BTS & CM reshaping the wargamming field?
Dilger replied to Oompa-Loompa's topic in Combat Mission Archive #2 (2000)
PC Gamer has a wide distribution which makes it very important asset in this medium. The review I read several months ago was the first I heard of BTS. The favorable review convinced me to order the game. Needless to say they were dead on! -
I have been asking for a campaign format ever since I started playing CM. There has been a large number of posts on the subject (which indicates that a large group of people are interested). However, BTS has not made any statement (that I'm aware of anyway) as to the future of campaigning in CM2. I'll keep my fingers crossed. Dilger

Close Combat blows chunks compared to this
Dilger replied to ScaryTortoise's topic in Combat Mission Archive #2 (2000)
I must admit, I don't understand the need to trash CC. Before CM there was nothing even remotely close to offering what it had. It was as revolutionary to the genre in its time, as CM is now. Besides, though they share many aspects, they ARE different games. I will buy CC5 even though I didn't really enjoy CC4. The series has provided me with endless hours of enjoyable gameplay. For that they have earned my respect and a little loyalty. I'm glad to see that some of you agree! (M Hofbauer, Col Deadmarsh, Jagdwyrm.) Dilger -
End of Game Results for Campaigns
Dilger replied to Slapdragon's topic in Combat Mission Archive #2 (2000)
Slapdragon, At last, another who thinks as I do on the suject of Campaigns. The thing that gets me is that it is enough of an issue that it continues to surface over and over in various threads. This would seem to indicate that it was important to enough people that BTS would consider it for CM2. Alas, I can only hope! -
That is a work of art!

I'm running a P2 300 with a Voodoo 2 2000. I have all Tiger's tank/Infantry mods and I don't notice a difference. The tile mods are another story altogether though. God bless Tiger and all his upcoming work!

Has anyone made new winter uniform mods lately?
Dilger replied to jpinard's topic in Combat Mission Archive #2 (2000)
Those look awesome!Good lookin' out Matt!!!!! -
Today I shelled a crossroad juction while playing a user-made scenario. By chance I caught a mass of American Armor with my 150mm. As it turns out, the shells knocked out 8 Sherman tanks which for some reason had crowded together. In other games Artillery has little effect on Armor targets. Has anyone come across any data which would indicate the historical impact of artillery attacks on American armor. The tallies I've come across include everything from mines to AP rounds but nothing about artillery. How realistic were the results of my game?

OT: Why did German helmets have "horns"?
Dilger replied to The Commissar's topic in Combat Mission Archive #2 (2000)
Horns?!? Haven't seen any horns! Must be thinking of spiked helmets. [This message has been edited by Dilger (edited 09-17-2000).] -

Hitler! Hitler! (or 2034.wav)
Dilger replied to Runyan99's topic in Combat Mission Archive #2 (2000)
I have never noticed any sound clip exclaiming Hitler's name during gameplay. If there was it would seem a bit much though! Not likely BTS would have allowed it into the game anyway. Steve, Thanks for your reply. I realize you are working on the targeting AI and have made it a priority in previous patches. It is your involvment in the discussion community and the willingness to address issues with players that has made this such a rewarding all-around game experience. Dilger
