  1. A reply by the entity known as BTS in the post about targeting arty spotters brought a question to my mind that I had not considered before...

For game purposes, are some units assumed (programmed) sighting range based on having binoculars handy?

What Units would this include? (as they would obviously be the best units to sneak into an enemy overwatch position)

As I said, I had not considered this to be included in the game, but if it is... AWESOME!

    Thanks!

  2. I've recently become one...

except the last TRP was placed a little too close to my own platoon.

Nevertheless, it is EXCELLENT to be able to use your FO's from the back of the map! I'm tired of sneaking them up into the next place to be overrun by the enemy...

  3. C'mon Lurkers, arise!

Your posts won't ignored any more than the vast majority of mine!

Your revelations won't be as startling as The Commissars recently acknowledged fondness for "pretty little horsies."

Your spelling cannot possibly be worse than ROB 1's!

You won't be any more baffled by Rexford's arcane technical spouting as the rest of us!

You can't insult someones shiny new mod's any worse than Maximus!

Certainly you can't PO people here more than Gunny Bunny.

You won't be the first to be yelled at by MadMatt.

And finally, your ultimate banning can't be any more gloriously blazing as Fionn's.

    So c'mon... SPEAK OUT!

(Now where EXACTLY is this "smiley Legend"???)

Based on this news, I think everyone should use E-Mail or a chat to continue this conversation... wouldn't want to see BTS or any of you in trouble.

The company I work for (...and hate) ran through a copyright action, and it isn't pretty.

Again, the AI was shooting smoke off left and right instead of lethal ordnance at positions of mine containing armor assets which it could see into. What's with that? This issue was supposed to have been remedied with v1.1, yes?

I believe the old 1.1 complaint about smoke was that it was fired too often towards weak or INFANTRY units. Since you say that there was visible armor in your positions, the firing of smoke by the AI makes sense.

  6. I'm pretty sure that no matter WHAT other orders a unit has, as long as it is in the process of sneaking it won't engage... Thus, the sneaking. wink.gif

    It will return fire.

I find that MOVE works well, allowing units to fire at enemies while moving to a new location.

  7. This may not be entirely on topic, but:

Playing a scenario, I had some TD's firing at a Panther from a treeline. The panther was in a city, and had no idea where the fire was coming from. The shots kept bouncing off or breaking up... I finally got a tread hit and immobilized the beast. The TD's kept pummeling the tank with ricochetes until the crew finally bailed (NOT a KO... the crew just bailed... I suspect because of the immobilized + no idea where fire was coming from.)

It's stuff like this that makes CM better than any other wargame... every single battle is unique.
