1. A new troubleshooting section is not available for Combat Mission to help you sort out the most common techincal issues and problems that have been reported to us. This page will be updated frequently with new info and solutions to any new problems. You will find the page here. NOT Available???
 2.
quote:
Originally posted by Commander: When I play it my old dog starts freakin and trying to hide. The Artillery Test Range is great when your playing a E-mail game and you lose a tank and want to pay the Germans back.

Good idea! Hey everybody, looking for a PBEM game. Need someone to play Germans in an assault type scenario!
 3. I can't remember who said it and I believe it was in reference to the Eastern Front, so may have more relevance to CMBB, but ... "Quantity has a Quality all of its own."
 4. In a PBEM game I am currently in, had a RG fired at an infantry unit in scattered trees, it caused a fire. Severely scorched the unit it hit. I had never seen that before.
 5.
quote:
Originally posted by Bad Dog: Really impressive effects! felt sorry for the cyber crash dummies... what a massacre!

I didn't feel to sorry, those dummies shot back. They did take out most of the mortars in the courtyard. But, then the volkswagons started falling out of sky! Boom!
 6. THAT WAS FUN! ALL I CAN HEAR IS BELLS RINGING, WHY IS THAT?
 7. Saving QB in the Setup Phase works. I have done this a lot, in fact, I kind of make it a habit now. Then if you end up with a good game, you can replay it, shift units around, ect.
 8. I posted a this on the other forum and didn't get any answers, so will try here. I am in a game that involves my defending against boats. My units seem to infatuated with them. My heavy weapons keep targeting the empty immobile boats, the TacAI just loves them. In this game my oppenent sent 2 Shermans down the main street, in full veiw of several heavy guns and infantry units. The only thing that shot at it was a hidden panzerfaust, the other were too, busy facing the other direction shooting at the boats. If this is a known "feature" of the TacAI, it would be helpfull to know for the future. Thanks, Tim
 9.
quote:
Originally posted by dsvitak: ... I have downloaded the most recent patch, and will install it immediately. ... Cheers

I am a recent 4 month CMer also. My CD came with the lastest version, no patch needed.
 10. I did a search, but didn't find anything, so... I am currently in a game against a bunch of assault boats. Does anyone know how the TacAI works against them? When they were crossing the river my defenders shot them all up, but now that they are across and empty, they are still the primary targets!?! I tell units to aim at infantry or whatever and they switch back to the boats. Guns & AFVs are very suseptable to this. Any comments would be usefull.
 11. I am really glad that I live too far from work to go home for lunch. After reading your post, I consider that a job saving option.
 12. I need all the practice I can get! Please include me in your mailing list.
 13. OK, I know that I must be missing something here. How does your opponent know that you are proposing a cease-fire? It is a secret, it only happens if both of you want it. I have played several games where I proposed CF for 5+ turns and it never happened.
 14. My vote goes to the units that have been on the front-lines the longest. After a month or more without baths, they will be very gamey, trust me.
 15.
quote:
Originally posted by tabpub: ... No foxhole was involved, though. That was the reason they had been split in the first place, to generate extra foxhole for 2nd line of defense in Operation. Damn thing was, it didn't give me any. Guess I lost too much ground in the first battle and didn't have time to dig when we "advanced to the rear"

tabpub - I believe you have to be the defined defender to get foxholes, if you are the attacker or ME type battle no foxholes.
 16. The manual does say that there is an increased chance to hit the longer you fire at the same target, so maybe smoke rounds count to increase odds of hitting with good ammo.
 17. I'm getting this kind of thing a lot in a scenario I am working on. There is a set of german bunkers and even when they are completely eliminated or surrender, the Germans still have victory, in most cases. I am converting from an attack to an exit type in hopes of giving Allies points for exiting units.
 18. Just move the A & B parts of the squad close together, within 2-5 meters, they should recombine automatically. Sorry no, only the same squad parts can be combined.
 19.
quote:
Originally posted by Xavier: We 're all CM addict. That's the only truth. Even if BTS 'll release a CM57 'Mars to Venus' ... we 'll all buy it

By then, we maybe playing it on our virtual reality watches, while traveling from Mars to Venus.
 20. You might try it as an operation. 1st battle defense, 2nd attack. Never tried making an OP though, so may not be able to mix battle types.
 21. Being a long time fan of the old TV Series "Rat Patrol" I jumped on those MG Jeeps, the first thing. What I learned is CMBO is not the movies. Since then, the best use I have found is to use them as scouts, until they die. Every once in a while you might get lucky and have them actually hit something.
 22. I may have the perfect scenario for you. It started out as a test for bunkers, but keeps expanding. The german side is 18 bunkers, thats it. No moving parts, about perfect for the newbie. This is about 3000 points. The allied side has 3-4 battalions, something like 20,000 points. Thing is, so far the Germans almost always win. Oh, it is dark & rainy with an LOS of only about 90 meters and only one way into the bunkers. Send me an email if your interested.
 23.
quote:
Originally posted by TCP: When you decide to buy a platoon what kind of infantry you buy? Example: rifle 44 vs gebirdsjarer vs sturmkompanie... who is the best?

TCP - it really comes down to what you need the infantry for. City fighting, where ranges will be the next building or inside a building, SMGs can't be beat. Open fields, need rifle units w/ MGs. And there is a whole gamut of situations in between.

Hvy.Machine Gun teams, Anti-Tank Gun units, Rifle squads, etc. all benefit from the effects of a TRP. --Buying multiple TRPs don't affect you adversely either...

One of my favorites is putting TRP on top of Barbwire. It is amazing what the HMG's setup to cover the wire can do.
