  1. The main new feature of the new CMFI engine (that I am noticing) is frequent crashes to desktop which I have never experienced before with previous CM games. I would suggest adding an autosave so that games can be resumed (never needed this before, but often useful). Also when will CM 2 bring back the limited intelligence and realistic spotting that we enjoyed in CM1...still no sign of what should be realitvely easy to fix. I really am fed up with instantly identifying 100% correctly all enemy guns, vehicles, AFVs and types and organisations of troops at any range across the map, at the first sight of any enemy.
  2. Is it still possible to enroll? If so I would like to Thanks Sandy
  3. You are talking about v4 I am still looking for v3 (I asked a month ago) Where do I download it please?
  4. What are the major new campaigns? Is there a demo?
  5. Hi Has this started? Is it too late for me to join? Thanks Sandy
  6. Looks this will be (is) a great map. Please let me know if you have an Omaha beach scenario that needs testing...
  7. I have had this several times as one of the various ways QBs fail/are bugged Qbs are certainly much better than CMSF, but some way to go to get back to CMBB's functionality and ease of use/lack of bugs
  8. When I first saw this in CMSF I thought it was a bug, but I was advised it was a feature and "I did not get it." It's just another example of the way CM2 can be a step back from CM1...like RT mode and no WEGO TCPIP
  9. It's not new - I have suffered this for years - it's just that there was a time when BF would look after their customers by not putting a high value on the package (as many other small US retail outfits/eBayers etc that I patronise will do if asked politely). Otherwise it's pay extra for extra delay...which is exactly what I expected and suffered, and contacted you in advance with a request to avoid please avoid it by reducing the declared cost. "So the policy of shipping preorders out of the US will, and must, continue" Thanks, again, for listening to your customers...I guess I just don't get it. I also do not understand why the declared value cannot be the difference between the download price and the hardgoods price, which is anyway the true cost of the physical goods? This would be legal and help your customers; think about it please. I preordered to get the manual (nearly unreadable, and using a home printed version) and to support BF - some reciprocity would be appreciated.
  10. I completely agree;this is a good example of CM2 going backwards from CM1 Info on all enemy units is FAR too complete and quick, always. CM1 did this so much better. How on earth do I identify arm of service, whether a unit is an HQ, or the precise type of enemy AFV within seconds, every time, and with 100% accuracy ALL the time, even on the highest difficulty levels?? (and right across the map)?
  11. Very impressed with your test methodology - thanks for your hard work
  12. Or in the case of my AT team - SMGs I have an AT team with 2 Pzfausts and 2 demo charges; they are hiding less than 10 m from an M5, so I order them to attack. Both men open up with their MP40s...is their plan to use their AT assets after they are dead? But surprisingly enough they do nothing after they are dead... I never saw this kind of REALLY stupid AI in CM1
  13. I have had about 6 panzerschreck gunners killed I have never seen the loader pick up and use the AT weapon Bad luck or a bug?
  14. diesel No, only ever play at elite or iron, but still I can identify troop type and vehicle type across the map instantly... Never get generic infantry, or tank? or AFV?, whic I would prefer
  15. Message to Mark Ezra Thanks for feedback - I was attacker in that game with Simmox. Also in that one he had all inf, but I thought we had picked mix for both sides?? Message to other posters on UK customs charges - I do realise this is not BF's responsibility directly - but all previous BF games were shipped from Europe to European customers, so no charges - why change? Or why not list value as the $10 difference between download and hard copy proces (as I specifically asked for); if this was done it would have prevent both extra charges and delays to receipt, and still be legal..) All very easily done if BF cared about EU customers Anyway I am now happilly playing the game and have my money's worth even at the "stealbox" price. BUT... Compared to CM1 there are still many good things taken out for no good reason: No limited intelligence - I can immediately identify enemy forces right across the map, tank type, is it an inf HQ?, are they engineers?, etc, etc, far too much info is revealed too quickly at very long ranges (and totally unrealistic) on all settings. No operations/2 player campaigns Some crazy tacAI - too many tank crew survivors attacking overwhelming enemy forces with their pistols (at 70 metres range!) and infantry/mgs constantly opening up on buttoned tanks when they should be hiding for self preservation. However still the best game around on this topic and clearly worth buying.
  16. Games received today. Posted by "Priority mail" on 20th May, received in London 3rd June. Actual total cost of each game including postage, shipping, taxes, handling charges, etc, etc just over $100 US equivalent. Not cheap for a "discounted pre-order" of a game currently being advertised by BF as costing $65 at full price. Maybe BF could go back to their old usual way of shipping from Europe for European customers for the modules...customers might prefer it.
  17. If QBs worked "great" I would be the first to cheer. lets see now - there was my QB vs Tolga where he was attacking, and the only objective on the map started behind the attackers front line... then there was my QB with simmox where, as well as his infantry pointlessly and stupidly firing on my tanks at all ranges all the time (so revealing their positions), we then discovered that we both had US forces, despite selecting US v Germans, and he has infantry only, despite selecting mixed force. Plenty more like that - QBs work as advertised less than half the time - I have gien up on them as a result; its a waste of tyime with too many games abandoned. And as games now take several minutes to load, instead of the less than a minute or much less for CM1, it is very frustrating trying QBs.
  18. Current CMBN interface a pain to use compared to CM1 ( I know I don't get it) CM1 camera view controls were MUCH better and easier to use. Frequently find it is impossible to select units (either by clicking on unit, or on icon) - Never in CM1! Frequently find it is impossible to select a spot for waypoint, or the waypoint appears in the wrong place, or it is simply not visible. Never in CM1 Pathing does not work over bridges. (eg select spot on other side of bridge, then further on - my troops cross the bridge, then turn around and go back to paddle in the river at the bank, then turn again to continue advancing) Never saw anything like that in CM1 Interface makes it impossible to predict where troops will move to as it is impossible to visually spot impassable terrain. and finally...QBs do not work (worked in CM 1) Despite the game looking beautiful, I find working the current interface a chore and a struggle compared to the smooth elegance and ease of use of CM1.
  19. But I do have a letter from parcelfarce demanding £37.79 (over $62 US) before I can see my game/manual! Perhaps US folks can now see why British customers were so upset at the way BF treated them on pre-orderes... Thanks a lot!! After CMSF I promised myself I would NEVER ever pre-order from BF again...but my enthusiasm and trust trumped caution. (PS the game looks lovely but is pretty bugged; no working QBs and more problems with the interface come out with each game)
  20. No - I never run dual monitors (Also no idea why somebody calling themselves alicewei is copying the exact wording of my earlier post?) I will try non-full screen...
  21. Hi Hubert I found the full screen option - it is already (and always) turned on. The problem I have is now intermittent; sometimes I see a replay and sometimes I don't??? Still a puzzle to me..
  22. Hi Hubert Thanks for your suggestion. I think I always run SC in full screen mode - at least it always takes up the entire screen on both my laptops and desktops. Do I need to do anything special to ensure full screen mode? Thanks Sandy
  23. My laptop is a Sony with a ATI Radeon HD 5650 graphics chip Wlape3 I will send you a file to try, thanks... Krista - I agree I need a handicap in our game - too tough for Axis in Brute Force mod...so no problem there, and I am OK to continue without replays. But I have the same problem against Peter Zima in a pair of mirrored games that we have suspended until we can solve the problem.
