1. Yes, that's exactly what I had in mind! Thanks a lot, Brit, you really know how to keep your customers happy.
2. When the city build screen pops up it is always over that city in the map. So I have to drag it to the side to check the map. The small map in the city build screen isn't very helpful... would it be possible to have the city build screen pop up beside the city instead of over it? Also, in the city build screen, I think it would be helpful to show the units currently in garrison of that city. Finally, would it be possible to add an experience value option for the units. I guess some people wouldn't like the extra complication, but it would be something interesting to have in the optional rulesets.
3. For those that want to try the Onion Wars campaign, check out our site: http://www.onionwars.net/forum/YaBB.pl In the first campaign, the teams' economy was based on onion fields, hence the name. As for the current discussion, and from my experience as a GM, 4 kmĀ² maps seem plenty good to me.
4. Seems by the best option, IMHO. No such pesky thing as real life to interfere in the history, and the added flexibility is a substancial advantage. I for one felt the original planning was a bit too constricted, especially given the scope of the first three CM games. More room to expansion is always a good thing! As for history and background, they are indeed easy to create. Let's say, for example, that a important ally of the USA in the middle east is facing a civil war, backed up by not so friendly nations of the middle east that are trying to replace the government of this country. USA is called to save the day, and face the rebels and maybe elite forces from those other countries that are fomenting the rebellion (pretty much the same thing originally planned for Syria forces, I think). Plenty of room for other countries to get into the fray, which would justify all kind of equipment, european, chinese, russian, etc. Just my 2 centavos.
5. I'm interessed as well. As the second WineCape Tourney's winner and a Onion campaigner I hope there will be a place for me in it
6. It's an issue with the game engine. We'll have to wait untill the next version to solve this problem.
7. Heh, funny you mention that. I almost decided to try the diplomatic career during college. I have two college friends in the Itamarati at the moment. To tell you the truth, I'm more afraid that Argentina might collapse on us all... hope it won't come to that and you guys can resume growth as soon as possible.
8. HEY! Argie's right! Where's my damm copy??? Well, as far as most of Argie's compatriots are concerned, they are part of Europe, too, so this won't be a problem!
9. Hehe... nothing like avoiding a 60% importation tax Enough money to buy some 50 cd boxes
10. Actually, you can't get roof hits with direct fire in CMBO, but I don't know if the engine has been improved to allow this (quite rare) probability in CMBB.
11. And while we're talking about trivial things (but that could take hours and hours of coding and debugging), what about mousewheel support? I'd love to change view with it (yes, I play too much Wacraft III).
12. Charles did stated that this would require an engine rewrite, so yes, we'll have to wait for CMII engine to get quicker pbem games.
13. Ok, my take on the demo scenarios: I'm no wargamer, that's for sure. I do enjoy strategic games a lot. I came across Combat Mission by a link to the demo posted on the Gone Gold site (best site and forum about games I know), and then I decided to download it, not because I liked the info about it, but just to check how quickly I could get it with by brand new cable modem. A chance encouter, one might say. A week later I was hooked and had the game preordered. At this point I was doing whatever I could to show this fantastic game to other people who could have missed this pearl. I was already dreaming about the east front and the new game engine that will follow. To a strategic gamer like myself, CM offered hundreds and hundreds of non repetive game hours. I, of course, download the demo of CMBB as soon as it was available, and I have preordered it in the first moment possible. But I'm not sure I would get it after playing the demo should I have no prior experience with CMBO. I fear BTS is risking losing players like myself with the demo as it is now. Companies are usually accused of forgetting about their current customers as they seek to grab new ones. BTS, on the other hand, delivered us the demo thinking about us and showing how the game have evolved, their current customers, which is reason enough to praise their work. And why many people here are complaning, then? People are whining because they care about BTS crew and CM future. Many here have pointed out the game to friends and bought more copies to gift their friends with, talking about it in game forums, etc. Better demo scenarios, or scenarios like the ones we had in CMBO would help here.
14. Hi Matt, You can check this site out: http://www.vischeck.com/showme.shtml It has a graphic engine that will show you how the new colors look like for a colorblind person.
15. Have you participated in a tourney GMed by Treebust155 (1) Have you won a tourney GMed by Treebust155 (4) Have you participated in the CM hit thread (1) Have you defended that lmg42 should be able to run, or negate it was possible, at least twice (1) Your version of is CM cd 1.0 (1) You won a cool poster by being one of the first preorders (3)
16. Hey guys, Count on me if you need any help organizing this newbie tourney.
17. Kiwi Joe is suffering from incompatibility problems with Win XP, so our match won't happen any time soon.
18.
quote:
Originally posted by MrSpkr: Hey, what about me? I could have made a last turn charge just to throw a wrench in the works, but I held my reserves til the end. Steve

Ok, let me thank MrSpkr for the great work against Sledge. I'm looking foward to new tourney, as well as rematchs against the tourney's players. Also, I would like to thank Sledge, for teaching me never to play a setup I am not used to. If we have used normal troops, I believe I could have achived a better result in our game; Mike, for reassuring me the Brits have the worse inf. in the game ; MrSpkr, for remembering me that panzerschrecks aren't that good in the dark; Tincan, for some town defense techniques; Stug III, for the lessons I've learned in spearhead attacks; Chuckles, for the mechanized games info; tankbuster, for the use on board mortars can have.
