Holy thread reincarnation!!! Juju, I am dabbling with your mod using the Gustav Line, (for my own personal use of course). Most of the weapons work actually, but there's one or two that don't. I want to replace the Lee-Enfield No.1 MkIII in the game with your Lee Enfield weapon slot and graphic. Is it just a matter of renaming the graphic in the folder? I have tried and couldn't get it to work, so maybe I renamed it incorrectly.

Bug: MG deployment in buildings (Gustav)
phil stanbridge replied to BDW's topic in Combat Mission Fortress Italy
I have seen the bug mentioned by AKD myself, but it has never been anything like 12 minutes to deploy. Would be interesting to see the save. -
Troina! Fantastico!

THe standard 1.01 is using v2 tech. Did you have to unzip the file first? -
Troina! Fantastico!
phil stanbridge replied to phil stanbridge's topic in Combat Mission Fortress Italy
It *should* still work. CMFI is using v2 technology so the campaign should work fine. Where are you installing the file? -
Well, the question is, what do you prefer? Fighting in the 'soft underbelly' of Italy (yeah right ) or amongst the deadly Bocage in Normandy? Both games offer something different. One benefit of Gustav (and there are many) is the AA vehicles and the slightly different challenge this brings.

Just remind me which one was the second mission? I haven't played this in ages due to beta testing and other assignments. -
I believe they want it finished as soon as possible

Artillery Ruins Scenarios
phil stanbridge replied to Runyan99's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
I know it's a game but it also supposed to be as realistic as possible. Artillery was present in great quantities on both sides. I love using it, but I hate receiving it It's part of the challenge! If artillery is present in a small map scenario then you can be sure there is a good reason for it -

Juju's Interface Mod for CMx2
phil stanbridge replied to Innerlander's topic in Combat Mission Fortress Italy
His current V2 interface works well enough in CMFI. Obviously it is missing some of the US weapons and all of the Italian armaments but the interface itself is very nice. Marco's interface is also excellent as an alternative and that caters specifically for CMFI. -
Your -2 moments...

haha loving this thread.. I recently lost an entire platoon to erm.. not so friendly fire and cataclysmic tactical planning. I called in one of those supposedly damn accurate air attacks. I lined my platoon nicely up against some bocage using the hunt command and told them all to hold their fire until they were ready. Platoon ready. Perfect planning and preparation I thought! I was awaiting my air support to soften up the stone buildings that were some distance ahead of me. I knew Germans lay in wait.. I just didn't know where. I wanted to expose them to my infantry platoon. Turn button pressed and within 30 seconds whooooooooooooosh. Two entire sections of MY platoon were minced and obliterated by straffing.. I desperately tried to reorganize the remainder of my men but they were having none of it.. So I thought damn that's unlucky. No way will flyboy miss like that again. So I decided to hold my position. He'll come around and see the Germans this time. I decided to expose a section and let fly with lead. Some German fire was returned exposing their positions. Excellent I thought... Next turn they're dead.. Turn button pressed and I could hear the Typhoon coming in for another attack! Go get them I shouted.. Whoooooooooooooooosh! Bomb dropped. Fanstas.......... Arrghhhhhh!!! Remainder of platoon wiped out by bomb blast. Unfortunately the bomb didn't land quite where I expected. All the platoon bar a few stragglers were decimated in two attack runs. Lessons to be learnt. NEVER, EVER use area fire near friendlies -
Killing Tanks Gangnam Style!
phil stanbridge replied to dungeontiger's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
Yeah you can't afford to send a lone tank into an urban area without infantry protection. Out of interest I wonder why the crewmen used to bail out into inevitable doom. Surely if the tank internals were not on fire/melted to oblivion they would stand a greater chance of survival where they were. To jump out like that into the street was suicidal. -
How do I download 2.0 for free?
phil stanbridge replied to FaxisAxis's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
It is far, far more than a patch. It adds new features and upgrades a lot of things behind the scenes. For $10 it is an absolute billy bargain. By the way, plenty of other companies do this too. Hearts of Iron 3 for one other game that I play regularly, charged a LOT of money for what some people deemed a 'patch'. If memory serves I believe it was almost full price, like $40 or so. But if you bought it you would see that in essence it added a whole lot of new features that changed the game considerably. Bottom line, if you don't want to pay for an upgrade then don't, but please don't moan about it, not without getting your facts right first -
SFX 1.2.5 ultimate + German speak files(beta)
phil stanbridge replied to stephsen's topic in CM Normandy Maps and Mods
I honestly don't know if they're accurate or not Lanzfield. I've heard different sounds for the Panther gun but that was a high velocity gun. I really don't know if the 'thud' that represents that 75mm gun on the Sherman and MkIV/Stugs etc is correct.
