I've turned a friend onto CMBO and my friend has downloaded the demo. We'd like to play "Chance Encounter" PBEM, but have incompatible versions (I'm currently using 1.12). Will this work if I use 1.11? I think I still have that stashed somewhere. IS there any other work-around? I know it's probably been asked before, but thanks in advance for any help.

Playing a PBEM game with a friend (Team Desobrey, the re-written one). I've been licking my chops for a couple of turns because I had an M18 hidden in some scattered trees, with an ambush marker placed on a road. His armored column (Tank, Puma, several tracks) is headed down that same road. So, just as the lead tank gets to the ambush marker, my TD stops hiding, the turret swivels to directly ahead, and the TD Crew doesn't target ANYTHING, even tho several enemy vehicles are in LOS! German tank rotates turret, caps the M18 with it's first shot. What gives? Is this a known bug? Is there something odd about a buttoned-up M18 I should know about? Grrrr.... Vadr

Gonna throw my $0.02 in here... I've got a lot of experience with O'Reilly Webboard. Reasonably robust and full-featured, but dog-slow, even with a SQL Server backend. UBB is prolly the best product on the market, but ya gotta manage it right. At this point, your options are: A - Throw more hardware at the problem B - Do a better job of managing the board. Archives are good, but have limitations. Do away with the search feature altogether if you are going to leave old threads available. Sorry to say it, but you folks in the Peng thread need to bid that sucker a graceful goodbye. I've never seen a UBB thread over 300 posts before I cam here. 2400 is insane. Just a little update to this. Late in the Scenario, this same Churchill took 3 rounds to the turret front from an 88 at just over 500 yards. All 3 rounds bounced off and the Church dispatched my 88 with 2 HE rounds. Some days, it doesn't pay to get out of bed. Writing it off to bad luck, and recommending that Church Crew for the VC. Hi, I'm new to CMBO, although this ain't my first rodeo when it comes to small-unit tactics. I started a PBEM game with an old friend, 1500 pt Combined Arms Meeting Engagement, with 'the Rule of 76s' in effect. I'm down wit' dat, I understand and agree with the Rule, I think it's a good thing. Now, my problem: My friend picked up a few Churchill VIII's, which have managed to pretty much 1-shot kill 2 of my Pz IV's and a Hetzer with those 95mm hollow-core rounds. Those same tanks are now in the process of dismembering my Infantry with HE, of course My question: should I insist on being allowed to purchase Tiger Is going forward ( a suggested modification to the rule) if Churchill VIII's are allowed, or should I just take my lumps this time and get over it?
