1942 and early 1943. I think trying 1941 would be limited to just infantry battles since most - if not all - 1941 AFVs will not be available in a sim of 1944. There could be a few carry over units as you mentioned so as to create hypothetical battles. However, anything historical is going to be a though one.  Off the top of my head, a motorized attack on a village in the Ukraine (August 1941) using a very long map might be fun to design even with some compromises.

Ok, just finished this one.  A small 40 minute scenario w/US having about 2 platoons of infantry and MPs plus 2 M-48s, 6 M-113s and some HumVs.  Myself, I really enjoy these smaller scenarios allowing close focus on the terrain and troop positioning.  It was an excellent tactical exercise  and the map offered several possible tactical approaches.
    -------------------Spoilers--------------------
It didn't take me very long to lose 1 of my 2 M-48s and a M-113 to an ATGM.  Still I was able to take both bridges against stubborn resistance.  The final assault to take the airfield was much tougher with a massive firefight as my infantry took substantial casualties.  Initially it seemed I was losing the fight for fire superiority but despite losing a couple M-113 HMG gunners very quickly and those heavy infantry losses, finally gained superiority.  The M-113 .50cal HMGs were decisive with the M-48 also making a substantial contribution.   The battle was won by the 10 minute mark but the last 10 minutes were necessary to clear out the last remaining airfield defenders for the points.  Ended up with a major US victory.  Losses were significant losing 1 of 2 M-48s, 1/3 of my infantry and 1 of my 6 M-113s.
    --------------------------------------------------------
This scenario was a lot of fun and a good tactical exercise.  Definitely two thumbs up!!!

This is my first completed CMCW scenario and I'm hoping that it will be the 1st scenario in a campaign I am writing up the outline for. It does fall outside of the 79-82 CMCW module timeline (is set in July 1985). More details will be found in the Designer's Notes but in the end, I hope all who played this scenario got some enjoyment out of it. I welcome any feedback people are willing to provide.
It's designed for "Play as BLUE vs AI only (only the RED force has AI plans - x3). At some point I would like to tweak it for play as either side and H2H but we'll see as I'll need to learn some more stuff I'm sure.

For anyone that may find them useful, I tweaked the designs of “The Sheriff of Oosterbeek: A Scenario Design DAR/AAR” worksheets by Jon Sowden to get the theme to better fit, IMHO, the CMCW module. They are in .pdf format (but are NOT form fillable). I would recommend printing them in draft format so as to limit the use of your printer's color ink supply. 😉

Well, fast ain't necessarily better  . I was blitzing the training on how to at least get something up and running, and decided to share those results. I'm not sure they're all that good though. Got more coming but these will be a little slower as I refine things a bit. Glad you're able to make use of them however  .

Yes. It was decided that the Demo would have the same PBEM functionality as the final wide release (which makes sense) so it is going to have to wait until that whole add-on is incorporated.  Short answer is we are looking at Steam release or shortly there after even though we have scenarios all picked out.
    Apologize for inconvenience.

Just a mile from where I live there's a rusting M60A3 acting as 'gate guardian' behind the post office. The real-world M60 is just as much of a monster as it appears in photos.
