  1. i have a problem with the graphics in cmbo which seems tied to the ambient sounds in the game. did a search and came up with nothing conclusive. the graphics hiccup, it seems, every time there is a background explosion in the ambient sounds (not in the game). i'm referring to the explosions which go with the bird chirping noises and have nothing to do with the scenario being played. every time there is a background "boom" (which is about four times a minute, maybe) my graphics stall for a split second. i'm using a dell, 933mHz, pentium three running Windows ME i have a GeForce IV 128mb video card with the most recent drivers and i'm using a soundblaster live! card with the most recent drivers. maybe there's no fix for this, but i'm wondering whether this is a common problem i should live with or should keep trying to fix. thanks, Eric
  2. Seeing that bevy of m8's and four crack hellcats crest the ridge all at once with artillery support is now going to give me nightmares, and I won't sleep until I know what can be done about such a thing (short of force restrictions). AA guns? forward deployed atg's? armor reserve? in short, what mix of tactics and equipment could stop this onslaught? And another question, why are the hellcats burning it up down the flank rather than getting hulldown on the ridge, as I would have presumed they would? to get the atg's confused and turning about uselessly from one target to the next (which did happen)? to avoid artillery hits on soft armor? to hit while on the move? I'm full of questions. Eric
  3. It would be nice (i.e. realistic) to decide whether rushing a tank with a wounded commander back to a medic station (in order to keep him from bleeding to death) was worth avoiding a morale loss or a victory point penalty. But it stands to reason that as soon as you assign numerical values to moral issues, you are no longer dealing with morality (unless you be a utilitarian). It would become just one more strategic calculation.
