  1. Somehow, I've deleted all of my original scenarios. It happened soon after I downloaded the Marine module. Now when I select Battle, all I can see are the USMC scenarios. Can someone please send me the original scenario files so I can load them back up? vickreys@comcast.net
  2. There are also six sounds in the hull, but they are not readily available and take quite a bit of time to get to them. Plus, the manuals say to not put HEAT rounds there, so it's just sabot. Not sure, but I'd assume MPAT rounds shouldn't go there either.
  3. Rocky, I have seen this too. Quite annoying.

  5. We all know about the pathfinding and LOS issues, so hopefully I'm not beating a dead horse on this one, but where's the smoke? I have played a bunch of the scenarios and wanted to call for artillery delivered smoke to cover my moves. We are playing in a desert with little cover or concealment available. That's the cards your dealt when you're in the desert, but again where's the smoke? Mortars in RL deliver white phosphorous. It blocks visible as well as IR and thermal visibility. It blooms quick but doesn't last long. Oh yeah, it also starts fires and kills troops in the open. Artillery delivered smoke, however, takes longer to build and lasts a lot longer on the ground. It won't kill anybody either, but is available in multi-spectral screening so it still works against thermals, etc. I've not encountered it yet, but how do you execute a deliberate obstacle breach without smoke when the "O" in SOSR stands for obscure? Okay - rant off. Anybody else feel the same?
  6. Try sitting in a TF or higher TOC sometime trying to track what's going on, especially while moving. It's gotten a bit easier since the digital age, but it still is a bear. I think this scenario is a perfect representation of that, although I do agree it to be a click fest if trying to do it live.
  7. Hey LT, stay safe and God's speed. I was the last S3 Air of 1-32 AR at Fort Lewis, which became your unit, I believe, under LTC Petard. Good luck.
  8. Okay folks, you wanted an M1 tanker to talk to and here I am. I left the Army in 2000 as a captain, all of my field time serving in M1A1 battalions. Is the M1 series invulnerable? No. There are spots on the tank that are weaker than others. Can a T72 destroy an M1? Yes. Is it tough to kill an M1 from the front? Absolutely. Is the M1 the uber tank? No, but it is the best I know of at present. Especially when discussing the M1A2 series. What are your questions?
  9. Taki, no offense, but your data is wrong. The problems with the gas turbine engine were largely eliminated in the early M1 models (105mm gun). It's now a pretty relianble engine which gives incredible spring speed. The generator you speak of, I'm assuing is the external one. It is used to power the tank when the engine is off. If it breaks, it doesn't effect anything other than requiring the tank to start the engine when the batteries start to drain. Generators were not a feature of most M1 and M1A1s until the late 1990s.
  10. Nice pictures Harv. And we even let you out of the country with them. Glad I had the opportunity to meet you and the rest of the gang.
  11. Darn it; I was hoping to be the first. What a great day! Those of you who could've come and didn't, you really chose poorly. What was not to love? Blackhorse and the Army did one heck of great job in rolling out the red carpet for us. Thanks to all who attended and especially to Blackhorse and the good 'ole US Army. It was a day not soon to be forgotten. Matt even had some goodies as take-aways.
  12. Blackhorse, You've got me by a few years. I went to AOAC in '97. Spent 4 years at Riley beforehand. Spent a year in Korea and then 18 months at Lewis before the first medium brigade encouraged me to get out. We can talk about that later. See you on the 6th.
  13. I'm definately coming. Hey Blackhorse, what's the surpise? You can't get us into SIMNET or the CCTs (never had a chance to play with those) can you? When did you do AOAC? USTanker
