Guys with furry hats. Another winter in Russia. Cossacks!. The bridge of Leipzig. Bresina's crossing. Arapiles. The Iron Duke at Portugal. Spanish Guerrilleros. Damm, I want this game. Pleaaaaase. -
In Memoriam CMBO ( or the funniest moments in CMBO )
Blenheim replied to Stickel's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
Well, I was having small QB against the AI yesterday. In one of the battles, I was leading a 1000 points allied attack on a town. I got a pretty useful mixture of units, with two 81 mm mortar arty spotters, a Sherman 76 +, ando good infantry. The attack was doing well, even after losing a full squad in less than 10 seconds in an ambush. When I reached the center of the town with my front units, clearing the way to the Sherm, I saw the most gamey thing that the AI has ever made in my computer: He had bought a JagdTiger. Yes, that thing with a huge gun, heavy armour and low production.... Man, I had a really hard time. I laid tons of smoke with the mortars all around the village, moved in the Zooks and the Sherm trying to flank the monster...(hard time, hard time!!!). I lost 3 zooks, the Sherm (those guys in the Ronson should be court martialled: they blasted 3 rounds in the side armour of the JT without getting a penetration before the beast got them) and finally destroyed the damm thing with my last zook in a flank shot from 25 m. Wow. -

Damm, I'd like to post more, but I can't stop playin'... . -
Mucho.

Either the ISU-152 (Wash... BOOOOM. I love big explosions) or the Elephant (I love big guns, you see a trend here). -

That's a classic ! . LOL ! -
Well, this is a war I won't be happy to replay on a comp... too much at a stake for my country. And the good guys lost...

And thanks to the help of a idiotic pesky Italian dictator and his army, that was intelligent enought to realize they were wasting their time, the USSR had a better chance to survive. The world was saved by Italy, you see. .

East Front operations' names...
Blenheim replied to Blenheim's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
Argh, I need the name of the attack on Berlin. Please, help. -
Well, I know quite a bunch of names, and tons of them are told arround here from time to time; the problem is... I am confussed. I am not able to associate operations to names any more. Mars? Where was it? When? Bagration? Citadel? Uranus? Plez, guys, I need a list of the major ops, just to get things cleared. And above all, one thing that tortures me... What was the name of the final Soviet Offensive to Berlin?

How to attack like a German - sample forces
Blenheim replied to JasonC's topic in Combat Mission: Beyond Overlord
I thought that the Americans did something like this... 1. Advance. 2. Spot Germans. 3. Retreat a bit. 4. Call Artillery, planes and things like that. 5. Hell ensures. 6. Resume advance. -

Racing in CMBO? (pix inside!)
Blenheim replied to murpes's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
OK, you got me. I must install the desert mod and began to make a couple of Paris-Dakar scenarios; one even with a civil war going on somewhere !!! -
Wow, Leto... sometimes is hard to remember that bloody battles were fought so near where I live (I am in Madrid, as well). I remember as a child (I was 13 or so) finding a helmet in a trench near the Ebro. It was very rusty, and had a hole... When I realized what that meant, I had to throw it away. It was a Republican helmet, probably (little hammer and sickle on a side)....

Am I the only with awesome Nashorn Skillz? I love this thinguie. I use it more as a mobile gun than anything else, of course, because it is damm weak; but I've had some incredible lucky streaks with them. I've had up to 6 kills with this babies; I think that my opponent was too surprised to react to that weird animal. I had the most absurd hit message with one of them, as well. "Weak penetration Spot, knocked out" against a Hellcat, rear shoot... -
Well, I am confident that BTS will manage to get this right, as always... My take: what we'll probably see in winter 1941 scenarios is that the Germans get an army as chaotic as the Soviet one in summer, 1941. Plenty of system malfunctions, troops that do not behave as we want (just because they're exausted) and plenty of equipment bogging down and falling apart. The Russians will have more or less the same amount of chaos, but well, at least this time they are at tactical skillz parity with the Germans...
