Try using the 28.32 drivers that have the self-installer, ftp://files.3dnews.ru/pub/drivers/nvidia/wXP-2823.exe there is a link. Upon inspection that says 28.23, but if they dont work send me a PM
I just tried these drivers out, but just for 1 turn of a pbem. It looked like no flickering of white parts, but at end was still impossible to read after screen. Will try out in more games and update if it starts flickering.
A great place for fans and cooling supplies isAMK Computers. They are located in Canada so perhaps not the best place for most of you to order from.
I would suggest staying away from the "orb" line of fans, but the Volcano 5 is a decent heastsink.
Currently I am running a generic version of this which allows my 1000@1466 to run at about 43' C mostly.
A large case will also help a lot.
When you try your radeon 8500 please post your results. I am starting to think that it is the right card for me, as the TI 200 cards are arriving very slowly up here in Canada.
I have tried the 21.88 drivers (using XP with a geforce 2 mx). They do not solve the problem. My suggestion to you would be to use a light coloured wallpaper for you desktop.
My horror story, I wanted this game so bad, ordered and it took about a month to arrive. I gave a copy of the demo to one of my friends, he thought it was kinda cool, bought it and it took a week. The delivery time seems to depend on how badly you want it. PS I live in BC Canada
I've had the same problem as you've described, but only when overclocking. I would suggest that you replace the chrome orb and also increase the cooling of your case. I have experienced good results with a volcano 2 (currently 39`C CPU is 1.33 on Iwill KK266r).
