  1. Online multiplayer games are really hot these days. How about doing something similar for CM? Before ye olde grognards scream bloody murder, consider that games like Ultima Online are best sellers and generate the most revenue for the developer. In fact, this is something we gamers can for CM ourselves, but it works on the honor system <I can hear those uh-ohs already> I am thinking along the lines of turn-based, multiplayer game game with a large (nearly 5*5) matrix of maps. There are two sides and each one is controlled by a panel of generals who give orders to formations. Players command formations or sub-formations according to their success in battle. You're requied to attack and defend different maps. The generals from different sides agree to disagree on a map and send in their respective nearest formations. We can calculate transit times to see if it will be a meeting engagement, attack or defense game for either side. The results can be slugged out between two players. Reinforcements can be calculated at the start according to the proximity of other units. As you can see, this works on the honor systeam and close coordination. At the end of the day, results are calculated and a new overview map is placed online. Someone good with programming could perhaps make a simple program to do this. It'll be exhilerating to hear about your side's wins and losses and share news with other grognards when the sun goes down! Okay, by now you are either intrigued or probably thinking I'm some kind of nut (I'm NOT.. droool... dribble!). This idea seems too hot to just toss aside. Is it feasible? Has it been done before for a game like CM? Can BTS help us? Any input would be appreciated! ------------------ ---- If these walls could talk they probably wouldn't say much. 2. But CM is one game I can't way to buy with real greenbacks in the US... gnarf!
  3. Maybe someone removed my earlier post but in it, I basically said that your patrolling warez sites, although with every good intention, will do nothing to stop pirates from getting CM to China. It's very easy and all the CDs we get here are pirated. Warez sites are generally used by cable modem / DSL users in the USA and they matter very little in the piracy 'game'. Anyway, good luck and just don't give your copy to anyone ------------------ ---- If these walls could talk they probably wouldn't say much. The wallpaper is made in Taiwan.
  4. It's sad that no one can stop the game from getting into Chinese factories, where it is distributed all over the world. Believe me, you'll be wasting your time by hunting for CM on warez sits... I get all my games from the local retailer (who doesn't stock originals, by the way) for $2 per CD. Only Americans with cable modems download from warez sites :-( ---- If these walls could talk they probably wouldn't say much. The wallpaper is made in Taiwan.
