  1. Umm, I don't know, all I did was launch 9.1 (in classic with X also running) and open CM: BO (I did have classic RAVE disabled). If what you mean is did I have to choose the 9.1 system folder as startup disk and restart, no, I didn't do that.
  2. When I try to open CM, the monitor resolution goes from 1024 x 728 (my desktop) to 640 x 480. I tried deleting the prefs, but still no go. Any ideas? [ November 20, 2002, 09:42 AM: Message edited by: Panther G ]
  3. I don't know, I was just observing what I see happening. I wasn't proposing a remedy, just making an observation. And, I belive I already am in the real world, so why the welcome?
  4. Okay, thanks, but what about 9.0.4? That's what I have now... BTW, are later versions of CM going to be compatible with OS X? It seems to me that BTS is alienating a large portion of the Mac market with the lack of OS X compatibility... Ryan [ November 15, 2002, 08:54 PM: Message edited by: Panther G ]
  5. Will CM work with CM:BO and/or CM:BB? I know it won't in the OS X interface but what about classic mode? Or do I have to reinstall OS 9 to play? (which could be a pain). I just ordered it and am not sure if CM will work... Thanks. Ryan [ November 15, 2002, 04:48 PM: Message edited by: Panther G ]
  6. I made a Bruneval scenario a few months back, called "Bruneval-A Quick Visit." Get it at the depot. I'm not sure if CDIC's is very different, as I haven't seen his. Ryan
  7. Posted in error, please disregard. [ August 28, 2002, 06:47 PM: Message edited by: Panther G ]
  8. I don't like: Misspelled words Bad grammar Lack of a briefing Not telling me what side to play I like: Conversational Briefings To the point without being long-winded Historical background (if historical scen) Date, time, weather, ground condition, scenario name, revision number, turn number, type of scen (ME, Assault...) 9. I recently made a commando scenario: Bruneval-A Quick Visit. It's about a British Airborne detatchment attempting to snatch a radar in France. It is historical. Get it at the depot (see link in sig). Ryan
  10. OK! You know I'll always be glad to playtest it... Ryan
  11. Hey Clubfoot, Would you consider reviving this scenario? It looked like a lot of fun...
  12. Wow! I just started this scenario (PBEM) as the Allies and this looks really great! I like the map, the briefing was great, and the It looks like I'm going to have quite the challenge as Allies... When I finish the scenario, I'll review it at the depot (has it been posted there yet?). Thanks for such a great scenario. Ryan
  13. OK, I'll be Allies. Send me a setup: rmfitzgerald@lycos.com Regards, Ryan
  14. I need some folks to go on over to the depot and review this one! Come on! It's fun, I promise...
  15. What exactly are the needed factors in this "standardized" info? It wouldn't be that hard: Bruneval - A Quick Visit: June 44, non-snow dry, night, overcast Allied: British 1st Parachute Brigade Axis: Heer (not sure of division) Is there anything else that's needed? otherwise I might post an update... Ryan
  16. I'll try it. I would prefer to play a 2-player, but if nobody else wants to play, I'll just go against the AI...
  17. Well, you can try Bruneval - A Quick Visit, my latest scenario. It's non-snow with British Airborne and Heer at nighttime. I believe I mentioned all these things in the General Briefing, though not exactly for that purpose... Ryan
  18. After several months of furious playtesting my best (I think) scenario is released! It's a remake of WBW's original A quick visit - Bruneval. Here's the general briefing and a picture: -------- Title: Bruneval - A Quick Visit Type: Snatch-and-Grab Raid Date: February 27, 1942 Location: Bruneval, France Weather: Night, dry Turns: 30 Author: Wild Bill Wilder and revised by Ryan Fitzgerald Wild Bill's Raiders billw@matrixgames.com Ryan Fitzgerald: rmfitzgerald50@hotmail.com --------- Design Notes: This scenario is another quick play fun scenario. It is an attempt to recreate the raid on Bruneval in 1942. So the date in the game will be incorrect. The important thing for the human player is to capture the installation, then withdraw. Don't worry about holding the installation. The trick is to see if you can take it, then how many units you can withdraw in the 30 turns allotted to you. This scenario really does not fit into the 1944-45 mold of this version of Combat Mission. Still, it is a fun recreation and worth a try. Remember to use the ALT+B hotkey combination midbattle to view your briefing again. -------------- Historical Background (No Spoiler) Early into the Second World War, Britain became bitterly aware of the effectiveness of a new detection weapon being used by the Germans that would come to be known as "radar." Intelligence reports indicated that a type of radar known as "Wurzburg" was in use off the coast of France near Le Havre. It was located close to the coastal town of Bruneval. With the earlier success of the Vaagso raid in Norway by British commandos, Lord Mountbatten planned another smaller raid to steal the radar equipment and return it to England. Troops of the recently formed 1st Parachute Brigade, led by Major John Frost (later of Arnhem fame), would be airdropped near the facility. They were accompanied by a technical specialist, Sgt. Cox, who would direct the dismantling and carrying of the needed pieces back to the beach. This scenario is meant to be played Allies vs. AI or as Double Blind two player. If you play Allies vs. AI, you should have no trouble, but the allied player in a 2-player game better be good, otherwise... Changes from the original include a massive map redo, new briefings, and partially different forces. ---- Get it at: direct Boots'n'Tracks CM Scenario Depot Please review after you play. 19. I suggest you look around the board, because there are a lot of people do a lot worse than "it's" instead of "its." Like the people who don't know how to spell tank, Panzerschreck, or my personal favorite, Nahverteidigungswaffe. Or the people who don't capitalize anything...
