  1. Let me get something straight, is the WW2 game going to be a module to add on to CM:SF or will it be a stand alone product?
  2. US weighed military strikes in Syria Rest of the article at link... I'm tellin' ya, it is not that far fetched.
  3. You don't have to play entirely as the US. Just in the campaign. You can play any side in the single scenarios.
  4. But that was 20 years ago. Er, well, it would have been 20 years ago...
  5. When Paul sings Let it Be it's over in 4 minutes. When BF.C makes another WW2 game, it consumes every waking moment of their business lives. I don't see why so many are upset about it not being WW2 right off of the bat. Steve's reasons concerning complexity are exactly right. I am more concerned with choice of theater, but I have come to trust this company and will throw my money at them for this product as soon as I can. Fa-Shizzle.
  6. Thanks for posting that, I had missed it.
  7. Steve said they chose a near future fictional war for the first game becase the warfare is much more complex now than it ever has been and they want to make sure they cover all of their bases.
  8. Yea, someone else mentioned the same things in another thread. Makes perfect sense to me now. Thanks.
  9. Kip, it was the UN who invaded Syria, Bush is just doing his part.
  10. Hey thanks, you answered a question I had about why they chose pfictional Syria over modern Iraq. I even started an entire thread about it. Anyways, I am happy with the setting, I'm not a huge fan of fictional wargames, but this is close enough in time and reality to satisfy me. I would have prefered Iraq, but I am sure I will love the game anyways. Still waiting for word on Combat Mission: Overland Campaign.
  11. I am assuming that B F.C doesn't want to touch a current war for sensitivity issues, but I don't think it is that big of a deal, obviously Syria was used because it is similar to Iraq. Reading Steve's post it was clear to me that the fictional campaign in Syria is meant to mirror the drive to Baghdad. So I was just wondering why not just set it in Iraq? Not a problem with me, mind you, just preference. Will still pre-order the game as soon as I can and the fictional setting will not bother me much.
  12. Robert Bruce's campaigns against the English under Edward II, Early 14th century. CM in Scotland with horses...
  13. They went back in timein CMBB compared to CMBO.
  14. No, Doenitz was Führer, Goebbels was Chancellor. For less than a week in the latter case. </font>
  15. Hmm, so once a state joins the Union it is bound to it for eternity, no matter what the Federal government were to do?
  16. I don't think it is fair to compare Nazi Germany with the Confederate States of America. Not saying that is what you are doing, just stating what I think is the obvious.
  17. No, Doenitz was Führer, Goebbels was Chancellor. For less than a week in the latter case. </font>
  18. Points taken. Something with tanks would probably make more sense to show off the new game...
  19. I was thinking of a module covering only 1914. Germany pushed pretty deep into France and threatened Paris until the Battle of the Marne. Then the Allies and Germans tried to flank each other until they reached the coast in what is called "The Race for the Sea." I think it would make a great module for CMx2, have no idea if it would come first or not, but I'd enjoy playing it. The West Front wasn't ALL trench warfare. The East Front in 1914 would be very cool, as well. And ...you would have a great game. That would be fun, too. I have a feeling that whatever module the game ships with, it will be fun! I don't like hypotheticals very much, so I would prefer something based on a historical event. But thats me. I'm buying it no matter what theater it covers. 20. 1914, West Front. That is my latest guess. I would wish for either WW2 Eastern Front or a 'War of Northern Aggression' game of some type...
