  1. I just recently got my arse handed to me in a notably leaky steel pot, by some guy who was in an artillery in the army. He had 81's, only 3, not even spotters.

He Timed his barrages to land on the only cover available in the logical line of advance for my attack.

The Shells were hitting the trees as my troops arrived, and while my guys were out of his line of sight, he targeted as far into the trees as he could and let 'em rip. The next round Shells were falling in back of the trees from a lateral 81.

The results were several routed and broken squads, heavy casualties, and several requests for tranfer out of my command by angry, pixelated, Allied Soldiers. While sometimes this tactic can lead to wasted ammo, it may also force your opponet to choose new tactics if an area he was planning to move through is suddenly "hot".

    scooleen, I agree with you.

No the holocaust WAS NOT funny. I am a decendant of actual German and Austrian jews who escaped prior to the horrors that went on over there. 3/4 of my family that stayed behind was arrested and/or murdered, or held in camps til war's end.

The family names were Grouppe and Strong.

I don't find it funny at all. I was making a joke about the game's behavior. I would have replied with email to you Space Thing, but you have none listed..... go figure.

  3. Thank You Elija!

I'm sure some of you can't see the flash movie, so I posted the actual screenshots.

The sound and the blood are added after in flash. If I pissed anyone off with the warcrimes thing, sorry.....................

I found "this behavior" interesting, so I created something from it.... Even if it is twisted.. At least I did something with it.

"Elijah Meeks: Oh please, this is a cute quasi-feature of CM. Sometimes your POWs will "escape" in the middle of your troops and it looks like you're shooting prisoners. I think it adds flavor." ....Wow never knew that.... there was no escape I saw.. he never put his hands down.. just died...

To all the tired, teenage, pimple-popping, game junkies out there right now sitting with your legs spread, scratching gonad, who are too busy wishing you knew what a girl smelled like up close, to take the time to create something or appreciate another's efforts, LOOSEN UP... I was just playin around....

To those of you who can appreciate the effort, however weak on the creator's part, to bring humor to what amounts to a very serious game..... I say GOOD SHOW!!! Go right on seeing the funny stuff where you can... Life is too short.

To all those people out there making games and creating fan sites... I say..WAY To GO!!!

Keep right on creating and don't let the critics stop you. Most of them are still mad at thier fathers and need to let go of thier hate, and stretch out with thier feelings! (paraphrase: Ben Kenobi, 1977)

  4. Ok guys ever seen a POW executed? The following is a link to my wargamer's propaganda page. http://www.geocities.com/cover_frc/

Clink the link at the top called "exclusive Footage" to see a short flash movie. The movie is composed from ACTUAL screenshots from a real game played by Darwin, in which a captured officer is shot. When Dar and I saw this we laughed long and loud, then I made him take some screen shots for my propaganda page. The 3 screen shots became the flash movie. Enjoy it, and be sure to browse the rest of the pages, especially the links to Darwin's sight, as he is the bomb on wheels!!

The page is best viewed with IE 5 and you must have a flash pluggin to see the movie.

This is not faked, An ACTUAL WARCRIME WEEEEEEE!!!!! talk about realistic!

  5. I also won here as poles. But I had my butt handed to me at the start big time. I had a few pieces of armor hiding and some Arty. But what really made the game for me was taking out his second PantherG with a PIAT team from ambush.

After Losing most of my armor including both fireflies to long range fire, I went to ground and tried to pound his exposed units. Eventually he came out after me with armor, trying to clean me up...But hull-down spots and that lovely PIAT made all the diff!!!

Darwin has posted screen shot's so check his thread called Berli's Woes for details.. his work is nice.

  6. First let me say: Thanks for all your help guys this is great.

    On that note:

a: I am playing on a friends PC, THEPOW's PC to be exact (which may answer some questions about who is who). So to avoid mixing our email and files I need to a webclient based email service that will allow for EASY CM pbem play.

    b: I will test bud.com. TY Scoop88

    thanks,

    - "hunt" means engage nearest, most exposed target, threat priority is is not a factor. Hunting a Panther is suicide. -

  7. Well I'm Glad to report That Birlie's Invincible Pillbox 75 finally died. It killed 3 tanks. Caused at least 4 infantry casulties. Took Several rounds of arty. And I counted at least 24 direct hits before it finally died.

    Luck of the draw?

    I think not;

I was wishy washy with my tanks to start with.

I timed my smoke poorly and to little benifit.

I destroyed my own cover by blowing up the large 2 story house on the American left flank. I killed 2 infantry squads inside, but then my exposed sherman, allready shy her commander was quickly peeled by the admirable professionalism of the german crew.

Currently Birlie has recieved reinforcements and the Panther has killed another Sherman, leaving me with 2 75's.

    Things look grim.

I will give it the old NEWBE TRY!

Mabe dumb luck and artillery will save me!!

    hopefully,

15-Engineer squad runs up to a mine field in the road and tosses satchels into the minefield, removing the threat. Seconds later the brave engineers were tore up by an MG pillbox. Still the tanks were able to access the town.

Well, I just played VoT as the Germans with no advantage and again, the AI handed me my balls on a hub cap that even Tonya Harding wouldn't use. So definitely, the Germans need a bit of advantage in this one. Just too much damn Allied artillery!!!

    ------------------------------------

    How could you lose?

I have never lost to the computer!!!!

    It's EASY to win.

Try again sport you will get it.

I have won that scenario as germs with my panther and little else on the field.

Chin up. You'll just need to remember...Mind over Machine and you will win.

  10. I have seen Flamies put to good use in an email game. The americans advanced on thier right flank against foxhole positions on the extreme german left in the scattered trees by the wall. The americans supressed the gerries with 105 and small arms fire while the flamer and a rifle team advanced. The flamer set them running as the woods lit up and the rifle team and support finished them off. The german position was destroyed. Unforntately for our Flaming friend, it was just then that the german 150 opened up from the woods on the german left flank a bit farther back....
