  1. Sound good. I got excited as I read your post. Happy Birthday. P.S. Mark Ezra is "the man!" XcyborgX
  2. Nice. Thanks gibsonm and yeah I really meant to say seconds. Boy, if it was minutes I would have a real problem with procrastination.
  3. Can anyone help me on how to manipulate my forces? It’s probably operators’ error. The most frustrating problem is when I assign complex move or moves dealing with timing. Example, if I have a Stryker full of troops, and I instruct the Stryker to pause for 15 or 30 second before moving and I instruct the troops to exit the vehicle immediately (I have not use the “disembark” command, I just use a move command). sometimes the troops wait until the vehicle moves then they leave. What I desire is the troops to exit the vehicle then the Stryker leaves. Its not consistent. Sometime the troops leave before the Stryker moves and sometimes they don’t. Also is it possible to have a Stryker move into position, pop smoke, have the troops embark the Stryker then have the Stryker take off, all in one turn? Could we place a move command with a 15 second pause (allowing for the troop to embark)then put a smoke command, then have another move command? 5. uhmmm...you mean I must press pause first then design my path. I have created the path first then I press pause until I get the desired delay time. Perhaps thats my problem. Wow, thanks I will try that.
  6. Does anyone know if Im doing something wrong or there is a problem with the game. I use the "pause" function on tanks and troops and most of the times they ignore this command. I set the instructions to move and press pause and the time is display above the object but in the next move (PBEM) they ignore this command. This is frustrating because sometimes timing is everything.
  7. Where do I go to find players that are willing to play CMSF? I went on Proving Grounds but not getting anyone. I'm looking for someone who is willing to play PBEM, preferably, someone with Instant Messenger.
  8. Do any one know if Battlefront will come out with a strategy game for CMSF? If yes, then when?
  9. Sequoia, Snap! Thanks for catching that error. I guess you can say, I just patched it It's as good as CMSF 1.06
  10. I just want to say thanks to creators of CMSF. For many years, I enjoyed CM games and purchase all of them. I was elated when I discovered that CMSF was coming out and told some of my friends. When I first played the game I was extremely disappointed and angry because the game was saturated with problems. Just recently, I took some leave from work (military) and other challenges in life, and kicked back and played CMSF 1.06. MAN, I am so happy!!!!!!!!!!!! The CMSF 1.06 helped me recover. The developers of CMSF did a great job with rectifying many of the errors. I am now ready to suggest the game to my friends again. Thanks CMSF developers for your diligence and hard work! 11. The game will not start because I don’t have the last OpenGL. Where do I find this? I found one for the Mac but were is one for the PC. I have installed the last video drivers I have: XP service pack 2 Radeon mobility X300 I used the OpenGL extender view and found this in the report: No ICD registry entry The current OpenGL driver doesn't expose the SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Windows (NT)/CurrentVersion/OpenGLDrivers registry entry. Unable to detect the driver version, driver revision name and filename. No hardware support Your current video configuration DOES NOT support hardware accelerated OpenGL. No compiled vertex array support This may cause performance loss in some applications. No multitexturing support This may cause performance loss in some applications. No secondary color support Some applications may not render polygon highlights correctly. No S3TC compression support This may cause performance loss in some applications. No texture edge clamp support This feature adds clamping control to edge texel filtering. Some programs may not render textures correctly (black line on borders.) No vertex program support This feature enables vertex programming (equivalent to DX8 Vertex Shader.) Some current or future OpenGL programs may require this feature. No fragment program support This feature enables per pixel programming (equivalent to DX9 Pixel Shader.) Some current or future OpenGL programs may require this feature. No OpenGL Shading Language support This may break compatibility for applications using per pixel shading. No Frame buffer object support This may break compatibility for applications using render to texture functions. Few texture units found This may slow down some applications using fragment programs or extensive texture mapping.
  12. Melnibone, Very very funny. General solomon, Man, I concur with you. The Combat Mission games are my all time favorite games. I have been playing it for over 6 years. Flashpoint and Rome Total War are great as well but not better.
  13. Noticing that the released date of CM:SF is no longer displayed on Battlefront’s main website, has got me nervous. Is there a possible delay in the release of the game? I pray this doesn’t happen, for I can’t think of any other game that I am this excited about. Full Spectrum Warrior came somewhat close but I was SEVERELY DISAPPOINTED after playing it. That let down, prompted me to see my psychiatrist.
  14. What is a HUGE relief! That’s what I wanted to hear! Thanks for your knowledgeable response. My interest has returned.
  15. I have to honestly say that I was very excited about the game especially knowing that some of the people who did Combat Mission series were involved in this. Also reading about the incredible detail that they put in the game. HOWEVER, after I looked as some of the videos, I notice that the people had no emotions (no character). In Combat Mission if you perform concentrated fire on a squad, the squad will have the tendency to become “pinned” and there response time will be delayed (emotions). Or if a Stuart tank discovers an Tiger tank turning his turret toward him then the Stuart will back away and find cover in fear of being destroyed. The Stuart crew realizes that they can not penetrate the armor of the Tiger tank. This factor adds a realism, strategy, and tactics I crave for. BUT by watching some of the videos (Theatre of War) I notice that a tank fired on a gun and it killed 2 or 3 of the crew guys. One of the crew that was not killed immediately proceed to destroy the tank without any hesitation, intimidation, or emotion. It reminded me of the repulsive game Command and Conquer. Sorry, no offence to anyone but it just not my kind of arcade game. Please someone tell me that the forces are not this way. Please tell me that this is not another Command and Conquer.
  16. First of all, thanks Battlefront.com for bring great games such as the Combat Mission series. I am elated to read the upcoming Combat Mission games and I think Battlefront.com is headed in the right direction. I have been playing CM games over 5 years now and one thing I wish I had is the ability to compile all the one minute moves in to one viewable video. After playing my competitors in CM, I like the ability to sit back and admire my command aptitude by viewing all the moves without loading every single one minute video. In my proposed compiled video, perhaps you can display the enemy, which is hidden from my troops, in half opacity until seen by my troops. Are there any plans to accomplish this in the next CM games?
  17. MGG, Thanks for providing the video. The game looks good--considering the game is not just an eye candy game. Looks even better when I checkout the game play.
  18. I have the utmost respect for some of Battlefront products like the Combat Mission series. They have produced great products which I relish; however, having the demo come out after the game is a bad sign. I think the best procedure is to have the demo out 1 to 3 weeks before the official release of the full game. Many great games have done this. I think it conveys confidence and pride in their product. XcyborgX
  19. Does anyone know if there is going to be another Combat Mission game with an new engine? Combat Mission series and Operation Flashpoint are my favorite games. It would be AWESOME if Battlefront is planning on developing an improved game.
  20. Does anyone know of a good site where I can meet people for PBEM action?
  21. Thanks coldmeter for the suggestion. YankeeDog, Thanks for replying. Yes, everything else is the same as the original scenario. The time frame, the turns, conditions (keep in mind there is an overcast for weather), and the setup zones are all the same as the original scenario. We agreed that we are free to select any forces thus I’m not bound to any nationality—I can mix my force. I like your suggestion on the artillery. I think in my initial moves artillery, speed, positioning and support is the key factor for victory. I like the suggestion on using small artillery for smoke and large for explosives. Very good point on the X factor. He is too smart to go that route. He has to deal with too many attacking positions to do that. I think I have an ideal on my attack. One last question? Where do you think I should attack from? Thanks for all of your suggestions.
  22. I need some good suggestions on defeating my partner so I can obtain the expensive sword trophy that is given to whom wins 3 out 5 games. The scenario is “Assualt on Perano” which is on the CMAK cd. We are allowed to select our own forces. My opponent is allow to use up to 1600 credits for the Axis (defending) and I’m allowed 3200 credits for Allieds (attacking). My opponent is pretty good and I have no ideal on what forces he may select but I certain he will have artillery. Here are my questions: 1. What forces should I select? 2. What way should I attack? 3. Any other special tricks to implement (i.e. assault deception?) Thanks to all who respond.
  23. Thanks, that was stupid. I didnt think to check the CD
