Hi, Just getting into CMBB (a little late to the game ;-) ). Have installed various vehicle mods that came with the Special Version pack. What would people suggest for good building, troops (uniforms), and terrain mods (trees). Also any way to get the neon colors out of the various highlighting colors? The colors overall on the grass etc seem somewhat saturated to my idea. I imagine there has been good work done. Suggestions? Any site where reviews of mods are done? Thanks!

Missing graphics on new install, Win XP
lparkh replied to ichadwick's topic in Combat Mission: Barbarossa to Berlin
I had similar text problems. The key for me (windows xp and ATI 3840 card) was simply alt-tabing out of the app and back in :-) This showed the fonts. I had put the little bitmap patch into prior but it itself was not sufficient. I was experiencing no scenario text etc etc. Hope this helps, Lin -
First wanted to say just finished reading through the three AARs. Really nice effort on both player's parts. Took a fair while just to read them. Also exciting in that it who was going to win looked quite clear in 43 and the changed quite a bit later! I could see both players were sophisticated players too from their focus on destroying supply locations etc. One question it seemed that the Americans had to deal with quite a bit of FOW. Yet historically (and in many other games) the americans have a very large intelligence advantage against the japanese. Is that modeled? How high an intelligence rating are americans given? (though doing so improves their research as well so a bit tricky). From what I read and from historical perspective I might suggest a slightly higher value for americans.. but maybe it ruins game balance too much...

WOrld in Flames seems to be getting closer. Divisional? -
Hi, Played a lot of Fall Weiss and recent variants (e.g., Storm, Honch etc) PBEM. What scenarios would folks further recommend for PBEM beside Fall Weiss (start WWII ) variants. Trying Russian scenario from WAW right now but not sure that will be balanced for PBEM... Feel free to suggest user created ones...

Hi, Despite the fall of denmark to germans long time ago (it is now nov of 411) iceland has still not gone allied. This used to happen in SC2-WAW 1.0.3 Is this a deliberate change or a bug?

Storm Steel Bugs? Canada & USSR
lparkh replied to lparkh's topic in Strategic Command 2 Blitzkrieg and Weapons and Warfare
Hi Huber et al, Thanks for replies. Both france and UK were fully in the war. But it was 38. So the script issue is startin 9/39. I would humbly suggest it starts ticking as soon as france and uk at war -
Trying out Storm multiplayer. Due to heroic polish defense poland lasted into january 1940. Russian readiness spiked to 56% from 39% and is now producing at full tilt. Axis now doomed. Does such a change seem right or is this a bug? I thought each turn of non garrisoning only changed things a few %. Canada: it is early 1940 and canada has still not joined uk. Is this intended? war started turn 2 in 1938. Is this intended if so why? Hard to believe canadians wouldn't join soon after UK. THanks, Lin

Is this mod viable against AI or only recommended for Human vs Human? Thanks Lin

Might onsider trying the WAW expansion fall weiss as well. The AI is pretty good. I used to kick butt on AI easily in SC2 but not SC2-WAW

Tactical Bombers is powerful...
lparkh replied to Armuss's topic in Strategic Command 2 Blitzkrieg and Weapons and Warfare
I should add it's not just the TBs even the ftrs become absolute ground killers (even naval killers!) after a while. -

I vote similarly. To John DiFool. After 10+ pbem games as allies and a focuse for about 8 of those on how to deal with german air in russia I am feeling like there is just nothing I can do. I tried the upgrade russian ftrs path but can't afford that enough early on (have to build a land army dont ya know). Air pts just too expensive and of course german's are too expensive. Then for last 5 or 6 games I've tried heavy emphasis on AA instead. This helped some but even with a strong emphsis takes a long time to get to even AA level 3. And you can't realistically keep your units all crowded around the AAs. Mayve 1.03 will help a bit. I tend to be a 'can-do' kind of player ...fighting hard to find away to overcome an obstacle.. but the air power jsut seems too much (and yes I'm trying to do allied air and draw soviet air off.. but by now all his axis air is just too darn experienced even with my high tech american ftrs :-( ). -
1.02 and 1.03 on same computer?
lparkh replied to lparkh's topic in Strategic Command 2 Blitzkrieg and Weapons and Warfare
Good news is I think you can actually. Just need to make a different folder with different name. Licensing seems to allow on same pc. Steve Nunez figured this out. So he gets the credit I put it in a parallel folder to the sc-waw 1.02 in battlefront folder. -
AA guns
lparkh replied to david12345's topic in Strategic Command 2 Blitzkrieg and Weapons and Warfare
Second that. Keep the AA as units for lower level scale campaigns. -
