Personally, I have used all of the three major MOD managers available for the CM game system. When CMMOS first was available most of the mods didn't work with the system but the potential was great. Through the work of many dedicated CMers a large number of mods became available; but not all. The rule sets became a problem, some of the best mod were unavailable; and it was alot of work to convert them. The best right now is the (IMHO) McMMM system; with very little work all mods can be adapted to work with it. CMMOS worked well but McMMM is a much easier system. I would say most of the PC crowd are still using sub 1GHz machines. Most of them cannot afford to upgrade very often (fortunately, I'm not one of them). I'm sure a similar proportion exists with the Mac users. Why exclude 70 to 90% of your customer base just to accomidate a minority?

As far as I understand; If one would add a certain mod after applying a CMMOS ruleset mod; that mod would overwrite that particular model, and leave the others untouched. The only problems would be with shared BMPs or applying another CMMOS ruleset which affects that particular mod.

zukkov had it right. The second world war was the ost front. Since I first installed CMBO I couldn't wait until the Great Patriotic War was done under the CM engine (and I was not disappointed either).
