  1. interesting. well be fun to track what the community settles on.
  2. I'm curious. Not played the series since CMAK and back in my day we didn't have any fancy FOW settings (or did we and I forget?). Anyway, i'm curious what the "standard" for most multiplayer games is set at. I intend to play some with friends but ultimately I’d like to be able to play with some of you all and I'd like to be ready for whatever the standard is.
  3. it does beg the question, how will we know? One has to assume a forum post?
  4. That's got to be more than halfway to what we all hope for folks.... my happy thought for the day.
  5. a belated tx to WineCape. Read all the AAR's last night, while sipping some wine from the cape in your honor *Grin*
  6. we so need some old AAR's for entertainment while we await the new CM
  7. DOH, was on page not in forums..damn...sorry. and thanks.
  8. I know I’ve seen a link but I'm not having any luck with the search tool (I'm actually surprised it's not sticky) Anyone more adept than I able to pull it up. I'm curious which version of the Jagpanzer is in the game, I have this sense (and my history is poor) that the one I liked from CBBO isn't in the first version of the game.
  9. as much as I love a fine fruit of the vine, i'm more a cocktail man myself.
  10. there does seem to be a large number of us *Grin*
  11. You may be right, two views but only one reply, and you sir are NOT a lurker.
  12. Thought i'd poke my head up and say hi, i wondered if there were others of us out there. I was a big fan of the original CM and it's 2 exspansions. My friends and I played hundreds of PBEM games but I never really joined the larger community. Still I tended to lurk here to read interesting threads and feel a part of something a bit bigger than my group. CM:SF never got a hold of me, maybe it was the setting or maybe it was that it ran poorly for me, at least initially. So I slipped away from the community. Now with CM2 nearing release I've been an avid forum reader, refreshings a few times a day to follow all the AAR's and the debates. I'm curious if there are other "regulars" out there like me that don't end up posting much if at all.
  13. Course I shall send the AAR's. I play about 90% of my games against the same person and since i'm the more committed of the two it's mostly my job fo find us missions. Sadly this often means I do know more about the missions then he. Thus I make it a habit of saveing the txt I read and sending it along with the first turn file in the interests of fairness. Such a pitty we lost the scenario depot...that said I suppose it's not to terribly long till the next CM and hopefully support will come back with that release. Thanks again for all the help folks, and if anyone else wants to mail various ROW scenarios I'm all ears.
  14. mail on the way. Tx much...those two scenarios just really sounded good for head to head play.
  15. Well Triangle was 4 I'm pretty sure..but mellon is is Iv. Sadly I have the link to those but4 and 5 seem awol
  16. cool thanks much, though I was looking for wet trianble and or squeezing the melon mostly. Still thanks for more good scenarios to play. They've become very hard to find in last year..lots of pages with broken links etc. games getting long in the teeth I know but..still nice to have access to all these good scenarios folks made in the way back.
  17. After reading these AAR's today I've an inclination to dust off CMBB and play some..but I can't find the scenarios anyplace. Anyone know where I can find them?
  18. I've had a devil of a time finding any on the web. Anyone have a recommendation?
  19. yea..I figured I had..and the reasponces have been interesting and fun to read. i didn't expect really to get "do this then that". Mostly I wanted some various opinions to judge. I'm haveing fun in any event so... all this said do we have any other rumors about CMX?
  20. do you guys generally play with rarity on? also do you think CMBB or CMAK is better for this style of play?
  21. I've been a longtime fan of the CM series (have all the games) and have played mostly QB's against friends. We're just now, FINALLY moving into the idea of not haven the computer buy forces..and it's intimidating as hell. Anyone have any ideas for a link to a primer? Are the point values useful and make fair battles (we find the random battles often end up with one side at a significant disadvantage, like with lots of guns and no way to move etc). Anyone care to rant a bit for my benefit?
  22. Some questions answered: The pics you see is the end of battle 2 of 5. The map is yet to move at all. It looks pretty clear to me (I'm axis) from what I've seen (I've not looked at the allied screen shot in truth) I think yes he has probably 3 to 1 or greater force parity. So yes I thin it is a build up operation. By he probed me twice I mean he sent men close to my defensive position, I slaughtered them and he never sent a more significant force. He couldn't go around me because we are at maps edge..my defense is built around this fact. Kingfish..I like your theory, though I'd like to know that was the reason. I guess I could open the old play file and try. All this said I THOUGHT the map would scroll and we'd get to deal with my being on his flank.
