  1. I agree with Mr DIFOLCO, the real genius behind CM is the engine and all the complex calculations that go on behind the graphics (which are excellent IMO). Every shot is placed IAW the actuall weapons characteristics and performance, every impact is based on the range and the exact angle at which the shot strikes. All the damage that shot causes is based on the armor characistics of the target vehicle,it's an incredible simulation of WWII combat. I'd still play the game if it used pictures of tabletop counters. smile.gif

  2. This one worked out in my favor,I'm in the middle of a PBEM game, med map, moderate hills,village,U.S. against Germans one of my 81mm's popped a Hetzer on the first round of an area fire that I had called because the Hetzer had killed one of my Chaffee's.

Talk about lucky shots! My mortar team was only Regular quality,so there wasn't any uncanny skill involved. biggrin.gif

  3. Guys, the Army isn't giving up ALL it's heavy units,IIRC only 3 out of 10 active Divs.are going to the Medium Div. concept and none of the Nat'l Guard Divs. are either. From what I've read in Army Times and Soldiers Magazine the Medium concept is meant as a gap filler to give the RDF some heavier backbone until the heavy armored units can reach the theater of operations,AND to add some weight in OOTW operations where heavy units are too much FP to throw into the mix.
