    Depends on your motherboard. If you can take advantage of 4X AGP then it might be worth an upgrade. My motherboard can only handle 2X AGP so I see no reason to upgrade since the card is already more than the AGP slot can take advantage of already.

    Are you running direct X 7 or higher, and if so are you getting keybug check errors when the card memory is maxed out? I just reformatted my hard drive, and I'm still getting these errors, and I suspect it’s the drivers on the card causing the problem, in spite of the fact I have the latest ones (which are still old in computer gadget time).

    When did the Soviets start to use rocket propelled grenades? From my tiny knowledge of the subject they seem to have persevered with the AT rifle longer than was actually profitable.     There was a really interesting field test http://www.100thww2.org/support/776tankhits.html of bazookas posted on this forum a while back. The penetration data BTS uses is based on the best available test data; there is much anecdotal evidence, along with the field test linked above that suggests that the bazooka didn't work as well as the test results say it should of. I suspect that either there was wobble in flight, or a detonation problem causing the round to detonate at less than optimum angle. It also appears from the test that the small shaped charge of the bazooka was easily defeated by obstacles on the tank such as "towing-jack device", wheels, and "exhaust pipes." It'll be interesting to see if and how bazookas are modeled in CMBB.

    I'm getting ready to retire my backup computer: a Pentium II 350 with a voodoo II, 96mb 100mhz memory. Once I get my new machine in the mail and configured for school, work, and play, you can have it. Wouldn't get more than $50 for it anyway. At least you could connect two voodoo cards together and perhaps be able to run CMBB that way. It really does need a home. I'd hate to see it go to waste.

    Oh, to answer the original question:

    Currently: 450MHZ AMD K6III; 200+MB Ram, Viper 770 TNT2 non ultra video card.

    In the mail: AMD Athalon 1800, 512MB 2700 DDR ram, GeForce4 64MD DDR ram MX440 video card. CMBB should scream on it.

    Nope I'm afraid not; which reminds me, I've got to figure out how to salvage my inbox and address book from the hard drive I'm getting ready to reformat. Don't let "Gator" on your machine. It gets into everything.

    Removed a nuisance program from my main computer the other day called “Gator.” Didn’t know what a nuisance it really was. Now my dial-up connection doesn’t work. Tried re-loading windows etc. to no avail. I’m now in the process of damage control before I completely reformat my hard-drive and rebuild the computer. Without a CDR or other large storage device this is a slow process. I’ve given up any hope of saving all but the truly important files. Turns will be dead slow until I get my machine back in service. Sorry for any inconvenience.

    Everybody should have at least a set up from me now. Von Lucke: the setup got lost in some mysterious black hole, but miraculously reappeared. O.K., so it was marked as read, and I didn't notice I hadn't done anything with it. At any rate, I look forward to your reply set-up. Everyone else: the turns would be coming back to you faster if my bloody pop3 would work more often than not.

    Diceman's Combat Mission Campaign Needs Playtesters!

    There's been much noise as of late about giving Combat Mission an operational or campaign level. A pipe dream for sure, but it reminded me how I wish Combat Mission had linear campaigns the way Steel Panthers did. So I decided to do something about it.

    I've designed a spreadsheet and have completed three out of eight scenarios for Diceman's Combat Mission Campaign. Can you lead your American combat team from the beaches of Normandy to the Reichstag without decimating it? See if you can with my linear campaign.

    Not sure what you guys mean by units being able to resupply when surrounded. As it is now, if a unit is completely cutoff from a supply source (remember HQ's, Cities and Fortifications all act as supply) then it will not be be able to reinforce. If a unit is completely surrounded on a city or a fortification then resupply will be limited and maxes out at a value = 5. It must be completely surrounded in the sense that it is surrounded by enemy units on all possible land hexes, if there is a friendly unit in the bunch then this limitation will not apply as it is not considered to be completely surrounded.

    I disagree with friendly units being allowed to keep each other in supply as long as they are adjacent to each other. This gives adjacent units the same power as an HQ. Also, if HQs are cut off there supply capability should be limited to one or two turns while cut off. Creating a cauldron with more than one unit in it should be a blessing, not a curse. Just my two cents.

    Also, I agree that there should be less experience penalty overall rebuilding a unit slowly rather than rebuilding it quickly.

    I also would like to see the ability to move units a bit at a time rather than the way it is now. I think I should be able to go back to a unit that has not expended all possible action points, rather than loose them once I click on another unit.

    The ability to attack with multiple units at the same time would be good too.

    You may also want to consider a sequel with the scale halved to 25 sq mile hexes.

    Airborne would also be way cool.

    Overall, a very enjoyable game. Thank you for bringing grand scale strategy to the world of windows.

    In this particular case the lower of cost or market was zero. Management kept the bottles on the books to hide a horrendous equity to debt ratio.

    Furthermore, they could claim the income from the sale up front, while doing an exactly equivalent transaction with the counterparty that they would expense on a 10-year, SL amortization, thus boosting reported income. Why not, everybody does it.

    I used to be stationed at Eglin Air Force Base. They've got a real nice white collar prison there. Better then our barracks, so the prisoners told me. They also told me "everybody does it" a lot too. Publicly owned companies have to record earnings when earned. Top executives at PepsiCo Int. tried something somewhat similar to what you just outlined as a matter of fact in their efforts to hide loans and instead record the loans as sales. I think those guys sell life insurance now.
