1. I have mentioned this game to my father. (He uses a computer for tracking his stocks.) The only thing he said was, " Good, maybe we will get another generation to remember." So on behalf of my father (6th USAAF) and his two brothers, (Seabees & army artillery) Thank you. Hopefully we don't make anymore veterans. 2. Not bad guys, 43 pages in 17 days. If I were your boss, I'd fire all of you
3. I don’t know how much help this will be since I don’t have specific dates but when I was in High School (mid 80's) I ran a track meet at West Point. We got to see some live fire exercises. I’m sure if you contact West Point here in New York, they can tell you if the opportunity still exists. By the way… my ears were ringing for two days
4.
quote:
Originally posted by TwoSheds: Well, once a Mod is installed you can "borrow" it from the Combat Mission\BMP directory. There's other ways too...

Some mod makers list .bmps and the graphics they represent. Others do not. How will we be able to find the relevant .bmps for the mods we want to keep?
5. Last time I checked, a zook team has two members. Is it possible that the second member does not even have a side arm!!? While I’m at it… FO’s have nothing to carry except a map and a radio. It seems reasonable to assume that these poor bastards be given SOMETHING to defend themselves with. I believe even jeep crews have side arms.
6. Playing a QB , I load a .50 cal and 155VT on a M18 hoping that the M18's speed would be able to relocated them in a hurry. The M18 was ripping across a wheat field when it was hit by a hidden AT gun. The flaming hulk continued to roll right off the map along with it passengers.
7. I feel that the variable total turn idea that some people have suggested to be the best compromise to end this tactic. However, there are circumstances where rushes have been ordered with the idea that sheer weight of numbers will over come a defended area even with an anticipated high fatality rate. All one needs to do is look at trench warfare of WWI to see this tactic in action. Where wave after wave of men were ordered to their death. Based on that example, the argument “ men will not charge into certain death” does not hold water. I have a (silly) question. Why does there have to be a turn limit at all? The game is already governed by morale and ammunition factors. Wouldn’t a time of day element be ‘more realistic’ ? [This message has been edited by Bombardier (edited 10-23-2000).]

9. I was downloading for an hour and got dropped . I don't have the speed at home to get it (56K). I can get it tomorrow on the T1 at work. If you could leave it up tomorrow that would be great. 14. Slapdragon,, Glad to see you back. A similar event happened to a very good friend of mine. It can be a scary thing of everyone. Great post. 17. I’m sure we could all make a laundry list of things we’d like to see, but I’ll list only two…..for now 1)How about the FO being able to call in arty while mounted in/on a vehicle? And… 2)The artillery barrage continues say…..for a round or two if the FO is eliminated.
18. Considering I've seen the AI loose 100 to 0 that takes the cake

There are some maps that the computer generated that I would like to save.
22. Just wondering.... Where in NZ do you live? I met someone form CC in NY. I later went to visit. Beautiful place. Too bad I couldn’t convince myself to relocate. There is no work there.
