1. Very nice, many thanks for your hard work. I leraned a lot from your page.
 2.
quote:
Originally posted by Wolfpack: How about a pre-war movie? One of Charlie Chaplain's best, and first (I think) talkie, The Great Dictator. Great spoof on the Germans and Italians. Plus, that speech at the end has been conceded as one of the top 50 moments in movies. Not a whole lot of war action, but it's still a classic.

Well, if you go that far back Duck Soup/Marx Brothers is a VERY funny political/military spoof as well. 3. Thanks russellmz for posting these! Very nice of you. Any chance they can be placed on web page somewhere so people with questions can be pointed there? ------------------ "Do not needlessly endanger your lives until I give you the signal" Dwight D. Eisenhower
 4. I like the idea though. ------------------ "Do not needlessly endanger your lives until I give you the signal" Dwight D. Eisenhower
 5. Banners or not, I like your site. keep up the good work. ------------------ "Do not needlessly endanger your lives until I give you the signal" Dwight D. Eisenhower
 6. In no particular order: Patton (Probably my fav.) The Dirty Dozen (not a "war" movie per se but very fun) Das Boot Saving Private Ryan
 7. Good Luck Wilhammer. One last piece of advice--have fun. After all you have great opportunity, so make sure YOU enjoy it. ------------------ "Do not needlessly endanger your lives until I give you the signal" Dwight D. Eisenhower
 8. Thanks again Deanco! Again, I comend you for you devotion and hard word. ------------------ "Do not needlessly endanger your lives until I give you the signal" Dwight D. Eisenhower
 9. Sorry to clog the message board (picture an oompa-loompa kneeling and cry out for forgiveness). Hey Nav, Your email is not going through! I keep getting the following message--
quote:
This Message was undeliverable due to the following reason: Each of the following recipients was rejected by a remote mail server. The reasons given by the server are included to help you determine why each recipient was rejected. Recipient: <Nav's email address here> Reason: Requested mail action aborted: exceeded storage allocation.

I've tired zipped and non-zipped files. Any ideas? If the problem is on my end (which I don't think it is b/c I've been sending much longer messages to folks) Email me and let me know. ------------------ "Do not needlessly endanger your lives until I give you the signal" Dwight D. 10.
quote:
Originally posted by Wilhammer: I am really concerned about being overly pushy, and insensitive. This is whole new ground to me.

Check out http://www.cyndislist.com/oral.htm Geneaology is my other hobby, and genealogists have a wealth of information on how to conduct meaningful and sensitive oral interviews. There are even forms on how to conduct oral interviews with veterans. Some points I keep in mind: 1) Be PREPARED beforehand! Use the resources from the url above. Have your questions written out and organized beofrehand. Have a timeline of the war ready and ask them where they were on important dates-"How did you hear about the surrender?", etc.. 2) I usually, have someone show me pictures or memoribilia [sp?] and the stories just start flowing. It's much easier to work your questions around recollections that are naturally occuring. It's also much less pushy, invasive and forced if you follow their lead rather than trying to lead them. 3) Don't forget to bring a tape recorder AND a blank tape. 4) Most important--make certain the interviewee gets a chance to edit/explain/clarify what you have written. Nothing makes people more angry than feeling they have been misrepresented. Hope this helps. ------------------ "Do not needlessly endanger your lives until I give you the signal" Dwight D. 11. Hahahahahahahahahahahah! BTW; hahahahahahahah! ------------------ "Do not needlessly endanger your lives until I give you the signal" Dwight D. Eisenhower
 12. Sounds like a fantastic idea. As my professor would say "Does that mean your volunteering to do it?" ------------------ "Do not needlessly endanger your lives until I give you the signal" Dwight D. Eisenhower
