Yellow indicates your unit is targeted by someone (direct fire), orange I believe indicates indirect fire (mortor & art) with line of sight, pinkish red usually indicates trgeted with no line of sight. ------------------ Are you gonna pull them pistols? Or whistle Dixie? --- Josey Wales

Does a bullet fall out of a gun when pointed downhill? Neither does a bazooka shell.

I too have noticed this when I attempt to jump out of a game to check mail (or do work....), CM is just gone! Unless you are at one of the menus (either main menu or the email/tcp menu) the game is gone!

M8's can ruin your day, or... You can toast them with a few well placed panzerschrecks! CM is like any other battlefield and you most protect your flanks at all times! Two of my opponents have recently tried end runs with their greyhounds/pumas, one game I got two greyhounds while losing 1 Marder, the other I bagged a Puma with no loss. In a recent pbem game I had two snipers sneaking into this village. They stumbled across some "inf" on the top floor of a building about 50 and 65 meters away (50m from one, 65m from the other). Orders were given for both to fire upon the enemy unit. During the turn resolution, neither unit fired... Ok, repeat orders next turn.. Same results, no one shoots. Lets get closer, orders to advance upon the building were given. As soon as sniper #2 starts to move out, the enemy "inf" becomes a panzerschreck which opens fire at about 60m. Luckily no damage and the shreck must have stunned himself cause he only shot once in that minute. Question, is there a minimum range a sniper will open fire? Why wont they shoot the zook at such a close range? Do snipers have grenades? Do I rush the building and duke it out? Two man schreck team VS two snipers in a closed cage match! My pbem opponent has US Troops with Churchill VIII for support, two of em! Hey, its no big deal, ifn that combo kicks my but, next time, maybe I'll try it! I started programming PattonsBest in C way back in 1988, got it to where it would do all the math for me but could never figure out how to do the graphics part..... Being on the receiving end of the Col_Deadmarsh 169m zook team (it was a IVH, BTW) I about threw the monitor across the room! Not only was it 169 meters, it was in the rain and through some trees! Needless to say with the tank gone hsi M7 had no problem dispatching two of my HT's on the next turn! On the other hand, I just had a "green" piat team miss a sitting still HT @ 103m 7 times in a row! I always remeber PH Day! (cause it is my birthday as well!). Pearl Harbor may not have been the "surprise" that we Americans have been lead to believe over these many years. Yes, it was a surprise, but the Ambassador was supose to deliver the notice before the attack took place. Japan knew the Americans would be a tough nut to crack and their only real chance was to knock out the American Navy in one shot. You can install the patch and continue to play the 1.05 games (as 1.05) or you can update your 1.05 games to 1.1 games. (Your opponent must have the 1.1 update installed to play 1.1 games). You can dont even have to rename your current 1.05 executable. (although I did, named it cm105.exe, pretty original huh! <G>) ------------------ Are you gonna pull them pistols? Has anyone else noticed that 1.1 shuts down if you Alt-Tab out of a game and then try to go back in? Or is it just me? I use to ALT-Tab out of my AI game to check to see if any email had arrived, if none, then back to the AI game. Now when I try to do that, I CM isnt there anymore!

I read in one of the post to be sure you are typing in all the numbers (leading zeros too) of the ip address. Such as 24.7.192.10 would be entered as 024.007.192.010 Just a thought ------------------ Are you gonna pull them pistols? Or whistle Dixie? --- Josey Wales

I too really liked CC (well 1 & 2, 3 sort of). I have not bought CC4 yet, and probably wont until it hits the bargin bin for 9.99! Same for CC5. CM has ruined me and my life! I cant stand to be away from it for more than a few hours! I am starting to dream about these battles! I HAVE BEEN ASSIMILATED! (I do love it so!) Long Live BTS! With this new utility (which is great BTW), I would like to offer this file naming sequence for fellow pbem'ers. Starting with the 1st minute order phase save the file as filname01a, and e-mail to you opponent, he gives his orders and saves as filename01b, and returns to you, you then watch the movie and save the files as filename01m and send it back to opponent, who watches movie and then gives his orders and saves file as filename02a, back to you for orders and you save as filename02b, and so on, then you take all the filename*m.txt files and place them in one directory and viola! Watch the whole battle replayed before your very eyes! (PS this was not my original idea, but was taught to me during one of my earliest PBEM games.
