  1. P.S.: oops, I wanted to start this topic in the 'Maps and Mods' section...
  2. Hi folks, some while ago I started to work on a CMBS version of a full coloured silhuettes mod, as I already wrote in another topic. I also wrote that you have to be very patient with me this time, but as BFC customer you are used to wait, I think ;). Indeed, work takes even longer than I expected due to RL things, but I now did all the support weapons stuff and put up the updated preview package. Please find it as ussually on my website @ Pimp your CM
  3. Hi folks, excuse that I didn't put up any updates in the last weeks, a good friend of me departed 10 days ago. Sight...on with the show. I put up a little mod I did already a while ago. It turns the red floating icons into green icons, cause the red icons were a bit to...well... red for me. Just visit my site (link below in my sig)
  4. Since we have such a nice topic about the UI, there are two little things I like to add. 1) (from a modders point of view) - there are silhouettes for 'Blue' HQs and 'Red' HQs. Thats okay if you use only the original two color graphics, since you can't see something on them anyway, but it would be nice if there would be seperate HQ silhouettes for each nation. Makes a difference with full color graphics. 2) That's more something odd. You have a squad with a heavy weapon, shall we say a mortar. One soldier is shown with a mortar shell in the UI, all others with there rifle. That doesn't makes any sense. The mortar is not operated by a single soldier anyway. It would make more sense to show each individual with his rifle.
  5. Yes, I upgraded from Windows 7 to10, no CM issues because of Windows 10, and I own all games and modules Indeed I didn't run into any problems at all so far. All I needed to do manually after the upgrade was to reinstall the Geforce driver.
  6. You're welcome! I put up the Ambush! scenario for CMBS yesterday.
  7. Thanks for your feedback. Meanwhile I worked on something different. Far away from beeing complete, but I put up a little preview: http://cm.1540.info/wip.php
  8. Another scenario conversion is up http://cm.1540.info/cmbs_maps.php I'll take a look into the requested interface mod now, but you have to be very patient!
  9. I don't have that on the radar yet. It's rather big effort, and to be honest, summer temperatures of +30°C /+86°F are making me a bit idle I guess you have to wait for it a bit longer.
  10. Hi folks, my latest file and first BS scenario (conversion) doesn't show up in the repository for some reason, but you can find it here, too: http://cm.1540.info/cmbs_maps.php
  11. P.S. (I accidentally hit the send button): there ain't even technical revolutions anymore. AA unit's are sold as big step...while there are not even aircrafts in the sky. Flamethrowers look more like CMx1 as 2015. Infantry animation has not been changed much since CMSF. An operational layer, or even something else then a boring stats page that leaves me with a 'who cares' feeling at the end of a battle? Each time I turn on CM I think 'it could be so much more'. That's why I don't play it very often anymore. What's kind of pity.
  12. I remember the time when CMSF was developed and what was promised about the revolutionary new CMx2 engine and the various battlefields (Space Lobsters) that would be possible. So let me see... CMSF was indeed a great step and revolutionary scenario, justsuffered from engine 1.0 issues CMA offered another interesting scenario...with 1.0 issues. But since than: CMBN brought us back the good old mood from CMBO. 1944 CMFI is mostly like CMBN with a little different timeline and weather. 1943/1944 CMRT brought us back to the East Front. 1944 again. CMBS is kind of CMSF with the advantages of the 3.0 engine Next title likely be West Front 1944/1945 And then? Where is the revolution? Where is an early war game, or even something that is not WW2 or Modern USA against the world? CMx2 is a good game, no question. It just becomes technically a bit more outdated with each year.
  13. I might be wrong, but didn't BF removed the 'Unlicense' Option already in CMSF?
  14. But there also is no obvious reason why not allowing to convert maps is beneficial to BFC. There is still some work to do on a converted map, for example are some houses not converted correct. Beside that you can still only use a converted map with a game title that you have paid for. So you don't take something away from BFC.
  15. Yes, that's right. 00 = SF 02 = A 04 = BN 06 = FI 08 = RT 10 should be Black Sea, but I ain't own this one yet because of low budget, so I can't confirme BTW, it was Mad Mike who told me about that special hex that he found when creating his scenario organizer.
  16. Funny, I reinstalled CMSF at the weekend (just the main game and marines). Then I tested to make a 'Trident Valley' CMSF scenario, and it loaded withou problem this time.
  17. I had no success to idendify the problem on 'Trident Valey' so far. If somebody has a clue, please let me know I would even accept help from BFC
  18. I tested 'Trident Valey', this one indeed can not transfered to the WWII games, while it works with CM:A. I was not able to solve this problem so far, but have an idea left... However, it would be rather nice if BFC would create an unified scenario editor that loades any CM scenario and save it to the target game of choice. Shouldn't be to difficult, since it already works with a workaround mostly.
  19. The year and month is adjusted automatically somehow to something that is available in the target game. AI plans are carried over without problem. I noticed that maps can be better transfered to a newer version like cmsf to cmbn than from cmrt to cmbn for example. It also seemed to me that cmbn 2.0 is more cooperativ as 3.0. Firstly I deleted the unit table in the orinal game and safe the scenario file. Than I change the hex code and load the file with my Cmbn 2.0, save the file again with no further changes. This seem to make the file compatible to the 3.0 version for some reason. After that I have no problem to load the scenario to bn, fi and rt. For fi and rt I need to change the hex code again, of course.
  20. It's not that difficult. You need to open the scneario file with a hex editor and change byte 10 with the right code for the main game (00 for CMSF, 02 for CMA and so on). However, there must be done several adjustment. The TO&E tables are completly mixed up (the scenario may not even load if you don't delete them in the original game first), and some of the buildings must be replaced. But generally, yes, it is possible. Would be rather helpfull if BFC would use some kind of unified map, though.
  21. Okay, I have added a US forward observer. You can download the new version already from my website. Thanks for the advice!!
  22. It was just a logical step after I found out how to exchange the maps between the different CMx2 games.
