  1. The problem that I seem to be having is that every time I start CM, it insists on turning my Wave/Direct sound volume all the way up, and I cant seem to figure out how to avoid it. Any help would be appreciated. BTW, It's really stinkin' LOUD when the wave volume's all the way up. I turn it down because my buddy insists on turning the speakers up way high, and with a front and rear channel, it's hard to balance them, so I don't want to futz with the speaker volume controls. Short of muting the volume, turning the wave/direct sound volume down is the only way to get a "reasonable" volume level. Sorry if I rambled on.

  2. "Battlefront.com’s goal is to create and distribute serious, compelling, strategy and military history software in order to serve the needs of the thousands of wargamers who have nearly been abandoned by The Industry. Are you the sort of person who prefers reading Stephen Ambrose to John Grisham? Would you rather see Saving Private Ryan or Cross of Iron twice rather than Titanic even once? Do you find yourself glued to documentary programs on the History Channel while everyone else is watching Ally McBeal?"

HEY! I like John Grisham AND Stephen Ambrose! I liked Titanic too! AND... AND... I watch the History channel and Ally McBeal BACK TO BACK, BABY! biggrin.gif

  3. Also, I wonder if he had the Beta demo. I tried it, and wasn't too impressed as well, just a lot of niggling things that pestered me, nothing serious though. BUT! BUT! The Gold demo ABSOLUTELY BLEW MY STINKING socks off. (BTW, my socks don't actually stink, and if they do, you'll never know.)

  4. Actually, you can upgrade the video card. I had a SiS m/b, the onboard video was automatically disabled as soon as it detected another video adapter in the slot. I must say, though, be careful what card you buy, TNT cards are notorious for having trouble working on non-intel chipsets. I bought a TNT2 Ultra, and I had lock-ups galore on my SiS motherboard. Had to buy a new one.

Uhh... How exactly do I go about running in a higher res than 1024X768? I have a Guillemot Xentor 32 (TNT2 Ultra W/32MB RAM), I would think that this card would support a higher res, but the game (demo) doesn't give me that option.

  6. I also sent an Email to Mr. Trotter about 1.5 months ago. I've not heard a thing from the man. Perhaps the message did not head his way. I couldn't find HIS adress, only the editor. I had to put "please send this to Mr. Trotter" in the subject line. Honestly, being the great purveyor of wargames over there, I think he would, if you'll pardon the expression, cream his pants when he gets ahold of this goldmine.

Seems like a good idea; but where can the old demo be found?? Battlefronts website doesn´t have it..Neither does Combatsim.com - that is, the link to Battlefront is dead.. Help!!!

Actually, CDROM.com still has it. I'm downloading it as we speak (type?) the download seems a little slow, though
