  1. I'm playing a QB against the AI with a large town on the map. If (and I mean if)I reach a large building I plan on trying it.
  2. If you have an nvidia card, right click the desktop, choose properties, settings, advanced. On my system I click on the Gforce 2 GTS tab and then select additional properties. I can choose my anti-aliasing mode here. Try something similar.
  3. Glasses! That's it. Now I know why we defeated Nazi Germany and won the Cold War!
  4. Wow. Thanks for sharing SFB. I'd turn that review into 'High Times' for cash if I were you.
  5. Choose options, modify, select CMBB and select modify again. Then browse to the proper start file. Click to add it, then click OK.
  6. Just had this happen to me in a PBEM QB. Gun damaged, hull machine gun wouldn't fire. Tank was a man short, however. I'll try the n key next time this situation crops up. Maybe a bug, or maybe another little detail BFC included. Time (or BFCer, nudge nudge, wink wink) will tell.
  7. I think this is just a bit of a misunderstanding of the game by the reviewer. As we are a lovable bunch of lunkheads here, I emailed Eduardo and suggested he look at the game on a nvidia equipped PC. Made a small suggestion that he sit in on a 155 bombardment from level 1 and 2 with an infantry squad for a real feel of the game. Invited him to visit this forum and get a game or two; think he will rather enjoy the game with a little exposure. Uh, forgot to warn him not to go to the Peng Challenge thread for a game!
  8. Try using regular trenches for AT trenches. Place AT mines behind them. Hide AT teams in the trench, or not as is your wont.
  9. Let me get this straight. A guy from a site called "Staticplay" finds CMBB boring. Does anyone else get the irony???
  10. I'm so embarassed! I never should have removed my lips from the arses of those who anticipate my every need! Note to self - always check the hot keys list for the ones you never used in CMBO...
  11. ...and not in the Twilight Zone! As usual, the level of support is 'above and beyond' teh rest of the industry. Now if I may remove my lips from your collective arses long enough to make a constructive suggestion... Would it be feasible to add a hot key that would allow us to select the passenger(s) of half tracks? I have a hard time rotating the camera 'juuust sooo' to allow me a 50-50 chance of clicking on a passenger in a SPW. Maybe we click on the half track, then ctrl-p?
  12. I'm pretty sure this was covered before in another thread. Answer is in the submachine guns vs bolt action rifles. Much more firepower. You may also notice that in close combat the assistant to a machine gunner will stop helping the gunner and go to his SMG as it is so much more effective. You can see the numbers if you look at the info screen for a unit.
  13. Schoerner, I love this approach. Not only did you preserve the integrity of the actual buying process (yeah, you W4r3z 8oYz pay attention) but provided a clean remedy for those annoyed by the Waffle Grenadienes.
  14. Thanks, Silvio. Now I won't need to strain my brain by looking in the manual.
  15. You're in the wrong room for an argument. It's "being hit on the head" lessons here.
  16. I do mean "tight quarters", eg put them in a building where they fire at 10m or under as a unit or five trys to cross a road and enter the building. I'm not sure at what range "close quarters" calculations start at in CM, so I didn't use the term. I'm under the impression you must be right on top of the enemy unit to go bayonet and gun butts. I'll RTFM to see if it gives a distance. I do remember reading about unique sounds for close quarters fighting I'll try to listen for the sounds TFM says you'll hear next time I see units starting to close within 20m.
  17. I don't believe you! This is a bad thing, hopefully on BFC's punch list. [ October 17, 2002, 01:18 AM: Message edited by: Snarker ]
  18. Submachine guns... big fire power at short range, especially effective in tight quarters or out of ambush. Not a lot of ammo, however. No bug. [ October 17, 2002, 12:56 AM: Message edited by: Snarker ]
  19. I saw this when playing "Clash of the Titans II".
  20. Your target is out of action, but it is not yet apparent to the firing unit. The death clock is the period of time it takes your unit to realize the target is finished. Your unit will continue to fire until the death clock expires and either the crew bails or your unit becomes very sure everyone inside is dead.
  21. Huh??? Aggh!!! [ploof!] Head explodes. In m/s. [ October 15, 2002, 07:23 PM: Message edited by: Snarker ]
