Two historical questions on German units/OOB’s
lcm1947 replied to Abbott's topic in Combat Mission Archive #3 (2001)
As far as the American gun went can't say for WWII but in my day (1966 - 1969 ) they were mounted on jeeps. They were 105MM if I'm not mistaken. You didn't see many of them and I agree that few were used or seen in WWII also. Just a point of interest plus I just wanted to say something. -
Ok, hell to Ron.

AAR The Stuart Vs the Panther
lcm1947 replied to aka_tom_w's topic in Combat Mission Archive #3 (2001)
Very good read. Thanks for telling it. Yeah, I bet the guys in the Stuart about Sh!t in thier pants. Doesn't it make you feel great when something like that happens? Is this a cool game or what? -
M4 Ubertank Stealth Technology
lcm1947 replied to Tank Man's topic in Combat Mission Archive #3 (2001)
I got you. You don't need to edit it for me but maybe some of the more difficult guys might want you to. Anyway, that sounds like that would piss me off if I were playing the German's but since I prefer playing the American's - sounds great to me. I play the earlier years alot so am always getting the original M4 but they just get knocked out alot by damn near everything including infantry. I will have to try them even more often to see if I can have the same luck. -
CM II- DEMO (dont do it)
lcm1947 replied to heckler_rider's topic in Combat Mission Archive #3 (2001)
I will wait until the actual game is out. I just want to experience the game for real the first time - with everything available to use and drive and kill, mostly kill. -

lcm1947 replied to Maximus's topic in Combat Mission Archive #3 (2001)
Hey I think they look - well I was going to say cool, but after the remark about the leather jerkins I won't, so they look really good. Very nice job and thank you. -

Looks great. Please besure to let us know when it's ready and waiting to be downloaded. I just recently ( 4 days ago ) got DSL and I am ready to do some serious downloading. Bring them on!! Oh yes, that baby looks good. Excellent coloring job. But I really don't think the American's had one. -
Very nice detail and the coloring is very good. It looks real.

Oh I'm glad you asked the question. I've been curious myself but wouldn't dare ask. I hope for your sake you searched first.

COMBAT MISSIONS: Panzerknacker !

Just finished reading Panzerknacker. Very interesting reading. Thanks for the work Gremlin. And to think soldiers being afraid of a little tank. Should be ashamed. -
Fernando's Latest - a PREVIEW!
lcm1947 replied to Old Dog's topic in Combat Mission Archive #3 (2001)
Very Very nice. Man, the detail is - well it's - damn nice! It's almost too pretty. That was not meant in any form of bad or negative. It is damn near - yeah - well - pretty, but only in a good way. -
It really is nice but the flowers??? Not trying to be a wise ass as I greatly appreciate mods but - you know it's war time and all. Over than that a very nice job. Thanks.

This is just a game. No comparison. -
Man, I just for the first time ever (AI game) actually got one of these tanks into enemy territory deep enough to encounter a pillbox. WOW! What a sight. It took that pillbox out like no body's business. So I know what I'll be going after pillboxes with in the future. But sure is hard to keep them safe until they get back there but what a job they do. It's got to be the best weapon to use for that purpose.

Your site is very nice. I personally like the white background. It's different. The Tiger mod is looking good but really hard to see with just the front shot. But overall it looks pretty darn good. I really like the color.

I'll probably be embarrased for taking a crack at this but here goes. I've had a couple of drinks so am feeling brave. The captain or whoever only has to yell over his shoulder, hey private drop some shells on that hill over there where as in order to have arty dropped I imagine you would have to phone the artillary company and get permisson and then give them the exact location to drop it and that would require time to relay that order to the actual people in charge of the guns. Anyway, that's how I justify the time it takes.

What German tanks saw action on the Eastern front and...
lcm1947 replied to Pzman's topic in Combat Mission Archive #3 (2001)
Thank you Sturmtiger101 for the list. I've been hoping someone would answer my question. So, looks like a good many. I can hardly wait. I've never really heard of most of them so It'll really be exciting to see what they looked like and to drive them. I sure wish they would stop horseing around and come out with it. Just kidding, I realize the longer it takes the better it'll be. -
