  1. Hello I have an interesting situation in a tourney game against Tomi. Despite Turkey being in Japanese hands and having an unbroken rail line into axis controlled Bulgaria and beyond, Japanese ground units cannot op move any further west than Istanbul. My question is this by design, oversight or a bug?
  2. Hello Hubert Of course you are correct. The fighters were out of range by one hex. I had forgotten that intercept range is less than strike range. Dohh!
  3. Hello In a recent game, an anomaly occurred with Italian fighters failing to intercept allied naval airstrikes although within range and at full strength. The allies had DOW on Tunisia and attacked the garrison in Tunis with naval air. An Italian fighter unit was at Palermo which is within range of Tunis but it failed to sortie. During the next turn, when the Axis player bombed Tunis now in British hands, the same Italian fighters sortied as escorts when the bomber was intercepted by the Brit carrier. There is obviously a bug that treats the minor as being allied once occupied but not during the turn it is DOW causing the failure to sortie. I know it is only a very minor annoyance but Hubert or Bill may want to take it on board for a future patch if easy to fix. I have a pbem save if needed.
  4. Hello Bill I reinstalled the patch and will let you know if I run across the anomaly again. Regards Peter
  5. In a pbem game of World at War I am playing, the US fails to deploy any units on dow by Japan in Jan 42. My memory is a little sketchy on what exactly used to deploy on US entry but I believe there was a Pearl Harbour fleet, a couple of subs in some islands ports and a figher and bomber unit in the Phillipines. Just wondering if anyone knows if the lack of US deployment is a function of changes made by V1.03 or some sort of bug at play.
  6. Hello Bill If your opponent did de-select any scripts, would you get a warning indicating he did?
  7. Hello Lukas Final match is over with Wolfgang surrendering in a tough fought match. I would like to congratulate Wolfgang on his play, apart from Catocol Highlander, he is the toughest opponent I have ever crossed swords with. I would like to offer you my thanks for organising the tourney. For a first effort, I thought you did pretty good job and you can hold your head high. Regards Peter
  8. I have to echo Preusse's sentiments. I recently had to contact tech support to obtain an additional activation for SC when I upgraded my computer hardware. No fuss, no bother and I was up and running again after a few hours. Great game, great developers and great after sales service.
  9. I agree with Dragon in that in the scheme of the overall picture, Basra is not all that important and it would be very tedious replaying a turn over and over again in the hope you score a unlikely diplomatic hit on the Ottos. I think Germany's DOW on Italy is a legitimate move and quite clever. I am peeved I never thought of it myself ;-) I always had in the back of my mind that there was a large swing by the US to the Entente if Italy was DOW. Thinking about it now, I am pretty sure that was the case with Global Conflict and I just assumed it was the case with WW1 as well
  10. Hello Sapare It happened in Dragon's CP game of our tourney match. He must have received a big diplomatic hit on his first turn because the Ottos joined on his second turn. No such luck for me. in the mirror , my Ottos are only on 80% :-( I have seen the early Otto entry only once before and I play a lot games.
  11. Hello Bill I have saved game files and have sent them. While you are at it, there is another bug that needs looking at. The Turks entered the war before the Basra DE ocurred, I thought this was fixed in an earlier patch but obviously not. Regards Peter
  12. Hello An interesting situation has arisen in a game Call to Arms I am playing. The CP have made a DOW on Italy in early 1914 and invaded through Austria. The first Entente turn after the DOW has Italy with no mpp which is unpleasant but understandable because this is the case with the other Entente nations during their first turns of the war. What is interesting, is the closing screen shows Italy not being credited with any mpp for its second turn of hostilities. I was wondering if this is by design or a bug. If a bug , maybe it could be nipped in the bud before the release of Breakthrough.
  13. Hello Lukas My games against Ghost of War have finished with victory to Pacestick in both games via surrender. Regards Peter
  14. Hello Lukas I have made contact with Ghost, he is on vacation until the 11th with no access to SC, as a consequence,we are scheduled to commence hostilities from the 12th. Regards Peter
  15. The arty has a range of two hexes so you probably have to move.
  16. Hello Lucas Waltero versus Pacestick Victory to Pacestick in both games via Waltero surrender Regards Peter
  17. Hi I lost my address book during a recent upgrade. Can anyone waiting for me send me an email. Regards Peter
  18. I have the answer to your dilema which would also make Hubert happy...buy both games :-)
  19. I have had the same problem, sometimes for no reason I can ascertain, some HQs will only be able to command four units for a turn or two and then revert back to the five unit limit.
  20. Kommandant is correct, Hamachi works a treat. I have been using it to play SC via tcp/ip hookup against Gatocol Highlander for some time now. Both our computers are behind routers and we never could get a stable connection until we switched to hamachi
  21. Hi I am trying to locate my licence key for SC WW1. Can anyone point me to whereabouts in the folder the key is located. Thanks
  22. Hi Looking for an experienced opponent who thinks he can win Call to Arms as the Central Powers. If interested, send your first turn to: pzima@optusnet.com.au
  23. Just curious, had the tourny died a slow death or are we getting underway again some time in the near future?
