  1. Emulators. Hm. Does anyone know where I can get this program.
  2. Sir Harry. Sorry but High Command does not work on new systems. Still have original game and unfortunately it only works on Dos system. Like my super dupper 486DX 100.
  3. Anyone old enough out there remember High Command. A cool feature was that the national anthem played every time when countries were occupied. Can this happen here??? Oh I love mods. And the people who make them. I do not think those guys get enough credit for the work they do!!!
  4. Does anyone remember Battlefround Ardennes. Would'nt it be cool to have some short bursts of movie clips come up when countries surrender or after after the occupation of a country. Oh well. I can only dream of such a game.

  11. Could someone please list a number of sites I can go to for mods for Combat Mission. I am particular interested in those that are regularly updated.
  12. Can anyone tell me what the numbers crunch is for infantry in buildings. Sometimes I can only put one platoon and a leading in them. Anyone got a break dowon on this
  13. Can anyone tell me how I can use existing battle maps and turn them into Operation maps. Have got a favourite battle map and do not know how to convert it.
  14. I don't think the Germans used paratroopers following the 1941 airborne assault of Crete. Losses were so high (more than a third of 22,000 man force that Hitler forbade all future airbone operations. (p45 A Bridge Too Far - Corneilius Ryan)
  15. Have thought up a lottery draw system for paratroop drops. Determine the initial drop point on the map for mission and then pull 1 of 8 numbers out of hat to determine the following: A. Wind Direction North = 1 South = 2 East = 3 West = 4 NE = 5 NW = 6 SE = 7 SW = 8 B. Wind Range = Distance from Drop Zone 1. No wind. No effect 2. Light winds = 2 squares 3. Light Winds = 2 squares 4. Med winds = 5 squares 5. Med winds = 6 squares 6. Strong Winds = 8 squares Anyone with any other ideas or comments please let me know. Sometimes you just have to use the old 'boardgame' rules to do the job for you.

  23. Yes, you may have them drop in anytime but they drop where you tell them to. Right on the mark where you want them to which is not realistic.
  24. Has anyone considered doing a mod to improve the faces of infantry to make them a little more lifelike. They all look like "Lego" characters. Don't get me wrong. I am a big fan of this game. Just see some room for improvement thats all. Will there be any improvement in CM2? Look at the graphics of the like of the upcoming Medal of Honour. Surely our graphics cards and big CPU's can handle the mathics of all. Viva Combat Mission Forever
  25. A nice added feature for Combat Mission 2 would be a random deployment by the computer for paratroopers. Scenerio designers could pinpoint location for paratroopers and computer could drop them depending on calculations as near enough to drop zone to reflect effect of strong winds. Remember what happened at D-Day.
