Yup, the settings say it's an 8 MB card. I also just tried running it in compatibility mode (2000, and 98/me, 95), and with the check box for Disable visual themes. No joy. I think I'm just going to have to wait on Microsoft either patching the driver, or DirectX 8.1. Thanks for all the help!

I tried moving down to 1024x768, but no joy. I also applied a BIOS update, but no change. In the list modes screen I have everthing from 640x480, 256 color, 60 hz to 1280x1024, 85hz. I'm wondering if it's just a funky driver. It could be an oddity with directx 8.1, too, for xp. Ah, well.

Hmm, I thought I'd tried that, and it just gave me the question again next time I'd started. I'll try again when I get home, though. Thanks!

Though my regular screen is 1152x864, 16 bit color, combat mission only wants to come up a max of 640 x 480 at 80 hz. Any ideas why? I haven't had any other problems with the card. Not quite true. I never got the card it working in win95, but it installed nicely in XP. The card is unsupport (discontinued) now, and the only drivers available came with XP.
