  1. Sorry guys, the computer is busy for some time It was delivered by the postie in a large envelope
  2. Now that things have quieten down a little :)I'll bump this concern for Steve to address with his views. PS No whinge( Heinemann Australian Dictionary : Australian, New Zealand : to complain in an annoying way ) intended...........just a consideration for an up coming patch
  3. Patch!!!!! Stuff that!! I'll pay $45 for a newly coded CMBO After the release of CMBB, a poll or hit counter should be added to the site to see if it is viable. You'd think the return would be worth it. Beats waiting years
  4. I had both KV's on a reverse slope and ordered hulldown to a panzer on a ridge in front of them. The previous turn they were firing at the panzer and they reversed out of los. Following the hulldown command they advanced back up the ridge and started firing and kept going over the ridge towards the panzer. I'm probably using the command wrong, but hunt is fine by me
  5. View 3 in CMBO is fine on small maps and compares to view 3 Shift+A 20 in CMBB, can't see a problem I like playing 5000pt ME with pbem opponents and CMBB is going to be great, but this camera angle problem will take a lot of enjoyment out of the game. Go load a 5000pt ME in CMBO and plan your moves..............the number of units and map size demands a view at height and at a an angle to see the lay of the land in the distance. 6. The same problem existed way back when we dicussed the Beta to Gold demo changes, or the Gold Demo to full Version changes (year 2000 ), luck would have it that the camera angle was changed for CMBO Someone at BFC must like that view........but when you have half a dozen pbem's on the go, you can't waste time per turn changing camera angles at view 3 to plan your overall advance strategy, and then back to view 1 or 2 for the imediate move. Next unit the same adjusting again......... I'm for Shift+A at 20 for a permanent camera angle, it doesn't effect view 1 or 2 but greatly improves view 3,4, and 5
  7. I'm coping with the new scrolling of the mouse to move around the battlefield, but something needs to be done about locking the camera angle to the camera view. With the Citadel senario camera views 3 and 4 are no good for viewing the overall battlefield unless you change the angle with shift+A. Problem starts when you go to another camera view the angle is reset and needs to be changed again when you go back to camera 3 or 4. Is there a way of locking the camera angle for the camera view in the "Prefs" file? I think this change would help dramaticly the game play, unless you want to look at the top of your panzers while they are shot at from out of sight [ September 04, 2002, 10:34 AM: Message edited by: mfred ]
  8. When I downloaded the Demo with Getright and checked the mirror sites, the program stated a couple of the mirror files had incorrect sizes compared to ftp.combatmission site file. Also the file at ftp.combatmission was resumable for downloading ( good for my 56k ). While installing the demo I got an error as well, but the demo has played fine with no gliches. Just some thoughts........
  9. Never surrender!!!!! Fight till the AI kicks you of the map. The best learning experience comes when you are trying to fight your opponent with a handfull off bloodied body parts, also the FOW shadows your opponents real condition. There is always a chance your opponent will get cocky and overextend his forces and turn the situation around, now that is a sweet feeling. The last turn always reveals the truth, you have to be there !!! [ 04-13-2001: Message edited by: mfred ]
  10. Here is a winner, 1000pts of Churchill VIII ( 7 off ), 1000pts of 7/2 (21 off ), result is 3 abandoned Churchill VIII and 21 destroyed 7/2.( A dead flat playing ground and nothing to be seen for 800m ) We need to talk about those Churchill's
  11. Thanks for your replys. It seems I am not the only one to witness this. My tank was not shocked and had plenty of HE , same as the Infantry gun. Thanks again. mfred
  12. Hello everyone, I was wondering if this has happened to any one else? Since the new patch, I have had a Hetzer tank refuse to area fire on a light double storey building with ** damage indication and also an infantry gun refused to area fire. I tried different turns in the same senario, but no luck. Quite annoying when the opposition is camped inside! BTS I have the file if you like. mfred
  13. To Juardis Thanks for your reply. I have been running the One Voodoo2 card with DirectX 7 for so long that I forget. The brand of V2 is Helios.( both of them) Memory count on booting reads 128M and windows98 reads 128M. I know that 133mhz for the ram is way faster than the motherboard. Next upgrade is a motherboard and cpu? mfred
  14. I have 2 Voodoo2 cards from the same manufacturer(Helios) that can be run together with a SLI connection. I tried to do this last night, but my system continually locked up. This happened trying to access Desktop properties and CM and when I checked Directx diagnostics, the spinning cubes most forward face was broken up with horizontal lines.Th is also happened in CM, with the game not wanting to start and when it did, it locked with a pink screen or all of the picture had horizontal lines running through it. The system ( don't laugh to hard ) Cyrix 300mhz CPU TX98 motherboard 128M 133SD Ram Win98 I am running the only updated drivers from 3Dfx and was wondering if I should use the original drivers because of SLI arrangement Or does my BIOS settings need to be altered. There is no information in the installation guide on this arrangement other than you can do it. Windows 98 accepted the new card and Voodoo2 properties had listed as SLI being detected. Any help would be much appreciated mfred
  15. Excuse me, I'm looking for "The Book of Rules for Warfare " Oh, there isn't any! That explains war I guess.
  16. I have currently bought 4 off an 8 vudeo series that documents German Panzers of WW2. They contain rare footage( After Villers-bocage, Sturmtiger firing, 88mm firing while still limbered etc...) The price is $45 in Australia, but well worth it. Check them out here:http://www.ihffilm.com/ihf/diedeutpange.html [This message has been edited by mfred (edited 10-20-2000).]
  17. Dear Bullethead, If you get the opportunity to view "Die Deutschen Panzer ", No.3, you will actually see real footage of 88's firing on the Western Front still HITCHED. Hope this clears matters for you.
